Having Hallucinations In a Job Interview |

  • In this #schizophrenicstorytime I talk about the time that I had a visual and auditory hallucination and I truly believed in the moment that there was an additional person interviewing me. Hallucinations tend to cause a bit of delusion which makes it difficult to differentiate between what is real and what it not, and it can greatly affect my critical thinking skills.
Please let me know if you have any of my past schizophrenic story times from TikTok or that you remember for the last few years that you would like me to take more time to break down and talk about.
Thank you AGAIN for helping me reach 100,000 Subscribers!

There’s a cool local bookstore in my city that does readings/signings and they try to emphasize marginalized authors. It’s a well known store in the area and people will come from out of town for some events. I would be happy to send you the name and location privately if you’re interested. I’m in Washington state, so idk if you would want to come all the way over here but it would be so cool to meet you. I also am mentally ill and I am currently in the process of trying to start working after 10 years of being unable to (7 years on disability). I am looking forward to your book, mental illness and work is such a huge issue!

They always tell me they’ll give me a call and never do. Or if they do they say I’m not what they’re looking for but I can’t help but to think that it might just be my other things going on

Bloody hell, that's awkward and terrifying... Your very hardworking man kudos to you... Just asking, what happens if you try to interact physically with your hallucination, do they respond, move away if you try to touch them? When you ask them question if they are real and do something like grab a bottle or something, do they attempt to do it or how do they respond? This is fascinating to me.

I dont have schizophrenia but i have fibromyalgia and can relate to wanting to work and not go on disability. The Healthcare world wouldnt give me the meds i needed to function and got lucky finding Kratom that essentially lets me function as normally as possible given the circumstances. I hate that our culture doesnt do more to work with us when we WANT to contribute and not be a drain if we can help it.

    • @H37P5kY57

Wow this is me too! I'm so glad I found kratom but if they ever do make it illegal, I am unaliving my self. Living in constant pain and the medical community gaslights me saying I'm just suffering from mental help... I did do all they wanted me to do of seeing a psychiatrist, doing east/west meds like buying tens machine, cupping, acupuncture, trying to exercise, practicing mindfulness and I'm told that I'm just not doing it well enough and thus I need to focus on mindfulness. After years of that baloney I found kratom and now I can get up in the morning take my dose so I can start waking up and moving and get ready for the day even when the pain, fatigue, and insomnia has me feeling a pain level of a 8...I can usually manage to get that pain down to a 5 and I function. I as well do not want disability - I want to work and be self-sufficient. I don't want anyone needing to physically care for me for basic functions. My SO sometimes gets annoyed because he wants to lets say open up a jar for me and I'm like no, I can do it.

Im pretty young and i know it usually gets worse with age, but im 20 yrs old, my dad is paranoid schizophrenic and my mom is a bipolar drug addict, over the years i thought it was just normal to hear other voices than your own in your head, i now pray that im just paranoid because i have a son and i watched my dad slowly go from well, my dad, to this person thats sometimes my dad, i was just wondering if this is definitely schizophrenia bekng passed to me or if i might just be projecting because i saw my dad talk to people that werent there my whole life.

Hey, maybe you should mention the new drugs that are being developed, such as Iclepertin for people with schizophrenia and their cognition. I think it would be a great thing to show that new drugs are being developed, that can radically change a persons life.

Disability declines me cause my age. But i struggle hard holding down work. right now I'm in Vocational Rehab. which is work training program where they just put u to work and list it as "self Employed" . they treat me well though. lets me stop and work through things when things don't seem like they are adding up after a bit. Hoping new real job I'm trying to get that says it works with people like me, takes me on.

does noticing the confusion in yourself or others give you a hint that something might not be real? or is it more like when you're dreaming and the thought doesn't cross your mind? trying to put myself in your shoes, in that situation i would probably sense that something is off and ask them politely to stop interrupting each other.. and then feel very embarrassed and self-aware if they said no one else was there.. does being told something you are seeing/hearing isn't real upset you or make you socially anxious? i can imagine it's not pleasant..
