Been on strict carnivore since November 8, 2020. All metabolic syndrome symptoms are long gone… and the list had 18 items. No more inflammation, no more allergy symptoms. I’m 67 and feel better than I have in 2 decades. I’m working out with great results. I weigh 6 pounds less than the day I graduated Basic Training-32” waist and a 43” chest. My physician has finally tried it and now both he and his wife are on it, too.

@@Earthmuffin78 With a big smile and great enthusiasm, I told my Dr that I no longer eat sugar or processed foods, and that I eat only high quality protein, fats, fruits and veggies. She was delighted! Of course she never asked how much of these I was consuming, and I didn't volunteer the ratios. As long as I was doing well, she didn't question, and she heard what she wanted to hear. Had I said "carnivore diet" I'm certain I would've gotten a lecture and a warning. So it's all about how you frame it to your doctor because they know so little about nutrition anyway. If they question fats, you can tell them "olive oil, avocado oil"; if they question protein you can say, "Chicken, fish, dairy", and add that you were undereating protein and needed to increase it. If asked about fruits & veggies, you can say "I love berries and greens, zuchinni, etc." They don't seem to care to hear any details so don't volunteer them.

      @meliora99 2 місяці тому

@@grottphd9090 factory farmed animals are fed mono cropped plants, and a ton more than it would take to feed a vegan. Vegans don’t even say that animals are of equal value to humans. It’s whether the intense suffering involved is worth more than temporary pleasure, which clearly it isn’t. For the individual it isn’t really any difference harvesting a human as opposed to a cow, or pig. Slaughtering humans for food would never ever be considered moral so why is it for animals

    • @grottphd9090
      @grottphd9090 2 місяці тому

@@meliora99 This is absolutely untrue, it is not difficult to imagine a scenario where eating other humans could be necessary and therefore moral. I would ascribe the life of a cow maybe 1/1000th the value of a human life. If eating beef improves a human being's life in any way, then to me it is an absolutely justified killing.
It's worth noting that livestock animals wouldn't exist at all without humans. Yes, we are killing them but we are also creating them. Is it better to live a short life or to not exist at all?

My husband had been not feeling well for a while. He had chronic back pain and gout, he had high blood pressure, no energy and just didn't feel like himself. I could see that something was off with him. In January of this year, he was diagnosed with T2 diabetes. His A1c was 12. We decided not to go with the drugs. He started the keto diet and moved to carnivore. 3 months later, he had his A1c rechecked, and it was 5.7. All his pain went away, his gout cleared up in less than 2 weeks. His blood pressure is normal, and he has his energy back. He feels amazing, and we truly enjoy eating steak pretty much every day. I have done keto for about 7 years and I find that I feel even better now that I am also carnivore, mostly. (We do eat some berries for dessert, some days.) My husband will be 60 this year, and I just turned 58. We feel better than we've ever felt. Thank you Doc!

I'm posting this on all my carnivore channels. I am a 61 yr old female, four months in, and loving it! When Dr. Chaffey says that "plants are trying to kill you", he isn't kidding. I just watched a video from "Sadhguru" and he said, "If a group of elephants come and start grazing on a particular species of trees, within 20 minutes, all the other trees (leaves) in that region belonging to that same species turn bitter and mildly poisonous. The plants are communicating, "We're being eaten up". The elephants know about it, so they will graze quickly in one place and not even bother to graze in the area, because they know they will turn bitter. So they travel further away and again start eating. SO FASCINATING!

The Joe Rogan Podcast with Dr. Baker and the ones with Mikhayla and Dr. Jordan Peterson are the videos that made me look into carnivore in the first place. Really without seeing you guys on his podcast I would have never even known about this.
I'm adding some tags here, maybe they will help Joe or one of his staff see the video.
Today for my meal I had 6 pork with just salt sausages, a random pork chop that was in the fridge from a day or two ago that needed to be eaten up and a deer meat roast. I smoked them on the smoker for a little over two hours until I reached a temp of 110f on the deer and then finished everything off on a screaming hot barbecue. The deer really only took about twenty seconds per side to get some good grill marks. The pork took a minute to fully cook.
Shawn do you ever smoke your meat if so what meats, temps & wood etc? Would be neat to know.
As always thanks Dr. Baker, please keep doing this and making these videos.

@@GeXExtremist Not at all. I don't eat the same thing every day but I could and still not get bored. Why? Because you are feeding the body what it needs and can eat it whenever you are hungry even if it's the same as before. The only reason you want so much variety on a bad diet like the Standard American Diet is because you are constantly searching for the nutrition your body needs but aren't getting it. Once you go carnivore that problem is solved. A fat and protein only diet with meat at it's center is the proper diet for humans. You end up eating once, maybe twice a day, because you stay satiated for hours on end. This is the opposite of carbs and processed garbage where you eat several meals a day and still not get satiated. This leads to weight gain and bad health eating all that sugar and chemicals.
I eat all the cuts of steak, all the different roasts, ground beef, prime rib, beef ribs, pork ribs, chicken, turkey, bacon, eggs, and the list goes on. Yesterday I had a chuck roast that I put in the sous vide for 36 hours then seared it on all sides. It was melt in your mouth tender and delicious. Today I'm having homemade wings. I even make my own bread, rolls, buns, tortillas, etc. out of egg whites. I sometimes I even make homemade ice cream. If I need mayonnaise, ketchup, or any other condiments, besides mustard, I make it myself. This way I avoid all the soy, preservatives, and other chemicals big food uses that is bad for your body and health. Making your own sauces and bread is not difficult, it's actually really easy.

@@groove1486 Mustard is about the only condiment you don't have to avoid at the grocery store. Take a look at the label with the ingredients and nutritional info. Very clean. Mustard has some natural preservatives so no chemicals needed. Here are two recipes for ketchup and mayonnaise that are easy.
      Ketchup:
      Ingredients
      • 1/2 cup brown sweetener (Allulose, Monkfruit, etc.)
      • 1/2 tsp xanthan gum
      • 1 cup water
      • 6 oz. tomato paste
      • 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
      • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
      • 1/2 tsp onion powder
      • 1/2 tsp sea salt or Redmond's Real Salt
      • 1/8 tsp ground cloves or less, according to taste
      Instructions
      1. In a 1 quart saucepan, whisk together the sweetener and xanthan gum, then add the water and turn up the heat to medium. Whisk until the sweetener has dissolved and you have a simple syrup.
      2. Add the tomato sauce and vinegar and whisk until the sauce is a uniform consistency.
      3. Add the spices, lower the temperature to low or medium-low and simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring whenever it bubbles. The longer you simmer, the thicker, darker and richer your ketchup will be.
      4. Remove from heat and let cool for at least 15 minutes before transferring to a container. Due to the acidity of the vinegar, this should keep in the fridge for at least a month, if not longer.

      Mayonnaise:
      Ingredients
      • 1 large fresh organic Egg, room temp
      • 1 Tbs Dijon mustard
      • 1/4 Tsp white wine vinegar
      • Dash of sea salt (or more to taste)
      • 1 cup MCT oil or any safe tasteless clear oil that is not bad for you like seed oils.
      • 1 tsp lemon juice

      Instructions
      1. Add Egg, mustard, vinegar and salt into food processor (or stand mixer using the whisk attachment) and blend for 20 seconds. Scrape sides. Turn on processor and very slowly, add a few drops of oil until you see it begin to thicken.
      2. Then continue adding the oil in a thin slow stream. After all oil has been added and blended, add the lemon juice and blend an additional 10 seconds. Taste and add extra salt, lemon or vinegar so it’s to your liking!
      3. Store in an air tight container or jar in the back of the fridge to keep longer.
      4. Makes 1 cup.
I have many others but most I learned from different channels here on UA-cam. I usually adapt them to my tastes though.

Suffered a major concussion in Oct '18 : facial bones pulverized, 24/7 splitting headaches, no balance, compromised blood flow regulation, light/sound sensitivity, crippling fatigue, emotional dysregulation, executive dysfunction, all the TBI symptoms.
Went keto mid-December after reading it was suggested to NHL/NFL players post-concussion ... 24h later I was free from headaches, but the rest of the symptoms stuck. Took 6 months before I could take a 100m walk without feeling like I got flattened by a semi. A year until I could go back to work, part-time, and pass out from the strain (teaching college maths). Which is when covid hit and I burnt out. Cue another year of disability/burn-out/depression. Gained 30 lbs and achieved no progress.
Then Dec '20 I start carnivore. I had attempted vegan keto (felt like garbage) and high meat keto (felt great) so went all-in. A month later I was hitting 2h of PT every day. Kept that pace for 6+months. Lost 45lbs, solved all of my symptoms save for executive dysfunction and general fatigue (now 90% better on ADD meds). Back to work part-time last year, and now full-time this year. Complete turnaround.
Any time I've tried to reintroduce anything whatsoever that wasn't salt or animal flesh, I get days to a week of arthritic pains, headaches, tendon flare-ups and/or massively depressed episodes. So it's not like I have any choice, but I'm carnivore for good. It quite literally saved my life.

Had stage 3a kidney disease prior, now, NO kidney disease and my kidney doctor asked me what I did. Carnivore diet. He just said be sure I take a good daily multi-vitamin like "Centrum" LOL!!! The only lab that is now out of line is my LDL cholesterol. I do have high HDL, low triglycerides, A1C is 5.1, though. So, I did quit taking my statins. (which is part of why my LDL went up, but, I feel fine). My blood pressure is lower than it has been in 35 years. Always below 120/80. People that discount or discredit this diet do so because they love bread, sugar, junk food and cake. Let them eat cake! Me? I'll stick to my beef, butter bacon and eggs! Mostly, OMAD onemealaday (little bit of cheese and nuts at times, too). So glad I found you and this diet. Maybe, just maybe I'll be around and be physically able to babysit my great grandchildren in 20 years.

Me too... I just got home from hospital. I had been doing carnivore and getting great results. Last Wednesday I thought I was having a heart attack... I thought carnivore had killed me.holesterol had killed me. BUT NO... Depleted potassium levels caused my heart to race out of control (arrythmia). I had no blood pumping through my arteries or, at least very little... I called an amblance and was taken to the nearest cardio center... People my Ejection fraction was 13 - 17% before carnivore. It was 20 - 25 percent after doing carnivore for 3 -4 weeks. And all other markers looked good enough that the Hospitalist gave me the green light to resume the diet when I got home (I have to go get more hamberger now), he only expressed that this was new and I should do it with the supervision of my Primary Care Dr.... There is so much more I could tell you. But I have recieved a lot of the same benefits Mr Rogan got. Whether you are a Chritian are not this carnivore diet is a gift from God.... What is awesome about this is I have been eating 24 ounces of 80/20 a day Hey, I can't afford ribeyes like ole steak and butter gal (due to the condition of my teeth I would not be able to chew it anyway)... And This is to Mr Rogan I have recently rekindled my connection to God... Call me...

I'm more concerned about maintaining the animal food supply. I wondered what ChatGPT could say about this, but because it is so Woke and vegan biased I presented it as a debate for and against animal products. I then told it to write an introduction to 'the debate' as a pro rancher, which is included below. Perhaps we can take this debate forward to a successful conclusion.
    --------- ChatGPT -----------
Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed members of the audience, and honorable opponents, today we gather here to discuss a crucial topic that affects not only the livelihoods of ranchers but also the dietary choices of individuals worldwide. The situation facing ranchers today is one of low demand, high costs, and a negative narrative against animal products. As a proponent of the ranchers' position, I firmly believe that animal products are not only an essential part of our diet but also vital for the sustainability of our environment and the well-being of individuals with specific health conditions.
While our opposition may propose replacing animal products with artificial alternatives, we must recognize that such a one-size-fits-all approach fails to consider the diverse nutritional needs of individuals. Numerous studies and empirical evidence have demonstrated that people suffering from autoimmune deficiencies often experience significant health improvements on an all-animal diet. Restricting their access to animal products by advocating for their replacement with artificial alternatives could be detrimental to their well-being.
Furthermore, we must not disregard the significant benefits that animal waste brings to the environment and the farming industry as a whole. Animal waste serves as a natural fertilizer, enriching crops, grasslands, and forests. This symbiotic relationship between animals and the environment has been practiced for centuries, ensuring a sustainable cycle of nourishment for both flora and fauna.
Now, as we delve deeper into this debate, let us consider three ways in which we can support ranchers, help them improve their herds, lower costs, and ultimately enhance their selling price:
Research and Development: Investing in research and development within the ranching industry can yield significant advancements. By exploring innovative breeding techniques, improving animal genetics, and implementing efficient feeding practices, we can enhance the overall quality of herds. Such improvements would not only result in healthier and more productive animals but also contribute to lowering costs for the ranchers.
Education and Support: Providing ranchers with the necessary education and support systems can be instrumental in helping them navigate the challenges they face. Knowledge sharing on best practices, herd management, and sustainable farming methods can empower ranchers to make informed decisions and optimize their operations. Additionally, financial support programs and grants can assist them in adopting new technologies and improving infrastructure, further reducing costs and increasing their selling price.
Promoting Positive Narratives: The negative narrative against animal products has significantly impacted the demand for ranchers' products. It is essential to counteract this narrative by highlighting the benefits of responsibly sourced animal products in a balanced diet. Educating consumers about the nutritional value, the vital role of animal agriculture in supporting rural economies, and the sustainable practices employed by many ranchers can help reshape public perceptions and increase demand.
In conclusion, it is crucial to recognize the invaluable role that animal products play in our diets and the wider ecosystem. By supporting ranchers, improving their herds, lowering costs, and promoting positive narratives, we can ensure the continuation of a sustainable and balanced food system that respects the nutritional needs of individuals and supports the livelihoods of hardworking ranchers. Let us engage in this debate with an open mind, considering the well-being of both humans and the environment we inhabit.

Hi Shawn, I've been following you for about 7 years now, and have been on carnivore on and off alot since then. This past week I decided to go "monkmode" with it, and gave up on coffee, flavoured waters, sauces, anything you can think of that people sometimes like to include in their carnivore diet, and I only drank about a litre of raw milk (from a local dairy farm), a little bit of water because it's really hot outside right now, and meat. No OMAD, I started the morning with a big glass of milk and ate some storebought meat throughout the day aiming for around 2350 cals (trying to lose 20lbs). I've noticed extreme cognitive improvements, being able to remember, or if you will, not forget as much as I usually do, had a great mood, great energy, and fell asleep in burning heat effortlessly. I've also already lost 4lbs in a week and the longest time I ever did carnivore (OMAD) for 6 weeks straight around 5 years ago, I lost 18lbs that time as well.

I'm approaching my 1 year mark on carnivore and did allow myself to make a seafood chowder yesterday.Fried some pork belly in the instant pot then used the fat to sweat some onion and celery then put in a good amount of clam juice to cook 4 lbs of russet potatoes that I bought just a few hours before(no vegetables on hand for the last year). I then put in 1 lb of shrimp and scallops and 1/2 stick of butter. When the seafood was cooked I added 1 pint of heavy cream and a good sprig of parsley. The only spices were a couple bay leaves and black pepper. There is a large amount of leftovers as we only ate a good size bowl each. I made sure to peel the potatoes to mimimize the oxilates. I feel fine this morning considering that is the only carbs/veggies I've eaten in almost a year. July 9th was when I started. Weight was 172,bmi=26 and this morning weight is 132.bmi=16. Now going for my 5 miles,10k step usual morning exercise. I'm considering light weight training but will have to dig the old weights out of a very overfilled basement. lol
