    You're doing something nobody else is doing and it deserves applause. These are exactly the kind of reviews that these types of watches need, and it sort of keeps Rolex "honest" about the capabilities of their watches. I am not surprised by their performance and in a way, it justifies their standing in the watch world. To top it off, your photography is fantastic. Keep up the great work!

      Thank for that Dale, very much appreciated. I never trusted "what it says on the box" doesn't matter if it camera gear, truck, hiking, camping gear or watches. I want to know their limits and what kind of trust I can put into it. Cheers

    I’ve also had an Explorer 40 for a few months - I’ve worn it across a variety of conditions from freezing cold in Alaska, high humidity/heat in Africa & the Middle East, and underwater in the Pacific Ocean. If I’m traveling I’ll even wear it while jogging or light calisthenics just so I don’t leave it somewhere. Through all of that it has remained incredibly accurate. If I’m in one location it typically only loses a second or two over several weeks despite the abuse. The daily +/- is hardly noticeable!
    Looking forward to continuing to put some miles on this fantastic watch. Every scratch tells a story!

    Perfect model for me. I need to be able to read it. Simplicity. I have been wearing $30 Amazon Casio’s which while inexpensive, do not last. Throw away. I’m looking forward to a Rolex Explorer 40. I can hand it to my daughters when I’m gone and it will be of value.

    This is the best review that I've seen on the Rolex Explorer I to date! I enjoyed your video so much that I subscribed to your channel. I've owned the 39mm 214270 for several years now - it's accompanied me to the UK, Portugal, Belize, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Colombia, I couldn't ask for a better travel watch and everyday driver, I like that it flies under the radar as well, as Rolex is meant for me, not for everyone else. Thank you so much for your excellent review, sending you positive vibes and many more wonderful adventures from out here on the East Coast, in Charleston South Carolina, cheers!

    Cool review I own the same 3 watches and love the Explorer 40, as you say it wears so much smaller than those other two. I really appreciate the smaller size and comfort (I think it’s like the modern day equivalent of the original 36mm version because it is small by todays standards), it’s become my daily go to I find it hard to take off. I also love the beauty and simplicity.

    Great video man! You're really getting comfortable with the format and that was a really great combo of narrative; walk n'talk; 1st person/3rd person/static footage. Well done! And what an amazing place - dude, jealous! The Explorer was looking sweet. I've had no problem running my 124270, 36mm doing eg forestry (chainsaw/axe/sledge); log splitting; free diving in the 10-30m range; running; road cycling and motorcycling, plus various farm/outdoor chores. -10c to 40c. No worries, same as my current and past Subs. But you hit on what I like most about the Explorer: simplicity. Simple is always better! There's little to go wrong - to jam, to catch and it just slides under the cold weather gear or motorcycle kit. And finally, loved the bonus footage: Great shot - that makes it all worthwhile, eh!

    Great video and stunning watch with amazing history. Feel like it pairs perfectly with your lifestyle and job. I have one question though if the exp II was your only watch and purely from a design perspective would you go black or white dial?

    • @cheynewalls
      @cheynewalls  16 днів тому +1

      Thank you. Very tough question, I got the Polar dial version of the Rolex Explorer II because it is so legible in all conditions. However from design perspective the Polar dial is better in function (for me anyway) , but the black dial is far more versatile and classical. In my opinion, I think the black dial is better looking in a design perspective, and the Polar is more a functional timepiece. Cheers

      Wow, crazy good eyes. I try to have it so the Rolex crown on the bracelet faces straight down so that takes the first hit at the bottom of the clasp.
