You're right. Haircut ideas and tutorials always show long hair. Styling the back of a head full of short hair is completely different.

Ok I'm obviously 2 years late to the video here, but I don't care: THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have been searching on youtube for help with my hair and I couldn't find anyone with my same hair curl type until YOU, and on top of that you have almost the same hair length as me. I could not for the life of me figure out how to use a denman brush with my hair length but the way you explained it made everything so clear, thank you thank you thank you!
My hair is the same length and curl pattern is almost exactly the same! I just really struggle getting definition at the back. The front looks so cute and the back is just a hot mess! Hope I get as good results with the denman as you did!

Thanks so much for the video .. i now have shorter curly hair and its nice to see a change somebody doing a video for us without long curls. i tried this for the first time and can't belive how great my curls turnt out as were always told not to brush curls esp on wet hair ! thanks soooooo much
This made my day! Im so glad this worked for you. Regarding the brushing of wet hair; As long as your hair is tangle free then there is no chance of damaging your hair. If you find you have tangles when you come out of the shower you can always detangle your hair in the shower after applying conditioner!
Geez, you make it look so easy! I have much shorter hair than you (typical men hair length), and using the Denman has been extremely difficult since I bought it a few weeks ago, although it has definitely helped with the front curls.
You and your curls are absolutely gorgeous, by the way!
This is such a goal for my head. My hair is a little longer w a bob cut but i also have short layers growing out from the wolf cut prior to understanding my hair was trying to tell me it wasn't unruly it was curly.
I'm also struggling with using the brush and going with my curl patterns i seem fantastic at assuming my curl is going towards or away from my face and being wrong. Also the technique of diffusing my short layers just hasn't clicked yet w my brain, or my hair. Totally agree her hair is absolutely gorgeous! Best of luck we can figure this out too.
@@ItsLaurenE I have gotten a little better at using the brush since I made that comment and my hair has grown a bit longer as well, and although I’m still not as good as her at using it, it’s so much better now. I’m sure you’ll figure it out soon too with practice, so good luck indeed!

Gosh thank God I found your channel while searching for curly hair with fringe because I decided to cut my long straight waist length hair to shoulder length and get a full fringe. That's when I knew that I have a wavy or curly hair and it stressed me out because when I left the parlor they blower my whole hair so my hair is still straight even my fringe and when I got home took a shower wet my hair I noticed that my hair became kinda wavy and so my fringe. The next day it became curly and wavy but I didn't put any hair care for curly since I didn't know gosh. Now I know how will I style my short hair with fringe thanks to this!!

Oh that is so good to hear! there is nothing like that panic after you cut your hair and realize its very different then you thought it would be 🤭I have had my fringe now for 4ish months and I couldn't be happier with it! It's cool how your hair just kinda changed, I guess cutting the length just made it a lot lighter!

Only my curl pattern is a little looser than yours and I don’t have a denman brush 😅
You can still make your hair look amazing without the denman brush! here is a link to a video where i don't use it to style my hair. ( I just use it to brush out my hair but you can use any brush)

Hey! Yes in my opinion the gel is an essential step. It helps your hair to dry frizz free and also prolongs your curls.

I usually wear my hair curly so I don't have a video where my hair is straighter... but basically I just asked for a layered shoulder length cut with bangs and fringe!

Any tips to keep the hair from falling off the brush? Mine just slips out.
Honesty just trial and error. Try taking slightly larger sections and make sure you put the hair all the way to the base of the bristles of the brush!

My hair is down my ass, if I do this my hair gets tugged so badly and no curls :/ cause I brushed it a lot with the gel on barely any definition this makes me wanna try it again but I feel like I’ll fail. On my daughter it looks great!
Yeah this technique is definitely harder on long hair... it might be easier to get someone else to do it for you haha
