As I writing this I'm stock on the side of the road with my 2000 dodge 3500, it started overheating, I was wondering if I take off the thermostat just to climb the grade on a I 15 going to Barstow California, I'm hauling a forklift with my trailer, do you guys think that would help the truck nor overheat, any advise, thanks and God bless
Most of the time the color is just a dye. What matters is the chemical makeup of the coolant. In this case, assuming it's never been swapped from the original kind, Zerex G-05 is a perfect replacement and it just happens to be dyed yellow.
My Cummins temperature goes higher then 200f when I keep the truck on 70mph or higher but then it comes back to 200 or less if I drive it less then 60pmh was this the same issue you ware having ?
I'm having the same issue but at about 80mph or higher. Did you end up solving your issue? I'm going to start with the thermostat and coolant temp sensor, and then if that doesn't work I'll try the fan clutch

Why were you replacing your thermostat?
Great video man! Just wondering if it’s OK to top off with yellow coolant when the stuff you pumped out was red?
