I did get the 5150 Stealth 50 Watt and the 5150 III EL34 100 Watt because of your reviews and I am completely still as stoked about them as the day I got them a year and a half ago. Rock N Roll Mr. Nineore.
I have a 210c combo which only has OD2, which I really like. But listening to this comparison I'm now actually seriously considering trying out the mod that seems to be popular with a lot of JVM2 users, which essentially changes the OD channel to sound like the JVM4's OD1 channel.
Just one resistor and two capacitors, (one of which can be reused) will turn OD2 into OD1. Personally I find OD2 with the boost a little anemic. Turning up the tone on the Maxon and the channel’s treble control and presence will get you closer to the cutting top end of OD2. This way the midrange will still be thick and more Marshall-like. Although the amps don’t sound the same, the tone stack of OD2 is that of the Soldano SLO.
I really like your style and qualification of the gear being thoughtful and fully qualified. I am looking at the 210 for 1600 bucks new from Sweetstupid. Marshall has lowered prices even on the handwired.
While I own a few different amp brands, I'm a Marshall player. The JVM410H sounds great and covers everything Marshall for me. That said, there are a few Marshall sounds I wanted dedicated amps to cover, so I have: 1959X full stack, JCM 900 SL-X 2100 with 5881 power tubes (this is the JCM 900 that's not like the others), DSL40CR. The JVM410H killed my Splawn GAS. I also have an Origin 50H and Origin 50C, the 50C is my grab and go tube amp, covers a lot of ground and with my HX-Effects in 4CM does everything. I think the Origin 50 is very underrated by Marshall players. Like all MV Marshalls, I have the master at 8 or more.
I love my JVM410. I also had the 2nd release of the of the EVH Stealth, and as much as I lived it I always kept playing the JVM. A buddy of mine owns the 210H and to him, it sounds nothing like my 410. He says he can't even get close to my tone. I figured it might be tubes but it's an odd one.
Od1 is definitely the more classic marshall eq voicing on the jvm410 it just feels like a progressively more gained continuation of the crunch channel, 0d2 definitely has a different flavor but you can get it pretty close
These are some of the best tones i have heard from a JVM! Great job showing the differences! I always struggle to balance the gain since i feel it makes the tone mudy realy quickly, especially for rythm. Not the case here however!! No ods used, right?
Od1 works on my red dean for heavy chugs but my blue Ibanez sounds cranky and noise but od2 that I haven't using that channel for months but when I have my blue Ibanez I will test it on the od2 channel for a change because I didn't now that I need noise gate to reduce all the disturbing noises
My JVM 410H must be broken, it does not sound this Amazing! Great video! I Flip and Flop between OD1 and OD2 depending on the weather 😂😂 You definitely made the amp sound the way I want my 410H to sound in this video! ❤️
That’s a tough one ,the EVH sounds more powerful and thicker with a cab however the Marshall seems to work better with the CaptorX In a band situation I’d go EVH 100 yes
OD 2 is meaner with more bite I think. OD 1 is a little more “vanilla” sounds like. I live on crunch channels of every amp I play. Rather push those with a clean boost and have the immediate attack than a smooth high gain channel.
Amp sounds freakin brutal man. Don't need a boost on any channel. Od 1 red is amazing....orange was really good too. Does the evh el34 head sound as good do you think?.....
They are quite different the EVH 34 stealth has this massive room filling punch on all volume levels where the marshall needs to be up at rehearsal levels to reach it,the EL34s strangely enough ,I don’t use as much as I should but it’s hard to find an amp that sounds as huge.

That’s awesome thanks buddy
The Stealth 50W is still King of the Amps at my house and I have a few \m/
Thanks for everything you do. Really helpful man, I’ve learned a lot from your channel

Yeah it seemed to come out on top on this demo for sure

I quite like the 210 as well it’s not quite as versatile you lose a few channels but some would say the 410 has too many

Hi there thanks, yes I agree it does get fuzzy really quickly it says on screen everytime a boost is used 👍
Awesome video mate when I had mine I mainly used OD 1 channel and OD 2 for solos amazing amp
Yeah I kind of cycle around my amps now depending on mood nice to have a few it spurs in creativity I feel
@@NinecoreNeil there a no better way to get inspiration
@@adiecummingsshredguitar9306 I agree swapping guitars is also a good one I find
OD1 orange is the one!
You could put a transparent OD /Treble boost pedal like a Handwired love pedal or and EQ pedal to change OD2 into OD1 . I much prefer OD 1
Orite Neil just a quick comment to say how it's sick that whenever I want to look up a new amp you've already done a review/video. Cheers
Haha 😂
That’s awesome
That jackson Brandon Ellis is SICK BTW!

@@michaelmitchell5909 no worries that’s why I do this channel 👍
what guitar cable did you use ?
Will be EVH or Blackstar 👍
Just curious, do these have the issue like the dslhr100 where you crank the gain with a boost and the compression sucks the tone from the note?
Not that I’ve noticed
I've wanted to buy a jvm but everyone says they are extremely noisy. Have you had much issues with this?
Ha they are noisy but the EVH is more noisy
A gate in the loop sorts it

Massive price drop by Marshall today on the 205h brand new for 1349 I had to order one let me know your thoughts
Yes unfortunately it’s been discontinued
@@NinecoreNeil that's not what they said when I ordered it but would you say it's worth buying

Put in some 6ca7 and a 12at7 as cathode follower. A complete different kind of Monster.
Heard of that mod before I think Dan Gower does one similar
No mod, just swap the tubes. The 12at7 should be in the v3 preamp position if I remember it right.

I’ve owned a couple not tried the new models yet though
The dsl sounds like shit. Always has and always will
Wow wtf accent is that
