Lots of great reading!
Thank you. There are so many great events this summer 😊
I can’t imagine why a game that requires drinking out of a chamber pot would fall out of favor. I still need to read Heartstopper. Great wrap up, Debs!
I know right 😂😂 what is not to love about this game? Thanks Dave and Olive 😊
Sounds like a lot of fun challenges you have going now and for the summer! I started Dune back in October, but put it on hold and I’m excited to pick it back up this summer. I definitely want to try Ulysses at some point as well. I’ve also been rewatching the original Star Trek. I love it. It’s definitely “of its time”, but I love the old sets and simplicity of the costumes. More than a Game looks really good. I really enjoy the variety of books you talked about.
I loved Heartstopper and have read the first 2 books so far. So sweet and I’m also sad it’s been banned. Ridiculous! Hope you have a great rest of your reading month, Debs!
Thank you ☺️. I have to say I’m loving Dune and enduring Ulysses. I definitely want to finish it but am not finding it easy. The original series of Star Trek is just fab. I love the dramatic lighting. When something serious is happening just the actor’s eyes are illuminated 😂. Heart stopper was so gentle and lovely. I really want to read the rest now. Thanks so much for stopping by 😊
Every now and then I will listen to The Sensual World by Kate Bush and convince myself I should read Ulysses but then I watch videos about it and think maybe not 😂I've never read any of the Blish ones because it seems a weird concept to me.
I have to say I’m struggling a bit with Ulysses but am determined to finish it for my own sense of satisfaction. I’ve got one or two books from each of the Star Trek series. I think I’m going to go with Deep Space Nine next 😊
hellooooo....😊
Hellooo to you too and happy reading 😊 Thanks for stopping by 😊
I also just read Flint. Interesting setting, in New Mexico! Lava fields, ice caves, etc.
I agree. I had know idea that kind of terrain existed there. It was fascinating. 😊
@@RaynorReadsStuff - Same here. I was surprised to read about lava flows in New Mexico!
I've actually been pleasantly surprised by Dune - once I started reading that first section, I found it hard to put it down; I'm contemplating reading complete series...and probably the Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson novels *after* that.
I've made a good start with Book Trek 2024. I've already read "Assignment: Eternity" a novel featuring Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln, by Greg Cox. And after watching Randy Ray's recent video on banned Star Trek books, I'll be having a go at reading "Killing Time" by Della Van Hise. I've had the censored edition of the book for quite awhile...so, why not? 😁
Why not indeed 😊 sounds like a great plan. I’ve got a book or two from each of the series. I’m looking forward to more Trekking.
I’m loving Dune. Certainly going to go straight through the trilogy then probably pick up Frank’s other books later in the year 😊
I would have called it “Dune on the Melange”…
Haha. That would have been a good plan 😂
groan...
In the early years Blish was adapting Trek episodes without having seen the show, and he was sometimes working off outdated scripts. At least that’s my understanding. I think those Blish books were purely for fans to relive episodes in an age before reruns.
That makes a lot of sense. That’s exactly how they read. This week’s was very different 😁
