Now I see again why I kept my Peavey VYPYR VIP3: analog effects, Transtube and no computer necessary. I would really love to see Sir Charles review one of those too someday.
I’ve heard great things about those, one of these days I’ll get my hands on one
can't read the screen at all, screen shot would have been easy enough.
My problem with the global EQ is that it affects all the channels, and especially the acoustic channel likes to have the full range.
But you can set the parametric EQ individually for every channel. Just click on the EQ tab.
Noise suppressor in the katana would cut out all the noise.
I tried the configuration you did and let me tell you that my Katana came more alive and my pedals sound better
When you do the Global EQ tweak in the software and then save it to the amp, does it save permanently for everything on the amp, or do I need to save it for each amp model and each patch? Would be wonderful if it is a once and done for everything type save. (Same too for the noise suppression.) I bought this thing on a whim assuming it would be at least as good as my tiny/cheap Mustang 1v2.....so far nope. But nothing beats my tube-driven Super Champ X2, That thing is direct from the gods....sounds good on its own and with pedals.
Global EQ tweaks the whole amp - every channel etc etc
Can anybody read the settings on the Global EQ, cause I cant read them in any resolution.
Why would anyone get this and not hook it up to a PC? There are only like 4 things you can do without a PC. LOL it took me over a year to hook mine up and the sound is comparable to a Laney Iron heart without even being hooked into a cab. (Mk2 head model)
I know lol, I just didn’t have a pc capable of running it without crashing until recently. Hopefully maybe a mkiii will connect via Bluetooth to a smartphone or tablet, I think that’s where most tech is heading. I wish I had gotten the head, I have a couple good cabs that can run circles around the little box the combo is in. Maybe I’ll get a saw and do a head conversion.
Oh and I didn't mean anything by my post. I'm guilty as well but it's becomes a killer budget amp once you do. Happy jamming. Yeah I have the head, and I am very pleased with and even have used it with a band.
I cut mine at 6 khz. It works for me. Plenty of bad mojo (harmonics) above 6000. A word of warning though, when engaging the global EQ, there is an attenuator there (on my MK1 Artist), I left mine at -20 db. I found it later! :)
I hear ya man.
When I first got the mk2 50 watt I was SO unimpressed and disappointed with it straight out of the box.
Then months later I started using the software and it really opens up the endless possibilities.
Especially using the other amp models that are available.
I love the Marshall's and the Dual Rectifer Vintage models. 👍🏻
Went from the Mark 1 100 watt to the one you have. Same experience. I've got it to the point where it's acceptable to me, but it's still nowhere near as good sounding.
And now you hate it again. Did you already sell it ?
I wouldn’t say I hate it, I just don’t really have a need for it anymore. I play either bedroom volume or direct through headphones 99% of the time. For bedroom volume, the positive grid spark 40 does that better. For headphones, just an amp modeler does that better. I haven’t sold it yet, I haven’t had time to swap the stock speaker back in.
@@Chucksguitargeekery yeah, but you have other amps and you have not sold those...Anyway, everybody says that the Mk2 sounds awful compared to the first version.
not hidden or locked
What's the hidden feature?
The global EQ that’s only accessible through the computer program
Tell me you didn't watch the video without _teling_ me you didn't watch the video
@@Chucksguitargeekery I have the katana mk1 how can I find the global EQ?
@@danielcastillo5525 it's the same way... Through Boss Tone Studio.
@7:09 -
B. You've never used a DAW or a computer (in a decade) the whole time you're ran your channel, just an iPhone.
A. You use a microphone to record your amp.
C. It doesn't take a "Master's Degree" to put this one together.
// Global EQ //
High Gain 0
High Cut 10khz
Mid +2khz
Low Cut 60hz
Are you sure those are the settings ? Cause I cant read them in any resolution.
Why is your guitar so out of tune??
