Seeing you actually sewing the curves was very helpful. I like watching you sew. You do beautiful stitches, blocks, and quilts. You make me want to try curves.
Great tutorial! I think you've given me the courage to try curved piecing. Billy, I thought the sound in this video was perfect! Thank you for your dedication to quality videos!
Billy-those of us who are more seasoned sewers could see the technique your mom was using, so no worries. Sherry-your verbal explanation was really great. Have never tried a drunkard's path, but going to give it a try now. Thanks!💕💫
My favourite block. I sitting here curled up under my drunkard path quilt that I made as my very first quilt. This quilt was made 45 yrs. ago with cardboard templates and hand sewn. 😂🤣 mistake galore. But all that being said I use it everyday during the winter months. I have full intentions to make it again, but this time with a machine and a lot more skill. Thanks for sharing your tutorial, simple and easy to follow. 👍❤️😊
Great tutorial thank you. Wish I would have had that ruler 30 years ago. I made a Red & White Drunkards Path King sized quilt. I trace with a pencil around a template and then cut every piece out with scissors my hands were killing me. :). BTW I did hand quilt it also. That took me forever.
Excellent tutorial!!! Thank you. Billy it was truly fine. ⭐️would love a simple sew along for a wall hanging on small lap quilt to practice curve piecing. It’s very intimidating but you make it look so easy. 💕
Great tutorial. Like you I like to keep the background piece on top while sewing. It helps me avoid "pleats" in the background piece. I use the term "keep the smile on top" to remind myself which way to lay the pieces while at the machine. The curve on the background reminds me of a smile.
This was great Sherri!!! You made it look much more doable than I ever thought it could be!! Thank you for the clear instructions and awesome tutorial!!
Donna Jordan from Jordan fabrics uses a notched ruler and no pin method. I have done hundreds of drunkard path blocks and it is the easiest method I have ever used
This is a great tutorial.. your quilts are beautiful..just a quick note when I need to make a template I use flexible cutting mats from Walmart .. they are inexpensive and they have a bumpy size so they don’t move around.! I love watching your videos. Thank you so much!
This is one block I use my Sewline fabric glue for instead of pins. I have tried both ways and find the glue to be more successful and easier to sew. Thanks for your video!
I love this block! I saw the video where you demo'd the Daybreak pattern a couple weeks back and got myself the Circle Savvy ruler after I saw that. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but I'm looking forward to making your Daybreak mini! I love the Balboa, too!
This was a very good tutorial explaining the way you cut/sewed these DP blocks. Thank you so much! I’m about to make a baby blanket for our new grand we’re expecting. I think the fabric would be so adorable made with a pattern like this. Awesome job as always! Great job Billy! No worries ~ mom takes the exact amount of time explaining this and the angle was good to see how her left hand maneuvers the fabric. That’s very important. Thank you, too, for your great work with the camera. 💙
Thank you for the tutorial! This curved piecing reminds me of making face masks for Covid. For that project, we made little snips around the curve where we sewed. Would you do that for the blocks you showed today? If not, when is it appropriate to snip along that curve?
Oh Sherri you do it the hard way. You really should try the method from Its Sew Wonderful. Those girls have a method with no pins that works perfect everytime.
hi sherry i write you from mexico. i get the color girl quilt classic curve rules my question how do you used it' THANKS FOR ATTENTION. i love this video because shows how you work i hope yo have more like this
Love Billy's little comment on the angle! You are human!!! Wonderful video.

Thank you so much for the tutorial. It made the idea of curved piecing a lot less scary. Thank you. 🥰❤️

Thanks for the video. I didn't know about this ruler. It's always good to learn something new.
Reminds me of setting in sleeves on a garment; same technique for shoulder curve.
Sherri ~ thank you so much for another wonderful tutorial. Your teaching method is splendid! Very inspiring!

You can sew both cutoff pieces together then square up to smaller piece. My grandmother made fan quilts and this is what she did
Great timing of this topic for me. I’m working on a New York Beauty quilt and piecing the curves has been the most challenging. Thank you.
Thank you for this tutorial 💕 I may be brave enough to try curved piecing.😊

The pie on the bottom method worked like a dream! Thank you!

Thank you thank you, Sherri! I’ve been quilting (piecing only) for a year and now feel I can try one of my curved piecing patterns!! 💞
Billy, you’re lighting and camera are perfect. Great job

Absolutely love this video, it was so very helpful to me! Thank you so very much!♥
Thanks Sherri - Great instructions!
This was a great tutorial!! Did my first drunkards path using same size cutting , then had to trim everything down. This was a eye opener!!

Why did you use 2 different sizes for the pie shape and the other shape?
That was great!! You are an excellent teacher!! I didn’t notice a bad angle Billy.😊
Loved this tutorial. Thank you .
I use transparent plastic placemats from the dollar store. Cheap and easy to cut. And you can use a marker and write on it.
For templates
Great tutorial, have saved it in my folder for future reference.
great tutorial, thanks!
Just like setting a sleeve in a garment

Thank you for this tutorial. I love drunkards path. Will you always cut your background an Inch smaller than the pie?
Do you see a need to ever snip the curves? I am going to try a drunkards path using the MSQC ruler pieces.
