That was helpful, amigo. Thinking about buying one of these for a friend who wants to do some podcasting and it looks like this will fit the bill. It's always a pleasure for me to find others out there with a passion for making music and who try to share it with others.
thanks a lot. you have put in a lot of efforts in making this video. very informative. appreciate it. just one silly question. why are you not using the behringer as the audio interface ? why is the focusrite being used ?
Hi James , a very helpful review. Thank you ! Would you please explain how you conect Focusrite Solo and give an example how STREAM TO MONITOR AND STREAM TO MIX work in live situation ? Also I am completely stuck trying to set up Fx Send and Return ... Many thanks again !!!
Hello, mate. Good video, plenty of info. How many selectable inputs are there in the DAW? As I must connect 5 individual devices, I worry there won’t be enough inputs in the DAW to separately record the 5 devices separately…
Hello @andrelubbock, I connect the Behringer Xenyx 802s to the Audio interface because the Behringer USB only supports 41khz where the Focusrite support up to 192khz.
Hi. Where should you go next an external subwoofer if the 2 main output are used by the 2 speakers? What is FX? There is a way to have some reverb to the voice? Thank u
Wouldn't you use amp between the main from mixer and the speakers? I'm not sure if the mixer can be hooked directly to the speakers. Never actually tried, I have it (I have 502, just thinking about upgrading to 802) going to my home hi-fi amp. Then all the speakers and sub woofer go out from the amp. If you use speakers directly, I've read the RCA out are basically wired parallel to the main-out, so they could be used for sure. Or the monitor out, where you will get separate volume control. Fx is the line to the effects. There are no effects in the mixer, but it you have effect board/pedals you can take the signal from Fx out to the effect (be it reverb or anything else) and route it back via the Line in 7/8. Of course, you need to select (using the Fx knob) what goes to the effect - like if you want only your voice, then make sure all but your mic channel Fx knobs are at zero. I plan to plug a looper in that line. Hope it will work, haven't found video with that setup yet 🙂

Funny there was an echo the beginning BUT this was a good and efficient video. Thanks!

Hi James. Why do you connect the mixer to the audio interface instead of using the mixer USB to go direct to computer. Thanks

love this review. can you connect it to your computer without using the focusrite?
Yes
Nice video, do you know what the difference is between the 802 USB model and the 802 S?
The Q802USB has dynamic compression. The 802S does not. The 802S has 6 mono 1/4" inputs. The Q802USB has 4.
usb multi-track recording available?

Hello how you use fx?
use the fx knobs to introduce to each channel
Can I use it as audio interface? No need to connect to another audio interface
Yes you can. James said "Behringer USB only supports 41khz" but I haven't found any proof of that.
Hmmmm...audio advice from someone who can't make an echo-free recording. Pass...
you have over compressed you voice. the vocals are mushy.
