I NEED to take a moment and say thank you from the very bottom of my heart for this, as well as all of your videos. This video literally changed my singing life! The notes just come out so easily. Thank you thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with me as well as all of your viewers at no cost to us, but out of the goodness of your heart! God Bless and Happy New Year :)
How's the singing coming? I noticed this was posted a long time ago, but wanted to share something that worked for me. Justin's vocal training course: voicelessonstotheworld.com/page/vocal_course It's fabulous. Not sure if you knew he came out with one.
Yes, Justin has been blessed by the Lord, undeniably. His way of teaching, compassion, and loves to see everyone succeed. He is Truly a profound gift to this world. We I'm blessed to have stumbled upon this channel! Be blessed!
OH MY GOD. I ALWAYS WAS TAUGHT THAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO GO IN AND OUT. You're literally my hero. I never knew about mixed voice until you, and now this. I always knew my solar plexus is tight, but didn't know it affected my singing! My mind is BLOWN. I love you.
Justin, you are a genius! I have wondered how the solar plexus works for many years; thanks for such a great lesson. Your right it makes such a difference!
Oh jeez this was like an immediate key to understanding how to get more consistent tone support and for taking some laryngeal tension down specifically while fatigued.

So happy that I found this video! For some reason I knew that Solar Plexus is important and I can improve my vocals by relaxing it, but my teacher just never said anything about it. Thank you for the explanation!

What an amazing video! A year back, never really understood this. Now that I can apply this, singing seems so so effortless! Thank you Justin, and thank you to the person who asked this question ::
Oh my gosh this just makes sense. I was so confused why I still strain even tho I thought I have a good breathing support. Thank you for this information Sir 🥰 The frustrations in singing in the choir in this pandemic caused me to have a hard time singing.
Hmm. It can take practice if you've never done it before! For more help, join Justin's UA-cam chat! Next one is Feb. 23 1PM EST. More info in our Community Tab! -NYVC
Toni Sattler this lesson is all about abdominal muscle support - and the abdominal muscle you feel over the solarplexus is the six-pack-muscle, or m. rectus abdominis. this muscle moves from your sternum and ribs to your pelvis. imagine a string getting tightened from your sternum to your pelvis. there is no way it is tight on the solarplexus region and loose on the lower belly region. so it is alright.
Great tips. Thank you. i have problems. I squeeze my solar plexus too much in the high notes and it creates a big strain in my throat. My question is: how is it possible to tension the abdominal muscles and backmuscles / sides, and let the solar plexus kind of relaxed, and soft. i mean: when I use my back and side and abdominal muscles I also tension my solax plexus, it goes all together, it is such a difficult thing for me when I sing in my higher range.
I used to do the same thing. Takes practice. I would keep my hand on it to remind me. Justin has helped me so much. Awesome teacher and an amazing singer, too. Have you heard how different he can make his voice sound. I am so amazed: ua-cam.com/video/tnSSp3R9Wd8v/v-deo.htmle
Are your abs not supposed to flex at all? Even when all of your air is depressed? Because right when I lose almost all of my air, my abs sink in and tighten. How do I avoid this?
Thanks for your generous explanation of solar plexus singing guide.l can feel the huge improvement but when it comes to breathe in again for the second phrase l feel quite difficult to do the same thing like beginning, the timing for the solar plexus to come out again.please help.tq.
This is amazing. Again another phenomenal video! Curious should this be in the breathing playlist? I was looking for it there first btw, then had to do an online search for solar plexus. Damn!
When I breath in my upper and lower abs expand as I breath it, but when I exhale they both just retract, and I can't get the solar plexus to pop. However, there isn't any tension or tightness in the solar plexus when I exhale.
Thanks. I don't feel the solar plexus moving forward at all although i don't feel it moving backward either. However, I'm feeling more vibrato. Is this one, or the most important key to vibrato?

Either I’m not locating it properly or it’s going in as I sing. It goes out on a tss but the longer I sing the more it seems to go in, I don’t understand
Is this because a tight solar plexus obstructs the free movement of the rib cage, which needs to be relaxed and not squishing the lungs? Also, i wish i had been applying this tech for the last 10-12 years. It’s like a missing link. Getting a lot of milage out of it. Thank you! I can see how this might be something that someone would accidentally get right and therefore pick up singing far easier than others. It’s a really simple thing to focus on that fixes a lot of other things automatically.
My solar plexus seems to pop out but I find that, so does my lower ab region. Basically my whole stomach pops out and it does when I sing as well. I have no idea whether I am doing it right or wrong 😭.

when i pop out the solar plexus in the exhale i feel that my abdomen is quite tensed, with the sensation spreading thru the lower parts of my body around the hips. is this normal?
Hi Mayonico! The upper abdominals should not be tense. The lower body engagement is normal and positive. However, it should be subtle - never aggressive or forced. This episode might also be good to watch: “Singing Breath Of Triumph!” - Quick Singing Tips Ep. 13. We hope this helps! -NYVC
Should my solar plexus area feel 'harder' when it pops out? I'm finding that to get the 'pop out' effect I'm having to engage the lower belly muscles to push instead of just relaxing all my muscles and 'releasing' the air
Hi Snehasha! You can join Justin's chat to ask him! More info in our Community Tab! In the meantime, try playing around with expanding that solar plexus area during the exercise. See if that helps. :) -NYVC
