Chester County has lots of hunters / firearm enthusiasts. Its always been noisy around here every year this time (esp. during hunting season) since as long as I can remember. There used to be lots of pheasant & deer hunting back in the early to late 1970's before developers came in and bought out large farms and parcels of land where the cornfields and hedgerows were. Much quieter now, but not as aesthetically pleasing as it was back then (imo)
I've noticed you have avoided Chester County's high point. I found the high point on the map and saw the quarry and was wondering if it was not accessible. You answered my question!
You were 10 minutes from. MY house!!! In one the fields off of laurel lane (maybe 20 minute walk) there is an old foundation to a house of some sort. I hunted sgl043 for years and never found it until last hunting season. Also a quarry/mine by it as well. They also were doing alot to work to the tower last year. It now towers over the trees and can be seen from hopewell rd and cold run rd. It's nice to see videos of my area......btw......the field by the tower has what I call the "body dump" the GW throws deer carcasses in it. You'll know when your near it in the summer.
A very nice hike. There are shooting ranges near us and the down the hill, the neighbors there often shoot on Sunday afternoons. Other than that, our woods is wonderfully quiet. Thanks for sharing!
This was a nice winter hike. Enjoyed the scenery and always enjoy your videos. I did worry about you with the firing range out there. Worry about stray bullets, but you were confident in where you were going! Look forward to the next adventure.
You know what they say, if you can't beat em, join em. Good video overall, nice area, looks like my woods. Keep your head down, never know which way they are shooting, hope they have good backstops.
As usual that was fantastic thanks Cliff. I thought all views were beautiful. Love seeing the tress, dressed or not still beautiful. Thanks so much for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
Sounds like Freedom. It's one of the main reasons that we shooters would like suppressors to be more accessible (legal and affordable). We hike, camp and shoot but don't like disturbing others that may be near . Thx. for the video Cliff.
Gun fire is considered nominal background noise in Chester county. The wild life is neither disturbed nor surprised by it and mostly responsible for it!
Thanks WW! The county to my east. The gun shot were hunters sighting in for hunting season I suppose. Nice to see the winter view! Joy of Spirit WW! DaveyJO
Support the hearing protection act, makes Suppressors more available like in most of Europe. Better for firearms enthusiasts and those around shooting ranges
I lived in Lower Oxford Township for 13 years. , My parents lived in West fallowship, TWP, Remember my dad talking about the Welch Mts . He said in the 30 you did not go to the area and never at night , it was a rough area.Been to French Creek St Park several times and I heard stories of people who got lost in the area , took awhile to find their wat out.
Hi Cliff the highest point in both Lancaster and Chester is the lanchester landfill in Honeybrook Pa. They have stargazing platforms to veiw the sky at night.
Tough hike with snow and rocks. Do you ever use a hiking stick?? Would you consider doing a video on planning for a hike? You know talking about it equipment, where you get your ideas for the various hikes, hiking groups Etc?
I would like to point out that hunting and fishing funds help to pay for and maintain public lands. Consider buying licenses to help in saving public lands
I love the high point series! Not many high points here in Hell-Annoy... our highest natural point is way in the NW part of the state, which the glaciers missed when scouring the land around here totally flat! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Mound
Hi Cliff, a real shame about all the noisy activity at the gun range but I guess it is what it is. Have you noticed just how many natural hiking area's are close to gun ranges ??, I don't know why they can't put the ranges closer to towns/cities as the noise would just get drowned out by all the traffic noise etc. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 🙏💖
Hey Cliff, as always, enjoy your videos! Just curious, I'm in Philadelphia County, looks like you had it in green on your map, what was the highest point here? The 2nd Comcast Tower? Just kidding lol! To me, it looks like a big pack of cigarettes, with the lighted spiral looking like a cigarette coming out of it! You made me smile with your comments about the shooting ☺ range, "I don't want to complain too much!" That's okay! There is a VFW post in back of my house a few blocks away where they also have a shooting range, sometimes hear it at 4am! Like you, I also try not to complain too much !! Stay safe!!
You have nothing to worry about. Were he was and were they were are in two different directions plus they have some pretty good backstops to catch the bullets.

I would wear some orange this time of year, even if it’s just a hat.
" You gotta share the world with other people " Thank You.....

Love seeing the map. I do understand how you feel about the noise. Even though muddy, beautiful with the snow. Thx for taking me along.🥰
Great video 👍
It sounds like World War 3 up there man! Great hike! The snow provides some absolutely beautiful footage!

Great to see you here in Chester County.
love all your videos

Thanks for saying that at the end. We all have to have a place to have fun. But sorry it was so noisy for ya
Hi Cliff~ I see snow where you are. Come hike in So Cal. it was 86 degrees with a warm breeze toay.
I don't blame you for attempting to find a quieter route to the top.
As usual that was fantastic thanks Cliff. I thought all views were beautiful. Love seeing the tress, dressed or not still beautiful. Thanks so much for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
Just there today, nice views on both sides. Found what looks like an old watchtower converted into a cell tower

Verry well said couldn't agree more

How profound
Haha, I didn’t think the gunshots were that loud, guess we got some city boys here
I love your videos..I live in Lehigh Valley ,PA and hike the spots you go to!
Thx for taking me along.....irritating yes, but fun.
I grew up there and it looks the same but i am sure many more people, and yea everyone in Pa. Owns a gun. Thanks for the memories.
Nothing wrong with going off the beaten path. Thank you for the hike. Look forward to when you get closer to Ohio.
Thanks WW! The county to my east. The gun shot were hunters sighting in for hunting season I suppose. Nice to see the winter view! Joy of Spirit WW! DaveyJO
The “money rocks” are close to the limestone quarry you talk about. Maybe that’ll be a good trail for u to hike.
Congratulations on another high point capture! 😊
Thanks Cliff

No way should we let people have silencers. What kind of little bitch can’t deal with the sounds of guns! Must be some city boys here!
You should use hiking poles. It would help you keep from sliding. Nice video!

Nice ! Cliff !
You completed county #37. Will you venture out of PA to do other interesting hikes?
Hi Cliff the highest point in both Lancaster and Chester is the lanchester landfill in Honeybrook Pa. They have stargazing platforms to veiw the sky at night.
Not the highest point for either county, check out www.peakbaggers.com or www.peakvisor.com
I would say 965 feet is close enough. That rocky slope looks like a potential ankle breaker.
This is what I want to do but I need a travel companion. I want to explore the nooks and crannies of Pennsylvania and farther.
Tough hike with snow and rocks. Do you ever use a hiking stick?? Would you consider doing a video on planning for a hike? You know talking about it equipment, where you get your ideas for the various hikes, hiking groups Etc?
Don't use a hiking stick or poles, need my hands free to use the camera.
Is this near Chester Ridge? ..I heard that's Bigfoot Country😊

Yes, according to what I've read the highest point in Chester Co. is near Honey Brook..... Yeah, leave the trespassing to us locals😜😅😅
Somebody got ammo
"Second highest point... not private property" Yeah, wouldn't be good to send viewers to get arrested! 🤣🤣🤣

Chestnut Hill
It was in someone's backyard.

I live in Myrtle Beach SC. I earnestly desire to seek out historical sights on my part of woods.
What is that noise guns?
Yes. There's a public shooting range there.
Looks too cold to be in the woods.
We are wondering how you hold your camera so steady? Are you using some kind of harness or something to hold it?
The sony AX43 has an internal gimbal system.
Cliff - I'm having to resubscribe to your channel at least twice a month. What's with UA-cam?
Not really sure what's happening.
Very cool literally...also i would have been ducking with every shot🙃
Me too.
Me too!

I live in africa...enough said...🙈🙉
If that person was attempting to true in his rifle he was having a difficult time .
That range is a pain in the ass with people anymore. People trashed it and dont follow rules. There have so been some shooting incidents there
People in Chester county generally have a problem following rules.
@@R.C.1161 you can say that again. I love when its gang banger day......they all try to be scarface.
