Before to begin, I'd like to anticipate this, I am italian, born and rised in this country myself.
Although, I have been playing a lot of souls like games, I am simply focusing on the one who has been made by my connationals now, so I will share my totally honest and personal opinion about this title if you are interested to listen me.
Enotria, in latin it means "land of the wine" Such name is pretty much a wanted choice, because during the wine harvest, is also a time of great changes, and innovations, a journey of rejoyce and celebrations and wishes for the future you see?
This game has been developed by italians, set in Italy for anyone.
The only other titles I remember who it was actually italian were those two Resident Evil saga clones AKA Daymare and Daymare 1996. The first one was a complete disaster while the second one, if even with a lot of issues nonetheless, it was an average game overall for being merciful.
Back to Enotria, it's a AA game, hard to expect an actual masterpiece, but they are trying so hard, the level design as well as the locations are totally realistic as they precisely depicts a shot of all the regions of our beloved land included: Sardegna, Sicilia, Campania, Toscana, Liguria, Veneto, Lombardia, etc. as well as the typical folkloristic masks, each with their own meanings and secular tradition history. As a matter of fact, there is even a boss which it is a tribute to one of the greatest italian actors and commediants which is Antonio de Curtis AKA "Totò" from the greatest Napoli school teather.
I won't go on philosophies, but I sense that this game has got an utterly potential, please don't consider me a complete fool when I even say that has got some similarities with Absolver for some reason (even if their respectively both level design and combat system are diametrically opposed) at all.
Enotria, never had the pretense of challenging neither Lies of P nor Elden Ring, but to offer a different perspective a more anonymous yet ancestral one nevertheless do you get me there?
I know that the demo it was a complete disaster before due of bugs and glitches, but first it is simply a demo, secondly still better to experience all the issues there than in the final product right my friends?
Let's talk about the combat system, the parry should be revised and the combat system rebalanced, we all know that but heed me please, have you ever noticed that during a boss fight when you hit them with an heavy weapon, they get staggered at each of your charged attacks? Instead in the japanese souls like school, if u do such a thing even back stab them, they either rataliate or turn of 60 degrees and damage you if not instant kill you? Now, I encourage you to reflect on the real differences and what a game like Enotria the Last Song has got to offer as an actual new gaming experience. Although the demo has got a plenty of issues itself, I reason to believe that the whole game it will be even worse at the release, almost unplayable I'd say lol, however, isn't an issue that any game has got at the day-1 and how many games have been afflicted by such structural issues at their release then?
They will improve, they will fix their mistakes to guarantee a more higher quality game in the end, they are not a renowned software house but a small and passionate company set in Milan/Lombardia, they don't have years of development experience still they, or I better should say "we" would love to show you the beauty and mesmerising story of our country with all the dedication and intention, that maybe differ from others, those devs who simply want a money grabber game and nothing else with no anima for the details.
P.S. you would forgive my english and my burlesque accent though but I am truly italian, as we are all actors on the same stage after all. :bows: Grazie! To whoever has been reading this long scrolls until the end and maybe will buy the game eventually.😊

Lies of P is one of my favorite all time games, so I hope this is great!
Honestly it looks really beautiful, I just wish these games had a way to lower the difficulty because I can't be bothered spending hours meticulously learning the moves of every boss

You can in Rise of the Ronin. It's actually similar to both Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro, each have got the chara editor and difficulty selection as well, I hope it helps.😊

It looks pretty but basically it’s just another Souls style game. We need more originality in games today. This is a pass for me.
It certainly has its own unique flavor, but I'm starting to think too many of these games are using the same general formula for gameplay. At a certain point, things like the attack animations and parry mechanics all start to feel the same.

Games seriously bugged/broken. After new update the jester boss (I've beaten) reappears frozen and new doors locked. After I spent 3 bloody hours grinding to beat him (PS5). Saw same comment on Twitter. Pretty annoying.
