Just yesterday my Z(06) started making a thumping/flat tire sound but only when I let off the gas. When accelerating is kinda vibrates but then letting off the throttle is make that thumping/clunking sound. My thoughts are either wheel bearing or perhaps an axle, shoot maybe even both.
Hmm yeah that’s tough, it could be a mix of both, I would jack up the rear diff if you have access to a Jack and go from there. Wiggle the wheel around and see if there’s play. I feel like if you had a broken axle, you would really know, probably wouldn’t even drive
@Yvng Winter ive been a car technician for over 10 years and it sounds like the alternator is overcharging your battery and the smell you are smelling could possibly be sulfur from the battery expanding and creating gasses from the overcharging, the so called egg smell, hope that helps buddy
@@Cdawgstraightupposted no problem! Glad I can help! I just recently swapped out my diff bushings as well, mine were completely shot. I’ll be making many more videos about this car as well since it’s been such a big project!
Joe Mulbah if it’s where bearings, you can replace either the hub assemblies or just the wheel bearings themselves. I would contact a mechanic to get a 2nd opinion before you begin
The new wheel bearing is being installed at Super Service Automotive tomorrow, I can't wait for the grinding noise to go away!

Have you figured it out yet I’m having the same problem
Would you happen to know why when I gas it then come to a complete stop the outside of my car (06) smells bad? sort of expired eggs?
Uhhhhhhh check your coolant color, any white smoke in exhaust? I’m not sure exactly but you could be burning coolant

Did it seem like the wheel was going to fall off? Or like the tire was flat?
Not exactly, it was very loud and caused some vibration
Hey man, is it that thumping/flat tire noise coming from the rear you are referring to as the bad wheel bearing? I might have the same
Yep it came from the rear. I changed both out with MOOG bearings and it’s smooth as butter now and completely quiet!
@@ConnorRydland thanks man, was wondering what the heck that noise was, I suspected something else because I had no whine, thanks for posting this!!

Hey man how did u remove that upper compartment door (nav door)
Uh the previous owner broke it off 😂 so I’m guessing if you pull it off hard enough it will come off
Hey I am having similar problem with my Nissan 350z touring to be specific, the high pitch sound how can I fix that?
