Getting out, going, challenging yourself mentally and physically, exploring new places, finding new in old familiar places. Being in the great outdoor.
Adventure is to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before. Sounds vaguely familiar and what Noah does! 🤓
Epic adventure. Backyard to the ocean. My buddies used to wait until the heavy rains came and the creeks overflowed in the 1980's and they'd pump up their cheap 3 man rafts and run the rapids all the way across town, about 10 miles, then have a friend pick them up, and do it again. It's a miracle they never died in those creeks at flood stage, but it made them all really good white water rafters for when they could buy professional rafts and equipment. Maniacs.
Helmet, knee pads, waders, fly rod, I like the cut of this guy’s jib. What friendly neighbors. I think here in the US we’d be lucky to only have the cops called on us. Thanks for sharing.
Way to go Noah. You truly did capture the backyard adventure, a far cry from your remote northern adventures yet just as captivating. I watch all the canoe/ camping channels on youtube. When it comes down to it I enjoy yours the most. Its all about character and personality.
This year there will be no paddling for me.April 1st shoulder surgery to repair torn tendon off the bone and 2 complete shears in my rotator cuff.So I will be walking and light hiking.Your little creek reminds me of little creeks in Maryland ,Virginia and West Virginia.Hope to paddle in Canada next year. When you're out there it's always easy to feel peaceful and free. Thanks for sharing .Craig Miller
Nice...trips like this are a good watch..i know you guys love your expedition trips but stuff like this/like other 2/3 trips you have posted (canoe trips/trips to cabins etc) are awesome...most of us can relate to the 2/3 day...aka long weekend trips more due to careers/life so I hope you gentleman keep uploading them. Cheers
Wow - Loved it man! V few channels get me watching from start to finish, without skipping - you're one of them. Was a 100% authentic adventure, with probably more danger than you bargained for! The last bit being drenched was intense man! Well done for your mental fortitude. With much admiration, Eze.
Can't imagine what it would like to have that in my back yard. I had a little, little spring fed brook as a kid. Which I dearly loved, this is another level. Nice trip.
I'm a local resident of the area you entered into the Ocean. I have being eyeing the majority of your route for several years, wanting to make an attempt! Now I know that with high water, this is a feasible plan! good stuff Noah! thanks for the vid.
These videos are amazing! During many of those shots I felt like I was in the stern of the canoe! I can't imagine how you're continuing the trip yet doing the camera setup so perfectly! Crazy great job!
It’s always great to see someone getting out and doing whatever they can…no commute to a put-in required! Wild Rivers was an awesome trip that was fun to watch (and the kind of thing I’ll continue to watch!), but this kind of trip is something we can all identify with. I still can’t understand why you don’t have more views/subs.
We seriously enjoyed this one. What a great adventure. It's amazing the beauty and adventure one can find in their own backyard if they just dare to venture. Thank you for sharing this one!
Growing up mom would say outdoors you go and let your imagination be creative. Us 5 kids always found some adventure to explore through out the season's. Still today as a 59 year it amazes what's out the back farm house door
As a communications major who has been involved in my share of a/v production back in the day, I must say your production/editing and shooting skills are fantastic! Plus, I feel like I'm right there with you on your most excellent adventure! Fantastic job.
We have a river in our “back yard” which is very navigable in spring (albeit with farm crossings , old dams and the occasional log jam). It eventually flows into the Nation River and thence into the Ottawa, which flows into the St. Lawrence ending up in the Gulf of St Lawrence. A noodge further and we’d reach the Atlantic. A bit of a paddle.
I am also from the Halifax area and I partly canoed the route you took many years ago. Beautiful to find such beauty and quiet just on the outskirts of the city. There is so much to see and do, if you are willing to make an adventure. Love your videos! Keep them coming.
nice trip, beautiful country, imagine the salmon and sea trout years ago that went through there, before all the sewage and chemicals, it is amazing trout still live and Shad Bay getting it's name from another anadromous fish, I wonder how many shad go up the river today, I remember making it to Holman Marsh soggy, soaked, great memories, thanks for sharing, thumbs up
Love your stuff man. I'm also from just outside Halifax so I love the local feel of these vids. I'm a 1-2 day trip kinda guy so I can appreciate an adventure like this.
Fine battle scars on the bottom, your Esquif sure has been used and it`s ruggedness taken advantage of. My Prospectour 16 looks too unmarked in comparison… 😁
I live in the High Peaks ADK's and have hundreds of acres of state land behind me. I have explored some of it but always dreamed of going farther. Your video has inspired me to just do it. Congrats on making your dream come true. Another great video!
Brilliant as usual. Adventure, especially in the touring off-road motorbike scene, is a much overused word. Adventure, for me, is when you're out of your comfort zone, and have challenges to overcome, without just getting your wallet out and paying for someone to help. Otherwise, it's just a holiday.
Pretty sweet! Being able to paddle from your house to the ocean and fulfill a childhood adventure . I just happened to be drinking a Montreal brewery IPA while I was watching this too. If you see Hop Valley IPA, I highly recommend you try it.
I have to tell you that first bit reminded me of just about any hike first thing in the Spring - blowdowns and just built up crap at every turn. Well done ! Adventure - the exploration of new & unknown 'things'. I am more so a hiker and love to travel so....my adventures are typically more 'land based'.
This brought back memories. Used to do this all time here on backwater creeks trying to make it to the main river . Saw some sketchy stuff. Once I canoed right into a working methlab. 🥴 And I was in a 17'6" Grumman 😂 Good times Awesome video
Your neighbors must love chatting…! Great job, now u know! I have to say though, if that is high water calling it a creek is even exaggerating🤔🥴. U take care! THANKS
Great video as always. Thats a shame about the trout situation. Some of those pools looked ripe but you barely got a nibble. Maybe pack a telescopic spin rod and some worms in case they aren't going for the fly. Either way congrats on creating adventure so close to home. Eagerly awaiting news on the crews next big trip.
A bit too much Type II Fun for my tastes, but still, a great watch :) I've got a lake at the top of my road and another not much further away, and can get the bus downtown with my inflatable kayak and go exploring. I still have a lot of islands to poke around and camp out on!
A ton of effort for 10 miles! Well done, surprised you could not rustle up a fish. The fire starter seemed to work well, looking forward to the new year.
Very cool. As just past 2 minutes, when you’re going through Shubie Park (I think) the Halifax bike mayor passes by: blue e-bike with cargo space at the back. :))))
Such a great video. This is the kind of stuff I’ve been finding myself doing lately, it’s great finding joy around your own home! Though the creeks look beautiful there compared to the ones here in Ottawa.
Anyone else input the missing high pitch keyboard notes from the "take on me" song by a-ha at the 28 minute mark? 🤷♂️ Another outstanding creation for this channel!
Hey Noah, loved the video! I really appreciate the theme of this trip. I am also from Halifax and made a similar trip this spring down the MacIntosh run in Spryfield. I made a video documenting the trip for my first hand at doing some canoe trip filming. It is nothing special, and I mainly made the video to share with friends and family. Since then a friend and I repeated a route you also did down the Nine Mile River. I also did some filming on this trip but I am not finished editing. Where as you guys had the right amount of water on your run, we did it in miserable water levels where we lined 75percent of the way. C'est la via. Thanks so much for sharing and keep up the great videos.
Great video as usual! Love that idea of paddling on brooks and streams that probably have never been paddled before. Question for you, how do you coils your tow ropes so neatly? And I totally agree about those noodles, I always bring one package with me on trips - add a dollop of peanut butter and a runny fried egg on top... yummy!!!
It`s always a good idea to support your local breweries and skip the mega breweries with their ”close to water” bulk lager products, even though we paddlers like it close to water otherwise…. (IPA, NEIPA, etc rule 💪)
What a great video and trip in the backyard Noah! I kept watching with awe, not knowing where you'd end up! My parents have had a creek running through their backyard since I was a kid and I've always wanted to put a cane in it, but it's only about 3 feet wide! :)
What does adventure mean to you?
Getting out there and just doing it. Challenging yourself to go farther.
@@shayetanner6431 i agree !

The smiles to miles ratio on this one was huge. Thanks. It was a joy to watch!
I love watching your skill on the river. And those smiles through gnarly circumstances...my guilty pleasure 😂
Way to go Noah. You truly did capture the backyard adventure, a far cry from your remote northern adventures yet just as captivating. I watch all the canoe/ camping channels on youtube. When it comes down to it I enjoy yours the most. Its all about character and personality.
Appreciate that Mark!

Yes! I love the Shin noodles! The cup one is perfect for ice fishing.
That is all Noah! Being a kid playing in the backyard again. The essence of adventure indeed. Thanks for sharing.
Hard core from start to finish mate. On ya for living that dream!
I can't do what you do, so your the adventure, thanks for sharing Noah.
Wow - Loved it man! V few channels get me watching from start to finish, without skipping - you're one of them. Was a 100% authentic adventure, with probably more danger than you bargained for! This is a Beau Miles quality video right there - and if you know him, you know how big of a compliment that is!
Hahahaa that is my fiancee running by when you get out on the trail! 4:21 Love that this is all in our backyard! Great video Noah!
Very cool Noah, you never cease to amaze me. I would bet 99% of people could not complete that route.
I have always believed... a skilled paddler can take any route. 🍻👍
Can't imagine what it would like to have that in my back yard. I had a little, little spring fed brook as a kid. Which I dearly loved, this is another level. Nice trip.
The undiscovered country of the nearby…. Wonderful.
I'm a local resident of the area you entered into the Ocean. I have being eyeing the majority of your route for several years, wanting to make an attempt! Now I know that with high water, this is a feasible plan! good stuff Noah! thanks for the vid.
Excellent! Keep me posted when you do attempt :)
These videos are amazing! During many of those shots I felt like I was in the stern of the canoe! I can't imagine how you're continuing the trip yet doing the camera setup so perfectly! Crazy great job!
Thanks Noah! That was fun to watch! John and Leslie
Love how excited you get to just be out exploring

Great job, Noah. What a great adventure. The scenery and the whitewater. I enjoyed that so much.
This reminds me of some of Beau Miles' work! I really dig your work here.
There was some strong influence on this one !
That was awesome buddy.
That's why I love Nova Scotia.
Adventure just outside your back door.
Looking forward to your next adventure.
Cheers Noah 👌
🚣♂️🏕Another great video! Thanks for sharing.🎣
The neighboors must have said he's crazy that guy, a 16 foot canoe in a 3 foot wide creek 😅😅
Love the video, I use the lint from the dryer, put it in a ziplock bag. This works well with a steel, no need for a lighter.
Love the video. Love finding adventure right out the front door.
Awesome video, loved the sound track too. 👌👍
We seriously enjoyed this one. What a great adventure. It's amazing the beauty and adventure one can find in their own backyard if they just dare to venture. Thank you for sharing this one!
You should have a hammock for nights like that!
Halifax - tough country - good story, good film!!
Growing up mom would say outdoors you go and let your imagination be creative. Us 5 kids always found some adventure to explore through out the season's. Still today as a 59 year it amazes what's out the back farm house door

Fantastic adventure! What a sweet campsite, that is the life! Thanks for sharing! :) :)
What an excellent video! Thanks for sharing this awesome adventure.
That was a fun one. Nice to see nature that close to your backdoor, but that's probably why you moved there.👍
Good to see you out and about, Noah!
That was pretty cool, Noah. Thanks for this. 👍🙂🏕️🛶

That dream was a real workout, well done and THANKS....Great video work
Wow! That was a RIDE!! Well done👏👏
Great video. Love the backyard approach. Keep em coming

It's a special spot for being so close
This is brilliant 👍 Thanks for sharing

This was enjoyable to watch. Despite the obstacles you always seemed to look so happy being out there. Good job on fulfilling that dream.
Luv the video.
Always enjoy your travels.
Nice to see the local stuff as well.
Nice couple of days on the old 9 mile
Nicely done.
That was a great adventure! Great determination to finish it. Thanks for the video.
What a score! That campsite was amazing. Thanks for a great video.
love this so much,. the infinite possibilities of any finite space; inward exploration I guess.
Great video, you did good job take care.
Loved this video! So fun watching you chase your inner child’s adventure cravings.

Quite the gauntlet Noah, seek, and overcome!

This is totally me! My kids would tell you I am famous for saying "let's see where this goes kids!" 😆Great video

I love this! Great job Noah!
At a boy Noah, the need for adventure runs in your veins… well done
We’ll that was an adventure to say the least! You are very ambitious my man. Good work navigating through. You must have been frozen by the end of er.
great stranger things ending!!! nice journey!
this is so cool. i wish the log jams weren't there! so awesome you suck with it!
This brought back memories. Used to do this all time here on backwater creeks trying to make it to the main river . Saw some sketchy stuff. Once I canoed right into a working methlab. 🥴

that was funny!!!! I think that was some good IPA. Cheers
Your neighbors must love chatting…! Great job, now u know! I have to say though, if that is high water calling it a creek is even exaggerating🤔🥴. U take care! THANKS
That's the Maritimes for you, It would be the same here on PEI.
Hahaha on the comment “poor man’s Gore-Tex”… should’ve called it Poor-Tex!
Great video, thanks.

Great video. This is a Beau Miles-type story

Bravo!
cool i am from Halifax in the 60s and 70s :) . nice
Great one! :)
Great video.
I like that neoprene sock idea, I'll have to start incorporating that Thanks! I also wish I could know more about that gopro mount on the canoe.
yo that 80's tune was unsuspected but worked great nice
Great video! I love backyard adventures like this.
Inspired by Beau MIles I assume?
Hey Noah, loved the video! I really appreciate the theme of this trip. I am also from Halifax and made a similar trip this spring down the MacIntosh run in Spryfield. Hey Chris! The Nine Mile is one of my favs, but you're right, it's a bit fickle, and you need to hit it at the right time. Keep exploring my man
That's great.
Mean river and creek for sure.
Noah, you are a nut!! Full stop. 👍🏻
Great video as usual! Love that idea of paddling on brooks and streams that probably have never been paddled before. Question for you, how do you coils your tow ropes so neatly? And I totally agree about those noodles, I always bring one package with me on trips - add a dollop of peanut butter and a runny fried egg on top... yummy!!!
The rope technique was learned from an old friend. I'll try to remember to show it in completion in the next video

It would be a tight squeeze but possible ?!
Those neighbour hood dogs seem more dangerous than bears or wolves
