love your channel. Real help for a newbie beginner. I have an auction late in Aug for a tropical fish club. EXCITED!! Oh Yeah, I am 80 yrs old and learning a new skill.
I began attending local fire dept auctions as of 2019 during their yard parties. I was so thrilled to watch the auctioneer chant. I have gone to about 15 auctions and enjoyed every minute. As a buyer, I end up making back great profit. It is amazing what deals you can grab. My wife thinks I’m crazy now that I am watching your channel and learning how to chant. It also helps purchasing items at a lower price knowing how to slow the pace. Definitely an art to the chant and making the most profit for the sellers.
I am a self taught “auctioneer”, I do all charitable auctions for children and family charities. I’ve been part of raising over 9 million in proceeds and found this info great. Thank You
Congratulations, you have identified a big gap on UA-cam. All the auctioneer stuff on YT is old, poorly done, and very amateurish. This video series is filling a void. In the very, very crowded world of social media, there aren't many of these voids left. Most people watching auctioneer "how to" vids, I suspect, are people like me, that want to do it for fun as a party gag, but will never go on to be a paid auctioneer. With that said, there is a segment of your audience that is interested in working as an auctioneer, and will benefit from this series, using it as a stepping stone. Either way, those two viewers, the just want to learn how to do it folks, and the I want to do it and get paid for it people, make up virtually the ENTIRE audience of auctioneer videos. Good job in recognizing this. This is your moment to become the face of online auctioneering instruction, if that is your goal. I wish you luck. It's not often people get an opportunity like this.
Wow Tim, its like you were reading my mind, from a few months ago before I started the Channel. I feel like you must study social media and niches because you definitely look at YT from a influencer view point. I did notice the lack of auctioneering content on YT and I was inspired to give back to auctioneers after revisiting the auction school I attend many years ago. When I started the channel it was never my plan to become the face of online auctioneering, it was more so seeing the lack of content and using this channel as a creative outlet to make short films (which I truly enjoy). I wouldn't be were I'm at in my auction career if it wasn't for the help of good people willing to lend a helping hand, so that is my goal with this channel is to give back. I don't wish to be the face of auctioneering, the industry is much bigger than any one person. I want my channel to be a Syndicate, a place for auctioneers to brainstorm, learn and work together. Im trying to figure out how to collaborate with other auctioneers in the industry and be able to give their knowledge and experience back to the Auction Syndicate community. Thanks for your very deep and well thought out comment Tim. If you have any other input or brainstorm ideas, I would love to talk about them. Thanks again brother!! Cheers, Blake
I absolutely love watching you. I had my first auction at a charity golf tournament and was able to raise over $10,000. Im not sure how good I was but I learned from watching your channel.
I really enjoy your instruction I'm paralyzed from the shoulders down and my diaphragm is compromised so the airflow is as well. It is making my diaphragm stronger but I still have trouble with some of the words and the speed. I spend most of my time in bed and this is very enjoyable thanks for sharing. Scott
Scott !!! Welcome to the Syndicate brother. Practicing auctioneering will definitely help to build diaphragm muscles. Sometimes after you practice it feels like you’ve just done 100 crunches. Keep practicing and the speed will definitely come though the repetition. What filler words have been your favorite/ work with your chant? I’m so glad you are enjoying the vids.... more to come in 2020.
Love your channel. This video is great--it would be awesome if you could expand on this topic even further... Doing auctions on a more amateur level, I find bidders are pretty slow, so I need to hold numbers for longer, but want to keep energy and rhythm high for excitement. Any additional filler word tips to build up a fast chant while holding a number? For example, I can get "bid it at/bid em on", "anybody wanna give" "dollar now", etc. pretty fast, but they sound more like "short bursts", especially when repeating the same number over and over. Would love some additional tips/fillers for building longer chants and how to hold the rhythm for a specific number.
So much info in this video. I'm thinking this one is my favorite of your series. What filler words do like to use that are also easy to roll your tongue off of? I'm getting ready for Auction School in July, at Troy University program in Dothan, Al. Thanks again for this incredible series.
Thanks for the kind words Randall!! And I’m glad to hear you are signed up for auction school. I use a lot of different fill in my chant “Would you give here x2” rolls with my chant after a lot of practice and “dollar do you wanna give” are probably my favorite in my chant currently but your chant is always changing and you’ll add things you like and drop things that don’t work anymore. Stay tuned for more mock auction freestyle sessions! And welcome to the Syndicate!!!!
P.S. I love your football commentary man!!!! You have a level of enthusiasm and voice control that I want to achieve in my auction chant!! Kudos. I want you to be my Color reader while I’m up on the block!!!
@@AuctionSyndicate Thank you brother. I really appreciate you bringing this education to us all, and it's really helping me. This past year was my first year trying high school football and basketball commentary. This Wed will make 1 month I've been working on my auction chant, around my full time job(50+hrs week). I've been recording My progress. My chant at 3 weeks sounds pretty terrible but steadily improving. Lol. I'm hoping to have a decent chant down by July so I can focus on improving my chant and learning all the rest of business in that short time at auction school.
There are definitely many different ways to hold on a number, and this is just one very basic example. Im hoping that with future videos, you will be able to learn different techniques to and to your chant (like salesmanship , utilizing a pause, ping ponging between 2 numbers). Keep practicing and i will keep posting and trying to explain different techniques via video.
If there a chance to get an answer on this i woild appreciate it. Total beginner here. Just did my 3rd annual fundraiser emcee live auction event. No training. Winged it well, however, one example i want advice on: dinner with our Pastor for guests, valued at Priceless. Started at $300. It stalled at $450. We went in approx $25 increments. I broke the chant and started using same type voice/cadence but started saying that the last year we got $1,000+, the other VIP dinner just auctioned got $600 which i split to two bidders so it was $1,200. Since this was head pastor i compared and taunted crowd and we started climbing by $10 increments. I improvised chatter and got to $650. It was long drawn out, funny, winged it, but I was improvising, rereading highlights of the details etc. When the bidding slows down so much at an event of acquaintances (church, company, neighborhood, charity) what technique is there? This video is great but if the room slows down more and the high bid seems way to low, what tips for boosting it (end of the evening, people are tired etc)? Thanks
Do you have a list of how you are saying the words in short form ? Like how you said doder now as dollar now. I've only been practicing for a few days, and it's like my brain and mouth dont want to cooperate, lol
I am just now starting out trying to become an auctioneer I'm 42 years old retired from the army and wanting to live my life long dream of being a professional auctioneer I just started watching your videos and they are easy to follow but I'm still getting lost on my number calling at times any advice
I'm from the UK, would u say I'm bid would you give, instead of dollar thanks, when I say would you, I obviously meant me, what would you advise, thanks, love videos
I was told if you start with " I" thats a no no. Because you stated that you the auctioner bid that number?.. so I'm bid .. would state that you are willing to give 1 dollar for that item? Or is it just "I bid 1 dollar now" I'm bid it at is different?
As an Auctioneer you are a contracted intermediary for the seller. So as a ambassador for the seller "I'm Bid" states you have a certain amount bid on behalf of the seller.
Hey! Just recently got into this stuff and my biggest flaw is once I start going fast, if I start repeating like “woodagive 2 woodagive 2 woodagive 2 for it” and I go to do it again my brain freezes sometimes and it just comes out like “woodagiblahblahblah” how do I overcome this predicament?
practice and repetition...maybe try throwing in a different filler word to break up the "would you gives" and give your brain the mental restart point. Also slowing down will help to create that muscle memory.
I would say try to sell more from your diaphragm. Put your hand on your stomach, that will sure you are taking deep breaths and letting the air pass over your vocal cords l. Selling from the throat will burn out your voice after about 15 mins ...
love your channel. Real help for a newbie beginner. I have an auction late in Aug for a tropical fish club. EXCITED!! Oh Yeah, I am 80 yrs old and learning a new skill.
Please make more videos. This is incredible content, that can't be found anywhere else!
I'm 18 years old trying to learn to autionneer an I'm following ur videos .. its really helping. Alot . Thanks cant wait to learn more

I Love how you teach holding back on a bid. Make it easy to get close to your sell number
Thanks for answering my question

I love your videos! Thank you Auction Syndicate!
I’m glad you are enjoying the auction practice!!! You thinking about auction school
Used this over the weekend and it went really well. Practice and confidence. Can't thank you enough.
Really Love your channel. Learned a lot from you. Thank you!!

It’s been 2 yrs! Make more vids please! Maybe you consider guests if your struggling for content. Everyone has a different technique.
Having a great time learning

excellent vids
This puzzled me for a loooong time now it makes sense!

Regular from Houston Texas
properties sell for hundreds or thousands. how do you best get the 'hundreds' and thousands' into the chant?? thx so much for awesome videos.
Very good information, but I'm disappointed there was no mangled bike or wonderful T-shirts to sell at the end of this video. Those are a big help.
Well stay turned Peter cause I might just have one in the works!!!

Do you have anymore new videos that I haven't seen? Do I need to have paid UA-cam?
I am just now starting out trying to become an auctioneer I'm 42 years old retired from the army and wanting to live my life long dream of being a professional auctioneer I just started watching your videos and they are easy to follow but I'm still getting lost on my number calling at times any advice
How do you try to start auctioneering?
It’s at this point I go back one video. That was tough
I'm from the UK, would u say I'm bid would you give, instead of dollar thanks, when I say would you, I obviously meant me, what would you advise, thanks, love videos
Are you asking what Filler words id use without using dollar? I didn't quite understand your question.

It’s hard to follow😅 he is such a sweet boy 🤷🏻♀️
You make this look so easy.... but it really isn't
You have to be fast
