This song was played at my 8 year old sons funeral. He saw you in Melbourne in November 2018. It was as that last gig he went to. Can’t thank you enough
These guys really bring some much needed humanity to the genre, it doesn't always have to be "death blood and skulls" or "nobody understands me because I'm in highschool" there's a grey area where parkway sits that's just simply great music.
streetz86 neither is ronnie radke but that hasn't stopped him from building a career of pretending to be. Them being in highschool wasn't the point...Wasn't even supposed to be implied, really.
Al Rogers agreed. I've been passing on my love of all things metal, especially Metallica to my 5 years old grandson. Soooooo friggin awesome to hear him sing Thunderstruck too though! Great to see it through a little one's eyes.
My step-dad passed away yesterday morning. Him and I used to spend time together listening to our favorite music, and this was a song he introduced me to a month or so ago that I fell in move with. I'm here to pick out music for his viewing on Wednesday; I think he'd like to hear this song again one last time. I love you John, you were like the father I never had. ❤️
That guitar riff at the the start lures you in, and then the video and Winston's amazing screams trap you. The epic guitar solo at the end leaves you repeating the song again and again...
my 3 year old son loves this song and that there is a plane in it. I normally put on baby lullabies to put him to sleep but tonight wasn't having it and he made me put this on 6 times until he fell asleep to it. Every time is was over "airplane song again!". I think I may be parenting properly?
This song is no where near as heavy as I was expecting but it has a really great uplifting vibe to it which is a good counter to how gloomy Atlas was in places.
Can we all take a minute to appreciate how well shot and directed this video is?! And I'm actually really starting to enjoy the song, sure it's different but it's uplifting and fun. Nothing wrong with that!
Jake Bolt The director has done a bunch of awesome videos. He directed Asking Alexandria's Through sin and self destruction short film and the death of me video. Chill guy.
I can't count the number of times I've heard people say that heavy metal music has nothing to offer.... there's nothing to it....it's just noise....nothing uplifting about it. This song, along with many others, is VERY uplifting. "One life...one shot....GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT!!!!!!"
Did any of you guys think about the fact that Vice Grip could just be for live shows, something to get the crowd excited? Or since the new album is called Ire, this is the first song and the album gets progressively darker and heavier. This song isn't perfect but I still like it. Just because its lighter and overall pretty different from their other stuff, doesn't mean they're selling out. Don't jump to conclusions. Also, I don't know why I've seen so many people are hating on ABR's new album on this video. Its fucking awesome, nearly as good as Rescue and Restore.
This song sends such a great message for people to get out and live they're life to fullest regardless of what the world throws at them to keep fighting instead of laying down to die you have to spring back up higher and 1000x more powerful just to show haters or problems that you can crush them down faster than they can break you
Absolutely. Fucking. Epic. I just went through the most hellish year of my life, and through strength I didn't even know existed, I have begun building a life worth living again. This song is a monument to those who lost hope. Never give up, you are stronger than you know. The light in the darkness!!! Fuck Yeah PWD, you fucking nailed it! You get knocked down, you get the fuck back up and you fucking FIGHT!
Thank you for your comment, brother! Life is good now, but the road has been more difficult than anything I could have ever predicted. If there are any ways I can reach out and help others who are down in whatever way, then that is what I will do. It is through the kindness of strangers and the beauty of humanity that I am here today able to type these words. Yes, humans can be ugly and do terrible things to each other, but our capacity for good is just as limitless. On topic, it seems like a rather sizable portion of Parkway Drives' music is geared towards Strength: not strength of arms, but the Strength of brotherhood (sister too!), Strength of character, strength of compassion, Strength to help others and do whats right! "Twelve years I’ve fought for this Twelve years, my heart still beats For the ones who’ve stood beside me Through the values that define me No compromise, no surrender These beliefs, they make me whole Never the breaker, promise keeper Remains the ethic instilled in me" - Parkway Drive "Dedicated" -
My daughter introduced me to these guys. Went and saw them at a little spot called the limelight in Peoria Illinois. I'm hooked. Ire is in my cd player as we speak
It doesn’t sounds like other PWD stuff, but this song is fucking awesome! Honestly i liked so much, but i really hope the rest of IRE sounds more aggressive! Long live Parkway Drive! lmL
Carlos Salazar Agree not the most heavy stuff.. not too big fan of the anthem shouting.. but other than that pretty solid track.. Like his new style of extra added vocals. The video is fucking awesome though! Looking forward to hearing the rest :D
Ramul I dig this track sort of being completely different to anything they've ever done. I mean change isn't always bad, and they've done it perfectly. But I agree, some heavier stuff would be nice on this new album. So stoked for the Aussie tour too! \m/
Carlos Salazar From what I've read about the new album, this track is set to be the lightest one on the record. I don't want to speak too soon, but I will anyway: Get ready for some bone-crushing brutalness guys!
PWD - "Wild Eyes", 2013. Harmonic chanting to fill in and bring together the vocals. Good song. Nobody complains. PWD - "Vice Grip", 2015. a sing-along section in the chorus to get the crowd hype live. Outraged fans saying how "soft" they got and how they "sold out" to the mainstream.
Just discovered these guys recently. Needed this. I was already certifiably traumatized by 2009, and I've been in another crisis since 2013. This song makes me remember all the...bravado I used to have. I used to think I could just _will_ my way through the hard times.
ChealyTheNinja I agree with you. The guy above probably listens to Djent and says all other bands are shit because they don't have 35 break downs in their songs that play at 85 bpm!
I love it, people don't seem to realize that PWD have chant-style songs like this on every album, just listen to Wild Eyes or Home is for the Heartless. This song is going to be so badass at a show.
Gotta say, I was blessed enough to be at the filming of this, and got to meet the whole PD crew. Winston is one of the coolest dudes I’ve met. Love you guys. Keep up the good stuff :)
I actually really dig this, usually when bands go lighter it just ends up sounding boring but this has an 80s flavour imo and it's really catchy, I think this new sound will help them grow onto bigger things... That's if the whole album is like this, for all we know it might still be the usual
I was alternating between, pacing, sitting staring at a wall, and chainsmoking because I honestly didn't know what to do with myself. This track got me to focus, put all the bullshit to the back of my head and allowed to function again. Please, keep doing what you do.
Yeah. I was freaking out, no longer. I really need my brain to turn off though. It grabs an idea and runs with it until extinguished, regardless of how small, upsetting or infuriating that idea might be. I research until most of the available information has been exhausted and or verified. Doesn't matter if its 6am or midnight. Very irritating, actually. Also, rapists deserve the electric chair. Don't fucking do that shit. Especially not to anyone I know, you assholes with no self control. You know who you are, and I'm judging you. Just pissed I don't get to sit on the jury.
i fuck with the 80s vibe on this one, and i doubt that this is what the whole album will sound like. they've been experimenting with "uplifting" songs sparingly, like Dream Run, and they've said in interviews that the new album still maintains their core sound. also, they've been a band for over 10 years now, they aren't going to write shit like Gimme A D or Smoke Em If You Got Em anymore lol they've toned down on their angst since they are in their 30s. still...i miss the harmonized tapping riffs
MURD3R3D i feel you man, i still fuckin love the old songs, but i think PWD always switch it up a tiny bit with each album, which is why they are so awesome (in my opinion) haha. i'm just really excited to hear the full thing!
Dear Parkway Drive, you guys have helped me. Stopped me from doing harm to myself and saving my life. This song means the world to me, I got VICE GRIP tattooed on my knuckles...this song literally saved me from hurting myself.. this song means everything to me and I'll go to my grave with VICE GRIP on my knuckles.. Thank you Parkway Drive for saving another brother with depression and anxiety life!!
Some bands change. Some end up going to the right way and Some go the wrong way. Parkway is going to the right way and people need to accept that. I still love them! screw the haters
For what hair metal? The genre that almost killed off metal. Trash was late 80s early 90s. The 80s is stupid as shit. Only good shit to come out of the 80s was hardcore punk.
+Mladen Rusov Thousands of adults gathering to scream the national anthem , kids going to school to learn to scream so they could take part in the national anthem Life would be complete I'd just need to Australian then
I absolutely love metal with a positive message. I find it so unique and never fails to make me smile and feel great no matter what so thanks for this guys and keep rocking on and being fucking amazing 👊
Wow I remember listening to this when I was struggling with fentynal addiction, I was so far gone, that was over 6 years ago, been clean 5 years now, it's wild how time flies, so many friends dead, so many friends lost to these drugs, god had other plans for me though, I chose life ♥️
It's been years since I lost the closest person to me. You never really get over it. This song reminds me that life is unpredictable, sometimes painful, but you need to be strong no matter what
Yes, Parkway! Yes!
Cole Rolland Any PWD covers coming up in celebration? :D
Cole Rolland vice grip cover next then. Dooo itttt!
Ohhh shit you listen to parkway drive ??? Why dont u do covers or anything related to pwd
This song was played at my 8 year old sons funeral. He saw you in Melbourne in November 2018. It was as that last gig he went to. Can’t thank you enough
So very sorry, Shane. God bless you 🙏😢😢
Dude...i hope you are okay
My thoughts are with you brother
Every time I watch this video and I find your comment makes me wanna cry 😢
I'm going to play this song every day now.

Got to respect Winston. Straight edge lifestyle, no drugs, no alcohol. Just passion
Pure music, Pure soul
No joke. Winston is a fucking legend. Pure music
No wonder this songs so corny
And a voice that is insanely durable being able to continue performing uncleans like this.
Seriously?? No wonder his voice is epic
Jumping out of the plane after screaming into the camera. Some of the most metal shit I have ever seen.
Amen!
Would of been more metal if his shoot didnt open and he kept singing after he hit.. lol
whitewalker mike 😂😂😂

claro que si !
These guys really bring some much needed humanity to the genre, it doesn't always have to be "death blood and skulls" or "nobody understands me because I'm in highschool" there's a grey area where parkway sits that's just simply great music.
Andrew Parker ...but they aren't in highschool.
streetz86 neither is ronnie radke but that hasn't stopped him from building a career of pretending to be. Them being in highschool wasn't the point...Wasn't even supposed to be implied, really.
+Andrew Parker I've been saying this since the mid 2000's
+michael williams edgy
+momo bet your damn ass momo!
My 2 year old toddler sings along to this song. Best feeling in the world to be able to pass the gift of metal along to my kids.
Hell yeah \m/
Just saw them last night. Amazing show. Played old and new stuff
+Al Rogers I saw them last night and they had the crowd full of chaos
They are a great live band, can't wait to see them again. They can definitely work the crowd
Al Rogers agreed. I've been passing on my love of all things metal, especially Metallica to my 5 years old grandson. Soooooo friggin awesome to hear him sing Thunderstruck too though! Great to see it through a little one's eyes.
My step-dad passed away yesterday morning. Him and I used to spend time together listening to our favorite music, and this was a song he introduced me to a month or so ago that I fell in move with. thank you Australia for Parkway Drive. Absolutely amazing.
+Ibnul Anan and Make Them Suffer too
For years and years I've praised Australia for AC/DC . They are legends. I don't know a single person who doesn't love them.
thy art !
And the amity affliction
and sick puppy
The optimism is contagious.
I have brought this out in conversation with like minded friends
Parkway Drive is some of the best fucking workout music on earth.
yes
ya im gona listen to while snowmobiling this winter ,

Hahah currently at the gym listening to this (cardio unfortunately right now) while stomping on the treadmill
Some? It is the best lol.
This is my anthem. My motivation. The only song I need to get me on my feet and live life to its fullest. Thank you Parkway Drive!!!!!
Mine too
That guitar riff at the the start lures you in, and then the video and Winston's amazing screams trap you. The epic guitar solo at the end leaves you repeating the song again and again...

+Patrick Toutain You have my vote in "The Best Father Ever"
Lol that's awesome
+Clint Michardson OMG I Fucking love darkest hour. :) I feel bad for the drummer, but at least he's remaining positive
I'm 14 and I've grown up on heavy metel. I'm pretty sure you've won Father of the year
parenting at its finest!!!!! any kid that cranks parkway deserves a gold star!
The Rise part when they do the jump and hold each other is one of the best musical things Ive ever heard.
Agreed! And by the way, you like Parkway Drive AND Linkin Park?
I think I love you :D
Violet Raven hahahaha yea LP got me into Metal back then in 2012 it was so fucking awesome. Their music and chesters vocals blew me away.
I love this band ❤
"Hope for the hopeless, A light in the dark
We stand for the faithless and the broken" ❤️❤️ love this so much, such an amazing band I've discovered ☺️
Thats my Bubbas. My mates down under
Same. This band / song is amazing.
@@kalitaylor4799 yrpri
Sounds like 80's rock&roll with screams but still awesome, we love them!
This song is no where near as heavy as I was expecting but it has a really great uplifting vibe to it which is a good counter to how gloomy Atlas was in places.
***** Winston stated this will be the lightest song in their album
Snag on the Barbie Source??? Would make me feel a lot better...

Snag on the Barbie FUCK YES!!!!!! I KNEW THEY WOULD RELEASE THEIR WEAKEST SONG FIRST!!!!!! :D
When life is has got you you sideways, bands like this make you want to explode and face whatever it is that's getting you.
RISE!
Hats off to you fellas
How long till next episode you boys?
THE BIG LEZ SHOW OFFICIAL Fuck yes LEz
Idylls best Aussie band straight up
Lez mate, let this song be the inspiration in crushing the choomahs mate
THE BIG LEZ SHOW OFFICIAL Parkway should be honored you're commenting on their video Sassy.
Can we all take a minute to appreciate how well shot and directed this video is?!
And I'm actually really starting to enjoy the song, sure it's different but it's uplifting and fun. Nothing wrong with that!
I am with you there mate.
Jake Bolt The director has done a bunch of awesome videos. He directed Asking Alexandria's Through sin and self destruction short film and the death of me video. Chill guy.
Jake Bolt the video is pretty fucking on point
Jake Bolt
AIR BLOWERS? IN AN AIRFIELD? COM THE FUCK ON!! WAKE UP
Jake Bolt I love the heavy stuff, but this song is really good and uplifting :) And the video is great! Very well done.
I suffer from Asperger's syndrome ( high functioning autism) and this bands music fuels the fire I need to keep going and never give up.
Can't say I care for the singer but everything else about this song is unreal.

Troy Baker I have faith in PWD. This album will be just as badass as the rest of their work.
unitedgray I agree. I have high hopes for this album.
Troy Baker All these factors don't change that this song itself is a bit crappy
Troy Baker except ABR died (in my opinion) after Constellations. It doesn't really matter if it sounds on par with Rescue and Restore lol
ToastyVirus Crappy for what reason?
Hollidux So what makes you think that ABR died after Constellation?
This song sends such a great message for people to get out and live they're life to fullest regardless of what the world throws at them to keep fighting instead of laying down to die you have to spring back up higher and 1000x more powerful just to show haters or problems that you can crush them down faster than they can break you
Yes it does going through a really rough break up. And this song says all the right things
Yep been threw a rough breack up my self 😕 hope for the hopeless 🤟
Word!
This is why I love being a metalhead because we have such a strong and big community and come together when need be.rock on metalheads 🤘🤘🤘
I love the intensity they put in the singing for this video! Look at them actually rocking out!
Can we just take 4:25 minutes and appreciate this completely awesome music video? 💥🤘
Absolutely. Fucking.

Let's fuckin go, brothu
Always pumps my son up before his footbal games By far the best song in the entire album
I love how much Ben is rocking out on drums.
Cam Dean hell yeah! and originally he was only elected as a drummer because nobody else could. how cool lol
Haha that's awesome, Ben is a great drummer. :)
These guys are just studs that’s all there is to it. Man they know how to live
I keep coming back to this song when I feel like giving up. It keeps me going
Yeah it's very inspirational/motivational for sure
What's wrong? Well obviously there is a lot wrong with the world but is something troubling you specifically?
Right there with you. The 2% is a tough crew to be in.
@@OheyBro I would assume, like me, a veteran having a tough time dealing with life
Shane so sorry for your loss, yesterday I rocked out in memory of your boy, my thoughts and prayers go to you and your family 🙏🙏❤❤
I am convinced this song gives me super human strength while working out.

Tom Hines Those are some rookie numbers. You gotta boost those numbers up
Several times a day!!
As a Old Metal head , Ex Airborne Infantrymen, I very much appreciate The Hel of these guys .
Day by day you know the choice you have to make 💯 gets me every time
Ire was such a masterpiece, the guitar riffs give me huge Trivium vibes and I can’t get enough
OMFG!! 2:11 EPIC!
Awesome song and new style Parkway ^^
My daughter introduced me to these guys. Went and saw them at a little spot called the limelight in Peoria Illinois. I'm hooked. Ire is in my cd player as we speak
I REMEMBER THIS SONG FROM SO LONG AGO
I don't always listen to Parkway Drive but, when I do my neighbors do too!

Hipstergram Thankyou! You said it perfactly! We will always have their great heavier stuff like 'Carion' nomatter what happens!!
+Damien Dayton I just dont understand..
+Damien Dayton Cause Wild Eyes is a wayyy better song than this.
***** Exactly. The majority of the people talking shit are the ones that "listened to PWD before it was cool"
***** Not at all :)

Just discovered these guys recently. Needed this. I was already certifiably traumatized by 2009, and I've been in another crisis since 2013. This song makes me remember all the...bravado I used to have. I used to think I could just _will_ my way through the hard times.

i fuck with the 80s vibe on this one, and i doubt that this is what the whole album will sound like. they've been experimenting with "uplifting" songs sparingly, like Dream Run, and they've said in interviews that the new album still maintains their core sound. also, they've been a band for over 10 years now, they aren't going to write shit like Gimme A D or Smoke Em If You Got Em anymore lol they've toned down on their angst since they are in their 30s.

These guys really have the time of their life doing their videos, sky diving, surfing. Just enjoying themselves. Much love from Belgium!

Every time you think this track has peaked, it kicks you straight in the nuts again. 🤟🤟
Some bands change. Some end up going to the right way and Some go the wrong way. Parkway is going to the right way and people need to accept that. I still love them! screw the haters

Scottie Tim ridings thank you brother. Miss u dearly
Heard this on Pandora, really thought it was Killswitch. I love metal with tons of positivity. We need more!!!!
Keep in mind guys, it took them 9 jumps to get the perfect footage. these guys are dedicated to what they do
Wait, holy shit.....i just realised they literally sky dove for real
I got a very 80's Five a Finger Death Punchish vibe. Pretty sweet song.
No, that would be hell in music form. And not the good kind of hell.
80s and five finger death punch can fuck their selves
Red1676 lol the 80s was the best time for music
For what hair metal? The genre that almost killed off metal. Trash was late 80s early 90s. The 80s is stupid as shit. Only good shit to come out of the 80s was hardcore punk.
Red1676 Rust in Peace did come out in the 80's.
I love how positive the message is over the growling vocals.
Such a sick video! Fits the song perfectly and beautifully shot/edited. Hats off to the team!
i'm in for this to be a national anthem of australia
+Mladen Rusov Yes. Just yes.
+Mladen Rusov Signed in to upvote this. I'd move to Australia. lol
me too
+Mladen Rusov I'd do everything to get an Australian citizenship if they made this their national anthem
+Mladen Rusov Thousands of adults gathering to scream the national anthem , kids going to school to learn to scream so they could take part in the national anthem
Life would be complete
I'd just need to Australian then
Thank you Parkway drive for being a bad ass fucking band, I've found myself out of depression in the last couple weeks and now goal focused
See you on PH!
I absolutely love metal with a positive message. I find it so unique and never fails to make me smile and feel great no matter what so thanks for this guys and keep rocking on and being fucking amazing 👊
New album is sick !! Big up to Parkway Drive. Carry on pushing the boundaries!
Wow I remember listening to this when I was struggling with fentynal addiction, I was so far gone, that was over 6 years ago, been clean 5 years now, it's wild how time flies, so many friends dead, so many friends lost to these drugs, god had other plans for me though, I chose life ♥️
Where are you at now Matt? Hopefully happy and healthy! God bless!
Give it all you got.
It's been years since I lost the closest person to me. You never really get over it. This song reminds me that life is unpredictable, sometimes painful, but you need to be strong no matter what
