I saw this comment and now I'm sad they didn't do this... but it's possible the song isn't entitely owned "in-house", that perhaps they'd have to pay license money to some other owner if they wanted to re-use it and figured it wasn't worth it, so they just make up new themes instead. No real excuse not to have different versions of same song, if done right, in a series as big as Soul Edge/Blade/Calibur.

the game is massively underrated and had so much hidden stuff to unlock they havent made a soul caliber that lived up to how amazing soul edge was to me but thats my 2 cents and mostly based on story/adventure mode comparison

I will not deny that I've been listening to this song majority of my night shift. If not listening, I've been humming it. God this brings back so many memories. Soul Blade was one of the first games I owned when I got my PS1. I really do miss the PS1 days.

The music was mind blowing, action dynamic and everything just perfect. Then I played a lot of Soul Edge (Soul Blade was EU title of the game, Japan and US got Soul Edge) on arcade (I never had PS1, sadly), lost a fortune, and then later on an emulator. Thank you.

The Soul Edge series is way better than that overrated Dood. You do not need to be a "Dood" to love Soul Edge/Blade/Calibur.
