BOAT ACCIDENT at MLF Toyota Series Harris Chain!

- Pretty scary Day 1 of the Major League Fishing Toyota Series on Harris Chain! Locked thru with these guys from Lake Apopka in the afternoon and were late for way in. They decided to run the no wake zones and crashed into each other at the bridge almost seriously injuring someone or even worst death! Please there is no reason to kill or hurt yourself over fish, follow all the laws of the water at all times especially during a tournament and responsible for another persons life. Luckily everyone was okay and able to walk away alive!
There are some extremely rude fishermen in the Toyota series fishing events. We don’t want them back at lake Dardanelle. I was cut off multiple times from spots I was fishing first. I was headed to a grass stretch everybody on the lake fishes because it produces a lot of fish and two younger guys that were fishing towards where I was headed hurried up and got their big bass boat going and ran straight down the entire grass I was going to fish on purpose because I was gonna get there first. Stared and laughed and proceeded to come back once more on the back side of me running full speed about 30 feet away from my kayak. They caught a bunch of big spawning females out of the river and took them miles and miles to the weigh in away from their spawning grounds. I grew up on professional fishing and today’s anglers have now taught me to resent pro fishing.
Yeah same here in Palatka Florida. The people that live here are sick of the crap when they hold these tournaments. I've actually had one of these glitter boats pull up on me and tell me I needed to move, this was one of his pre-fish locations. When I told him to fire up his camera guy and tell me that he went crazy. He came back twice telling me to leave the area. You can bet I sat right there until their weigh in time. The next year we had another one of these glitter boats pull up on a clam bar in the river we were fishing and told us to leave. Nope! If they pulled the plug on all these worm jerking tournaments I'd be fine with it. The time of honorable bass fishing tournaments has passed. These glitter boats running 60 mph in Dunn's Creek is going to get someone killed. Only a matter of time. Maybe something will then be done.
This shouldn’t surprise anyone…. The caliber of person fishing tournaments today (or anything else) is not only stupid beyond words, but don’t give a flying sh!t about anything/anyone else on the water. This was just a matter of time. And, it’s the 2nd or 3rd one this year. You could’ve went decades without seeing sh!t like boat wrecks throughout the 70, 80’s, and even 90’s. *The amount of “I don’t give a f^^k today is beyond measure.* I bet both these guys know exactly to work their FFS bullsh!t though, don’t they….
I agree with all of this- and this type of “fishermen” (I say that lightly) outnumber the ones with some common sense and courtesy 3 to 1. My head has been on a swivel for years. The good news is instead of getting a check, they’ll be writing one for years.
@@pcseiden1 Yup.... I don't like sounding like a garden-variety, internet troll (the world is fed-up with that, as well). But, this sport took a major turn for the worst, what seems like roughly a decade back.....maybe even longer. Even listening to these guys talk to each other on the way to this wreck was painful. There's no class, or shame, in professional-bass fishing anymore. We're so far away from the sport our forefathers created (Hank Parker, Roland Martin, Lindner's, etc...) that, like I said, it's causing people to lose interest in fishing altogether, which is a horribly sad. Someone's kid is growing up watching these guys thinking that bass fishing is all about pressing buttons, and when you talk about bass fishing, it's important to make sure that every other word that comes out of your mouth is "f**k". And, most of us are guilty of that to some degree, myself included...but, these guys act like it's the only word they know. The whole sport is just so ugly now...

@DoingitallHardway you can disagree all you want, but there were NEVER so many accidents in bass fishing until gen Z decided it looked cool and started participating. Under 21 = 150hp max. It'll help significantly.
"Put it in neutral way back there" Yeah bullshit. Per the rules the co-angler is obligated to report rule breaking or unsafe driving to the tournament director. How they thought they would get away with running no wake zone

Just because you are a "professional" bass fisherman doesn't mean that you know a thing about safe watercraft operation. All tournament organizations should require their anglers to take mandatory boat safety courses. The amount of reckless boating I've seen on the Harris Chain during tournaments is unreal.

Boating laws are like any other law…. If you’re a stupid, entitled, punk that doesn’t give a f^^k, then laws are irrelevant.
Jeez thought experienced anglers would have the sense to know your boat will not slow down if you put it neutral whilst on the plane. Besides that a no wake zone means idle speed !! Lucky nobody was injured hopefully they learn from their mistakes.

See it all the time. These boats aren’t toys. Every angler should have to show a boater’s safety class card. Hate to say it and don’t want it but as usual stupid people end up ruining it for the rest of us. FLW and BASS have to much to loose. You watch new rules will be coming. I watch HS tournament on santee scared me to death not a place to play. To many boats in these tournaments. Greed as usual is going to get someone killed
This is why in New York state no matter how old you are or how long you been driving your boat you need to take another boating class
No wake zones for a reason. The one guy should be banned. Period.

had one come by me and three other boats fishing in a creek that was only 75 to 100 feet wide all the rest of us went in no wake tournament fisherman just about put our boats on the bank with his speed and I had my anchor out no respect

@@panmanfishing takes lots of experience to be able to operate these boats to at top end. Parents these days are just dishing out $200k for a truck and boat and sending their kids to the lake. Not good.
Wondering out loud….did the guy who got hit get money for everything that was damaged? Sometimes those insurance companies will fight everything.
Just for the record, this is an actual accident with medical emergency, and everyone was just kind of hanging around worrying about Boats. Not a really good way to handle an emergency.
Get rid of the tournaments. Grown men fishing for money and all the problems that go with it.

The problem is, it's generally not "grown men", but teenagers that are given a 250 horsepower surfboard by mommy and daddy. There was hardly ever an accident in bass fishing until Gen Z decided to participate because of how cool it looks.

It doesn’t pay to be Evil Knievel with an EGO. How did that work out for you ? I fish BFL Cowboy division and they run up on me all the time. I wear my life jacket while I’m fishing because the egos are unpredictable!! Be safe out there. ❤️🫶🎣
