You know what? I had the same feeling in the beginning, mostly because you can hear the lyrics so clearly, but I think that the punk-anger of the original still cuts deeper. It's that anger of "not having that person anymore and powerless to do anything" that really does it for me. Loved the tune nevertheless, eh, we're discussing another thing here!

Ok, seriously this is fucking amazing. Usually, when UA-cam fun-cover artists do Jazz they don't really think about song composition as much as "hey, let's get as many 'jazzy' things in crammed in as possible." But this, this is in another ballpark. This sounds like the song in the Copa Cabana in GoodFellas. In fact, it feels like it would be on the soundtrack of a luscious, indulgent gangster flick directed by Jack Black.
This reminds me of listening to this song a lot as a depressed goth teenager, now I can picture myself sitting in a smoky jazz bar, instead of my dark tiny bedroom. Thanks. Nice job. 👍

True story, I fell in love with thia song when I was younger and my dad used to come home and beat my mom. I listened to this song alone in my room. When I joined the Army, this song played in the Starbucks on my way to Basic Training and I knew everything was going to be okay. Still, as special as this song is to me, I believe that you did a fantastic job and I appreciate you bringing light to my favorite song. Thank you from the U.S. to the Philippines, where I am now.

My parents are chronic alaholics, my dad can never hold a job, my mom cheated on my dad more than once, neither of them have their highschool leaving, and it's safe to say most of my relatives could be considered trash. Teen life is difficult growing up with that but I'm glad I made it through all the struggle and poverty to not create the same mistakes for my family.

I feel this cover pulls the emotion from the original lyric and shows the true capabilities of a song. The emphasis that comes with the style of jazz in this case takes what was a simple rock song and presents such a tranquil yet strong feeling in the listener.
