Lyrics
A system of complete control. The pressure builds
It wraps its hands around your throat. A constant battle
A silent war of mind and soul
Get up, get up. One life, one shot, give it all you got
Get up, get up
Keep the flame alive
Hope for the hopeless. A light in the darkness
Hope for the hopeless. A light in, a light in the dark
The chains set to break your soul. Day by day
You know the choice you have to make
Freeze up and fade
Or be the flame that lights the way
Get up, get up. One life, one shot, give it all you got
Get up, get up
Keep the flame alive
Hope for the hopeless. A light in the darkness
Hope for the hopeless. You’ve got one life, one shot
Give it all you got
Ill’s got a vice grip, like ice running down your spine
This world, it’s got you in its sights
Rise, rise. It’s all or nothing
Rise, rise. It’s do or die. Rise
Get up, get up. One life, one shot, give it all you got
Get up, get up
Keep the flame alive
Hope for the hopeless, A light in the darkness
Hope for the hopeless, A light in the dark
We stand for the faithless and the broken
Hope for the hopeless. A light in, a light in the dark
This song was played at my 8 year old sons funeral. He saw you in Melbourne in November 2018. It was as that last gig he went to. Can’t thank you enough
So very sorry, Shane. God bless you 🙏😢😢
Dude...i hope you are okay
My thoughts are with you brother
Every time I watch this video and I find your comment makes me wanna cry 😢
I'm going to play this song every day now.
Parkway Drive. My favorite 80s Hair Metal band.
I giggled to this comment hahaha
Steel panther brought me hear
***** Great idea! This song is fucking nice.
Juliiiiiiiiiiiiiiian That comment made me laugh so hard man hahaha
Better them solos hair bands had the best guitars all time
Got to respect Winston. Straight edge lifestyle, no drugs, no alcohol. Just passion
Pure music, Pure soul
No joke. Winston is a fucking legend. Pure music
No wonder this songs so corny
And a voice that is insanely durable being able to continue performing uncleans like this.
Seriously?? No wonder his voice is epic
The optimism is contagious.
I have brought this out in conversation with like minded friends
my 3 year old son loves this song and that there is a plane in it. I normally put on baby lullabies to put him to sleep but tonight wasn't having it and he made me put this on 6 times until he fell asleep to it. Every time is was over "airplane song again!". I think I may be parenting properly?
+Patrick Toutain You have my vote in "The Best Father Ever"
Lol that's awesome
+Clint Michardson OMG I Fucking love darkest hour. :) I feel bad for the drummer, but at least he's remaining positive
I'm 14 and I've grown up on heavy metel. I'm pretty sure you've won Father of the year
parenting at its finest!!!!! any kid that cranks parkway deserves a gold star!
Jumping out of the plane after screaming into the camera. Some of the most metal shit I have ever seen.
Amen!
Would of been more metal if his shoot didnt open and he kept singing after he hit.. lol
whitewalker mike 😂😂😂
2:10
claro que si !
My neighbor who introduced me to Parkway Drive about a week ago his daughter is 4 and she screams and growls out there songs✌✌✌
Tell your neighbor he's parenting right 🤘
Love it. My kids, 3 and 6, so the same. Keep up the good work!
Film it and make it go viral
That’s really actually wholesome
Good parent
And people say metal is always negative and depressing.
Yeah...That's one of the biggest lies that has ever been told.
Those people are negative and depressing
Want to hear more? I went to a show last year and was at the front with many other fellow metalheads. There was a lady who had a small boy with her, obviously her son and asked if he could be at the very front to see the band. We were more than happy to do that. She asked myself and another dude next to me to help shield him in case of moshes and crowd surfing and we did. But nobody crowd surfed or moshed during the show, it turned out they all knew there was a kid there and didn't want to risk hurting him. I do recall a couple of girls behind me telling the guys around them not to mosh because of the boy. His mother thanked us for looking after him. We are not even remotely the monsters or troublemakers that some ignorant fools like to make us out to be.
Fuck them then! I rather listen to and actual guitar than freaking rap with no fucking instrument
Dude metal is life keeps me motivated And HAPPY
Yes, Parkway! Yes!
Cole Rolland Any PWD covers coming up in celebration? :D
Cole Rolland vice grip cover next then. Dooo itttt!
Ohhh shit you listen to parkway drive ??? Why dont u do covers or anything related to pwd
i'm in for this to be a national anthem of australia
+Mladen Rusov Yes. Just yes.
+Mladen Rusov Signed in to upvote this. I'd move to Australia. lol
me too
+Mladen Rusov I'd do everything to get an Australian citizenship if they made this their national anthem
+Mladen Rusov Thousands of adults gathering to scream the national anthem , kids going to school to learn to scream so they could take part in the national anthem
Life would be complete
I'd just need to Australian then
Who's still jamming to this song in 2020!
I'm jumping off from an airplane tomorrow. Gonna be screaming this all the way down 🤘🏽
Everyday at work!
I'm always listening to parkway drive
Just discovered.. 2029 I will recycle this comment🤔
Fuck yeah!
This is my anthem. My motivation. The only song I need to get me on my feet and live life to its fullest. Thank you Parkway Drive!!!!!
Mine too
thank you Australia for Parkway Drive. Absolutely amazing.
+Ibnul Anan and Make Them Suffer too
For years and years I've praised Australia for AC/DC . They are legends. I don't know a single person who doesn't love them.

And the amity affliction

Hats off to you fellas
How long till next episode you boys?
THE BIG LEZ SHOW OFFICIAL Fuck yes LEz
Idylls best Aussie band straight up
Lez mate, let this song be the inspiration in crushing the choomahs mate
THE BIG LEZ SHOW OFFICIAL Parkway should be honored you're commenting on their video Sassy.
I don't always listen to Parkway Drive but, when I do my neighbors do too!
The Rise part when they do the jump and hold each other is one of the best musical things Ive ever heard.
Agreed! And by the way, you like Parkway Drive AND Linkin Park?
I think I love you :D
Violet Raven hahahaha yea LP got me into Metal back then in 2012 it was so fucking awesome. Their music and chesters vocals blew me away.
This song is no where near as heavy as I was expecting but it has a really great uplifting vibe to it which is a good counter to how gloomy Atlas was in places.
***** Winston stated this will be the lightest song in their album
Snag on the Barbie Source??? Would make me feel a lot better...
jgbrewer22 atm i can only find this (line 6) www.abc.net.au/triplej/musicnews/s4251277.htm
jgbrewer22 and read this entertainmentgrumble.com/parkway-drive-vice-grip-track-review/
Snag on the Barbie FUCK YES!!!!!! I KNEW THEY WOULD RELEASE THEIR WEAKEST SONG FIRST!!!!!! :D
PARKWAY DRIVE TILL I DIE...
Also this song is gonna be sick live!
Hell yeah man
Ross Jordan This is the first thing I thought when I heard it. Fucking sick.
P.D.O.D
Parkway Drive Or Die
Ross Jordan Til I die...
this song helps me right now. in a dark place in life currently.
addiction, depression, schizophrenia. i am one of those faithless and hopeless they sing about.
this song helps me get strength to keep walking my way.
Stay strong! I know what addiction means. You can do it! It just takes time.
You are not alone my friend
Yap,Same here
Don’t worry you are exactly what we stand for “the faithless and broken”
You are the light in the deal brother.
Pave the path for all to be guided into a community of acceptance for all.
I keep coming back to this song when I feel like giving up. It keeps me going
Yeah it's very inspirational/motivational for sure
What's wrong? Well obviously there is a lot wrong with the world but is something troubling you specifically?
Right there with you. The 2% is a tough crew to be in.
@@OheyBro I would assume, like me, a veteran having a tough time dealing with life
Parkway Drive is some of the best fucking workout music on earth.
yes
ya im gona listen to while snowmobiling this winter ,
Best song to lift to is idols and anchors
Hahah currently at the gym listening to this (cardio unfortunately right now) while stomping on the treadmill
Some? It is the best lol.
These guys really bring some much needed humanity to the genre, it doesn't always have to be "death blood and skulls" or "nobody understands me because I'm in highschool" there's a grey area where parkway sits that's just simply great music.
Andrew Parker ...but they aren't in highschool.
streetz86 neither is ronnie radke but that hasn't stopped him from building a career of pretending to be. Them being in highschool wasn't the point...Wasn't even supposed to be implied, really.
+Andrew Parker I've been saying this since the mid 2000's
+michael williams edgy
+momo bet your damn ass momo!
Come on people! Who's listening is 2021, "keep the flame alive!🔥 "
rock in roll
2024 and still rolling!!!
As a Old Metal head , Ex Airborne Infantrymen, I very much appreciate The Hel of these guys .
loving the new five finger death punch song!!!!!!!
Jajajajajjaja nice comment, dude :')
Bryce Doan ohh shit haha. shots fired
Bryce Doan So sad to see such a fucking disgrace of a comment under a PWD song, but it is even sadder that I have to agree. I kinda disliked the song when it leaked, and I still find it unworthy for a PWD song, but with the video its actually not that bad. The video itslef is 10/10 though!
Agyapenzt My thoughts exactly...the video is fantastic as always ...shame it has a sound
Bryce Doan more All That Remains. Was expecting Winston to come out with some "WHAT IF I WAS NOTHINNGGGGG" lyrics at any moment
It doesn’t sounds like other PWD stuff, but this song is fucking awesome! Honestly i liked so much, but i really hope the rest of IRE sounds more aggressive! Long live Parkway Drive! lmL
Carlos Salazar Agree not the most heavy stuff.. not too big fan of the anthem shouting.. but other than that pretty solid track.. Like his new style of extra added vocals. The video is fucking awesome though! Looking forward to hearing the rest :D
Ramul I dig this track sort of being completely different to anything they've ever done. I mean change isn't always bad, and they've done it perfectly. But I agree, some heavier stuff would be nice on this new album. So stoked for the Aussie tour too! \m/
Ramul i love how they perform all of their own stunts. they f**king rock!
Hipstergram Thankyou! You said it perfactly! We will always have their great heavier stuff like 'Carion' nomatter what happens!! \m/
Carlos Salazar From what I've read about the new album, this track is set to be the lightest one on the record. I don't want to speak too soon, but I will anyway: Get ready for some bone-crushing brutalness guys!
This is why I love being a metalhead because we have such a strong and big community and come together when need be.rock on metalheads 🤘🤘🤘
2:42 when you're visiting your Asian friend and ask what's for dinner
😂😂😂
this is cracking me up😂😂😂
LMFAO made my day brother
R I C E 💂🏿♀️
LOL hahahahahahaha this made my day man
This sounds like it could be in a superhero movie
Guy Dude Absolutely correct man! This song should be the theme for the Batman vs Superman movie!
Power Rangers XD
Guy Dude yeah.... super fucking douchey
Guy Dude how this could ever be on a refused playlist....what the fuck
Guy Dude Yeah I definitely agree. It also sounds like the 'one metal song' a non-metalhead would listen to
Did any of you guys think about the fact that Vice Grip could just be for live shows, something to get the crowd excited? Or since the new album is called Ire, this is the first song and the album gets progressively darker and heavier. This song isn't perfect but I still like it. Just because its lighter and overall pretty different from their other stuff, doesn't mean they're selling out. Don't jump to conclusions. Also, I don't know why I've seen so many people are hating on ABR's new album on this video. Its fucking awesome, nearly as good as Rescue and Restore.
Troy Baker I have faith in PWD. This album will be just as badass as the rest of their work.
unitedgray I agree. I have high hopes for this album.
Troy Baker All these factors don't change that this song itself is a bit crappy
Troy Baker except ABR died (in my opinion) after Constellations. It doesn't really matter if it sounds on par with Rescue and Restore lol
ToastyVirus Crappy for what reason?
Hollidux So what makes you think that ABR died after Constellation?
I can't count the number of times I've heard people say that heavy metal music has nothing to offer.... there's nothing to it....it's just noise....nothing uplifting about it. This song, along with many others, is VERY uplifting. "One life...one shot....GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT!!!!!!"
Ire was such a masterpiece, the guitar riffs give me huge Trivium vibes and I can’t get enough
Let's just hope that the rest of the album is better..
JTR1Cinema Are you implying to song isn't good?
Samuel Shipman That's exactly what he is implying.
I agree. I didn't dislike this song but I definitely don't like it as much as any of their other stuff. Granted they don't make their music specifically for me but That's just my opinion.
JTR1Cinema Don't worry, I heard that this is their lightest song on the album.
Their best video for sure though
that's it, i'm going sky diving.
Schmidt Head Productions *"Keep The Flame Alive!!!!!!"*
Schmidt Head Productions I totally agree, I normally stand on the side of reason and sanity and not wanting to jump out of a perfectly good aircraft.
I wanna do it in the MDK style and fall head first from the sky.
so, how is it?
Ah yes, self Isolation, complete lockdown of the UK - This means binge listening to all the best bands the world has to offer.
Picked the wrong band mate.
Now here a dude I want to kick it with lol
My step-dad passed away yesterday morning. Him and I used to spend time together listening to our favorite music, and this was a song he introduced me to a month or so ago that I fell in move with. I'm here to pick out music for his viewing on Wednesday; I think he'd like to hear this song again one last time. I love you John, you were like the father I never had. ❤️
Really missing the days of Killing With A Smile right about now.
Exactly
PurpleIsALetter Then go listen to killing with a smile??? I do on a regular basis because like you I know its one of their best albums.
Gabriel Barbosa I'm just saying I wish this song was that good.
PurpleIsALetter You guys really need to stop complaining and just wait for the album to come out... IRE translates directly into "Anger" so there's no way this album won't be heavy.
PurpleIsALetter
I love the album as well, but why would I want an album that is just like it?
People complain all the time that so many bands sound the same. Parkway Drive has consistently changed it's sound while staying the same.
If all they did was release an album that sounded the same as the last, why would you even listen to them?
I'm crying tears of pure testosterone after watching this
Kyle Sekenski this has absolutely made me a happier man overall.
u mean... white... tears? lol
Basically testosterone juice is... you know... Are you jizzing from our eyes man?
basically.. compared to deathcore... this is... vagina.
Dave Dom if deathcore had lyrics you would have a point
I suffer from Asperger's syndrome ( high functioning autism) and this bands music fuels the fire I need to keep going and never give up.
I love songs like this, with a good positive message
This song sends such a great message for people to get out and live they're life to fullest regardless of what the world throws at them to keep fighting instead of laying down to die you have to spring back up higher and 1000x more powerful just to show haters or problems that you can crush them down faster than they can break you
Yes it does going through a really rough break up. And this song says all the right things
Yep been threw a rough breack up my self 😕 hope for the hopeless 🤟
Word!
Can we all take a minute to appreciate how well shot and directed this video is?!
And I'm actually really starting to enjoy the song, sure it's different but it's uplifting and fun. Nothing wrong with that!
I am with you there mate.
Jake Bolt The director has done a bunch of awesome videos. He directed Asking Alexandria's Through sin and self destruction short film and the death of me video. Chill guy.
Jake Bolt the video is pretty fucking on point
Jake Bolt
AIR BLOWERS? IN AN AIRFIELD? COM THE FUCK ON!! WAKE UP
Jake Bolt I love the heavy stuff, but this song is really good and uplifting :) And the video is great! Very well done.
I’ve programmed this song into my head so it plays every time I’m trying to get through anything difficult. Works well
Is it possible to learn this power?
Wow I remember listening to this when I was struggling with fentynal addiction, I was so far gone, that was over 6 years ago, been clean 5 years now, it's wild how time flies, so many friends dead, so many friends lost to these drugs, god had other plans for me though, I chose life ♥️
Trying out my new headset. I think I picked the right song.
Sony something. I don't remember the name now but it was around 6,000¥.
Bose QC here - man love the guitars...
lol i did exactly the same thing!!!
you bought a $1000 headset and cant remember the name? get fucked ling ling.
6000 yen is $56
My 2 year old toddler sings along to this song. Best feeling in the world to be able to pass the gift of metal along to my kids.
Hell yeah \m/
Just saw them last night. Amazing show. Played old and new stuff
+Al Rogers I saw them last night and they had the crowd full of chaos
They are a great live band, can't wait to see them again. They can definitely work the crowd
Al Rogers agreed. I've been passing on my love of all things metal, especially Metallica to my 5 years old grandson. Soooooo friggin awesome to hear him sing Thunderstruck too though! Great to see it through a little one's eyes.
These guys are just studs that’s all there is to it. Man they know how to live
2024 n still jamming this 🙏🙏🙏
YOOOO!!!!
Parkway forever.
HELLOWWW
***** And ever.
#ParkwayDriveForever
oppark no
this song is the song that got me into parkway drive
Same.
Bit late.. They have plenty earlier albums that are just as good
Romance is Dead for me.
Alyssa Blackheart same here.
Mine too
Every time you think this track has peaked, it kicks you straight in the nuts again. 🤟🤟
Your music really hits hard. Helps me bodybuild and get though my past of being abused and bullied all my life. Thank you so much
This is one of those songs I enjoy playing unreasonably loud in my car with the windows down. (:
Brianna O'Niell And only fucktards take notice of you then you wonder why 'guys are so mean' ..
Rust Muncher Fuck it!
Brianna O'Niell May I suggest playing an earlier album to save you the trouble.. Actually nah scratch that, if you like this then you deserve a fucktard in your life.
Timothy Barth That made my afternoon X) lmao
Two typical, unoriginal and senseless comments, its now really no wonder why you's like this song...
Keep in mind guys, it took them 9 jumps to get the perfect footage. these guys are dedicated to what they do
Wait, holy shit.....i just realised they literally sky dove for real
This is just the most bad ass music video of all time.
The video has that “ALL THAT REMAINS” touch.
HERE I AM, ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE
+David Johnson wrong video bro
haha. seriously. and then another song on the album is like no one like you. I think it's the first song. can't remember.
CAN I PLAY WITH MADNESS!?
I hear it too. Is it the beat? I like that an uplifting pwd song exists
The most normal looking metal band I've ever listened to.
Pretty much all bands look like normal guys these days, you can't tell the genre of the band by their looks anymore xD
Look up for the episode from Bus Invaders feat. Eluveitie, I'm still not sure if they're actually my Hippie neighbors.
Lindsey Chastain ... Australian metalcore bands don't worry about looking "the scene".
not true whatsoever
How was the fall on the AF Great Wall?
I can't count the amount of times this song helped me through rough times. Appreciate you guys
My buddy is 4 days clean today blasting this for you Allen
Came back here to watch and listen for the 30th time.
Tom Hines Those are some rookie numbers. You gotta boost those numbers up
Several times a day!!
Sounds like 80's rock&roll with screams but still awesome, we love them!
Director: How much testosterone do you want in this music video?
Parkway Drive: GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT
Don't you mean adrenaline? With jumping outta plane and stuff...
@@djomla9999 both
I’ve loved this song my whole entire life
One of the best fucking songs I have ever heard! SO FUCKING INSPIRATIONAL!
ROCK THE FUCK ON!
Nathan Kelly HOPE, FOR THE HOPELESS!!
Nathan Kelly men is so inspirational it bring me back to life give me power! is awesome
crushed is better it is still by parkway drive but vice grip is still good
+Nathan Kelly I think it's like a victory song/anthem type of thing ...It's AWESOME !
Nathan Kelly Let me ask you howlong have you been listening to pwd?
This is a fucking epic video
if I were a good band of any sort, the fact that I could do a solo jump out of a plane for a music video would be huge motivation for me to want to keep coming up with fun/cool shit to do for videos since I CAN!
thank you for agreeing I am 10
Jack Gibson nobody agreed on anything with you kid
Watch the behind the scenes... They didn't cheat the system, they had to do over 9 jumps before they could jump solo etc...
8 years ago already???
2024 April 🔥
I love this band, this music helps me feel better when I'm anxious and don't feel good. I need to listen ALL of their songs ♥.What a good discovery at the end of year! Happy new year all metalheads and everyone \m/

If r
Absolutely. Fucking. Epic.
I just went through the most hellish year of my life, and through strength I didn't even know existed, I have begun building a life worth living again.
This song is a monument to those who lost hope. Never give up, you are stronger than you know. The light in the darkness!!! Fuck Yeah PWD, you fucking nailed it!
You get knocked down, you get the fuck back up and you fucking FIGHT!
Thank you for your comment, brother! Life is good now, but the road has been more difficult than anything I could have ever predicted. If there are any ways I can reach out and help others who are down in whatever way, then that is what I will do. It is through the kindness of strangers and the beauty of humanity that I am here today able to type these words. Yes, humans can be ugly and do terrible things to each other, but our capacity for good is just as limitless.
On topic, it seems like a rather sizable portion of Parkway Drives' music is geared towards Strength: not strength of arms, but the Strength of brotherhood (sister too!), Strength of character, strength of compassion, Strength to help others and do whats right!
"Twelve years I’ve fought for this
Twelve years, my heart still beats
For the ones who’ve stood beside me
Through the values that define me
No compromise, no surrender
These beliefs, they make me whole
Never the breaker, promise keeper
Remains the ethic instilled in me"
- Parkway Drive "Dedicated" -
Let's fuckin go, brothu
That guitar riff at the the start lures you in, and then the video and Winston's amazing screams trap you. The epic guitar solo at the end leaves you repeating the song again and again...
Such a sick video! Fits the song perfectly and beautifully shot/edited. Hats off to the team!
I absolutely love metal with a positive message. I find it so unique and never fails to make me smile and feel great no matter what so thanks for this guys and keep rocking on and being fucking amazing 👊
First they go surfing in "Karma", now sky diving.
Justin Lee Yes, and its awesome!
Justin Lee Next album there'll be a video of them caving. Next album after that will see them playing inside a volcano.
They're adventurous!!
Justin Lee они просто дикие по своей натуре :)
Артем колючий но зато настоящие и живые ;)
Hope the album is better than this
Juan Ricaurte Agree, but don't worry dude, in Atlas "Dream Run" was a song with this kind of style, but the rest of Atlas was fucking awesome. Sorry for my english, im mexican. Greetings lmL
Carlos Salazar I think Dream Run is heavier than this one. I like this new stuff too, even if it doesn't sound like regular PWD :3 Anyway they're probably not going to make 1000 times their first albums haha
***** Of curse Dream Run is heavier, it was an example. The time will tell, hope the rest of IRE sounds more aggresive! Greetings pal.
Saw them live - unbelievable performance. Salute boys
Thank you Parkway drive for being a bad ass fucking band, I've found myself out of depression in the last couple weeks and now goal focused
"Hope for the hopeless, A light in the dark
We stand for the faithless and the broken" ❤️❤️ love this so much, such an amazing band I've discovered ☺️
Thats my Bubbas. My mates down under
Same. This band / song is amazing.

I love how much Ben is rocking out on drums.
Cam Dean hell yeah! and originally he was only elected as a drummer because nobody else could. how cool lol
Haha that's awesome, Ben is a great drummer. :)
How cool is this film clip? Boys just having an absolute ball 🤘
My daughter introduced me to these guys. Went and saw them at a little spot called the limelight in Peoria Illinois. I'm hooked. Ire is in my cd player as we speak
I am convinced this song gives me super human strength while working out.
i fuck with the 80s vibe on this one, and i doubt that this is what the whole album will sound like. they've been experimenting with "uplifting" songs sparingly, like Dream Run, and they've said in interviews that the new album still maintains their core sound. also, they've been a band for over 10 years now, they aren't going to write shit like Gimme A D or Smoke Em If You Got Em anymore lol they've toned down on their angst since they are in their 30s.
still...i miss the harmonized tapping riffs
$SOUNDS$ hey I love Atlas as muich as the next parkway fan, but if they made a new song like Smoke Em...thats fuckin alright with me.
MURD3R3D i feel you man, i still fuckin love the old songs, but i think PWD always switch it up a tiny bit with each album, which is why they are so awesome (in my opinion) haha. i'm just really excited to hear the full thing!
$SOUNDS$ Actually Winston and Jeff are the only ones in their 30s. Theyre both 32. Luke, Pie, and Ben are all still in their 20s haha.
jkteddy77 BMTH has always sucked :)
$SOUNDS$ Dream Run is by no means, an uplifting song...especially comparing it to this song
It's been my ringtone for 5 years, and will stay
The drive to get you out of bed in the morning to be who you are parkway drive. The best
Look at all the hardcore kids getting pissy because there was actually a bit of melody to the new song rather than fast riffs and breakdowns throughout the whole thing. This sounds like it'll be fucking massive live and I love it. That and 1st person skydiving in 4K, holy shit.
Couldn't have said it better
***** I think you took it the wrong way, reread man!
***** I'm not, I'm saying it comes across like that's all anyone wanted to fucking hear with the amount of hate this song's getting. I've already seen several people refer to them as a pop band because of this song tonight. It's fucking retarded.
AndyGoodstuff I don't dislike this song, but I do hope the whole album isn't like this. That being said.. A lot of PW's songs had a lot of melodies lol. And I agree it probably will be fun live with some of the catch vocal parts.
AndyGoodstuff I can't wait to hear this live too. I bet they might replace their rage against the machine cover thats in their line-up with the this one!
I don't understand the hate for this song. It's awesome!
Agreed :)
Scott Bainbridge If you've been a fan since Killing With A Smile, you wouldn't know this was the same band. I like progress, but this is going in a whole different direction. If I wanted a different direction, I'd listen to a different band.
EvilSSP
They did say this was the softest song on the album so it (the rest of the album) probably won't be drastically different
Scott Bainbridge what about dont close your eyes?
Danijel Stefanek
What???
Gotta say, I was blessed enough to be at the filming of this, and got to meet the whole PD crew. Winston is one of the coolest dudes I’ve met. Love you guys. Keep up the good stuff :)

Parkway Drive - "Vice Grip"
Good \m/orning! Enjoy this beautiful day!
Excellenttt...Have a nice \m/ day Craigh Band !! :)
Yeah 7 years later this song is still on repeat on god
Sounds generic but the growls are ok...their latest song is not bad
People ask me all the time how I listen to bands like this and ask how can I understand the lyrics. I often wonder how people don’t listen to this. How do you not understand the lyrics? I sometimes wonder if people that have experienced pain, trauma, anxiety/depression are the only ones that can feel this kind of music.
Imo metal does have lyrics that can be hard to understand but at the same time only lyrically due to vocals but you can feel what they are saying and by extension discern what they are trying to say. Example: Heaven Shall Burn’s Combat which is about kids being drafted into the military and their lives being ruined and their childhoods becoming just a facade and maybe not even real to them given their often lack of a perceived cruelty in the world. It’s a shock to their minds but the song itself is hard to understand lyrically given the vocals in fact I had to look up the lyrics but the vocals at the same time push to hammer their raw message forward to the point that yes lyrics help to understand it but the vocals do more than enough to sell the true meaning of the song not to mention the video. That’s why I love metal so much. The vocals, the instruments and everything else give way to a true masterpiece in almost every metal song in existence.
This just screams "I'm 14 and this is deep" energy. 😬
I love the Post hardcore, thrash metal modern hardcore, metal core, power ballad metal post modern modern hardcore grunge punk style now.

I got a very 80's Five a Finger Death Punchish vibe. Pretty sweet song.
No, that would be hell in music form. And not the good kind of hell.
80s and five finger death punch can fuck their selves
Red1676 lol the 80s was the best time for music
For what hair metal? The genre that almost killed off metal. Trash was late 80s early 90s. The 80s is stupid as shit. Only good shit to come out of the 80s was hardcore punk.
Red1676 Rust in Peace did come out in the 80's.
The amount of energy and will power this song gives me is not to be understated.
