I have been using 50wt cotton thread for piecing and 80/12 needle. As you recommend for curved pieces I'll use 80wt. What size needle do you recommend to use?
For an 80wt thread, you can use an 80/12 size needle with it. This is a standard size needle.

80 wt thread and press seams open. I will give that a try. I am tired of messing up pieces. 😒
