    We sit down with Tom from Sol-Ark at our 8th Annual Solar Conference to discuss the features and benefits of the Sol-Ark 8k Hybrid Inverter. It is an easy to install solar + storage yourself with the Sol-Ark inverter/charger. It supports 8000 watts of continuous power for off grid production, and 9000 watts of continuous power for on grid. It has its own solar charge controllers and built-in over current protection, making for a complete DIY solar installation.

    I use the Magnum system and I am very happy with it but this sounds like a really good option as well. I think they have a great mission statement and I hope they will be successful.

    I just ordered this inverter. There is nothing else out there that can get even close. It is expensive but in US you still have this year 30% off from taxes.

    Stay away from the alt-E store unless you want to get shafted by buying an outdated unit from Sol-Ark. They sold me a Sol-Ark 12K in 59V I never knew existed for a 63V model and the papers and manual included in the box all said it was a 63V model but it was not. Now I am screwed!

    I like this inverter a lot. Costs too much though. I can get two 8K inverters with 2 charge controllers on Amazon with free shipping for less than this one Sol-Ark not including their shipping. I only need around 8kwh for my home so 2 charge controller and an inverter will do, no batteries. Only interested in selling back to the power company. We get around 10 cents per Kwh here in Texas.

    How easy is it to replace any individual component that may fail. Ie a MPPT charge controller need rqplacement.

    Not supporting hv batteries is a mistake. I was sold until I heard that. There are leftover ev batteries available everywhere. I have 2. My current inverter uses one and I am looking for another hybrid inverter for my second Tesla battery. It’s too bad.

    Sol- Ark and Imeon are efficient, use 48-VDC batteries, user friendly, and simple to install hybrid inverters. The next generation of inverters has to integrate better with hot water diverters and EV charging products such as those from myenergi.com, or perhaps to integrate them as part of the inverter to add more value to the same.

    so if you have electric heat pump, electric water heater, stove, oven, MW, Drier, dish washer, and clothes washer, how does it do with inductive surges? Especially when you may have 15kwh per day? In theory, if the power were continuously being drawn, that would be a passable generation, but since things turn on and off..what happens when lots of stuff comes on at once? Additionally, when the power company wiggles the frequency to trip all the grid tied systems off line because of the duck curve, what happens with their system?

    • @6969smurfy

      Billblom don’t think inverters the issue here. It would be you!

    • @Billblom
      @Billblom 5 років тому

      @@6969smurfy I spec'd out a system here several ways. If I don't use the stove, heat pump, clothes dryer and hot water heater, it is EASY. However. I do need those.. so I'm looking at (from Tesla) 3 power walls, or a huge stand-along inverter. AC starting? Starting surge needs a minimum of a large starting surge. 20+ amps at 240 volts. You may be able to stay hot for 3-4 days at a time when the power is out.. I'm not in the group. I need to take showers... water heaters are a big plus to make that possible. Heating is a must... and when the temps get below 40, the heat pump gets REAL inefficient. and guess what, that is the same huge starting surge again. The power company here just announced a 25% price hike in the next year or so, which will push this forward... Only issue: after the Lawsuit from Walmart against Tesla.. well, I can see why there were problems at solar city. burning down your customers is not a great business plan. So mine will be on a big stand in the back yard.... And batteries/inverters, charge controllers in a shed next to the stand. Why? The local Fire Department is not willing to climb on a roof covered by solar panels since it is a source of power that they have no control over..... So out in the yard it goes...

    Can this be installed where net metering is not allowed? In other words, can it be configured to power the house when solar/battery power is available and automatically switch over to grid power but NOT supply any power to the grid?

    Did you ship this product to Nigeria?

    • @AltEStore
      @AltEStore  5 років тому +1

      The inverter is 120/240V split phase 50 or 60 Hz. Nigeria uses 230V 50Hz. It will not power Nigerian equipment, nor connect to the grid. However, if you are powering equipment from North America, and not connecting to the grid, we are able to ship to Nigeria through a freight forwarder with wire transfer payment. But there are more affordable products available to do that with those restrictions.

      Hi. I think a much cheaper and more compatible product is being sold by Voltronic Power in South Africa called Infinisolar. They are very famous in South Africa and few Asian countries. Maybe it is easier to look for that inverter compared to the one in the video.

    SMA Inverters are one of the most popular Inverters installed around the world, why have you left them out of your comparison sheet, I bet its because at least for the price they shit all over the Solark.
