Who'd you sell your soul to to get an IR-2? Round 1 - UAFX easily. As dialed in the IR-2 was too muddy and muffled. Round 2 - Same. Round 3 - IR-2 finally wasn't so muddy it was useless, but UAFX wins again. Round 4 - Being nice, and saying toss-up, because I think the level was too low, when recorded for the IR-2, and if not, it may have won this round.
Ordered it Dec. 26.....took this long to get it. I don't understand why it is so hard to come by? Boss is no stranger to mass production, I don't get it.
@@badbrad Neither do I. I wonder if they stupidly tried the new trend (hopefully dead now) of pushing them out ahead of schedule to reviewers, to get buzz going. I've looked and can't find any info as to why the delay/lack of production.
I got mine from a local shop that happened to show 1 in stock one morning. If you have a Reverb account, keep an eye on your notifications. The dealer said they put in an order for 5 units and Boss sent them 1. LOL….sounds like Boss underestimated demand.
I saw a video where this guy liked the lion pedal but said there was a slight delay when stomping on the switch . He needed it not to do that I guess. I wonder if the boss pedal is better ? Kind of a big deal if I’m going to spend $400 .
@@badbrad The Brit setting gave it away, Boss picked a hollow sounding IR for that one IMO. I loaded my IR2 with some York IR’s that I have and love in my IR200….but it still didn’t change my mind on the IR2. I ended up getting a Pod Express, hoping the amp models will feel similar to my HX stomp. Your demo of the Pod is what sold me on it! 😎
I would guess sound wise and feel wise the UAFX would be better, but I like boss stuff and the UAFX doesn't have a headphones out. Why UAFX, why? ❤ Great demo and I love the Ibanez and the SG man.
Wow that is a gorgeous Gretsch LE Sparkle Jet and sounds awesome too! Lion has some great tones and if I didn't have the Superblock UK I'd be buying one as I need those Marshall tones. Not sure why the Boss IR-2 sounds a bit muted in this demo. One thing, Lion missing headphone output means having to run through an audio interface which can be inconvenient for grab and play. Boss sensibly added one to IR-2 so in my mind Boss wins this runoff, given their amps are good enough.
The boss sounded almost muffled like a blanket was over the speaker. 😂 The Boss also didn't seem to have as much gain to me. By far the UAFX soumded much better.
Hey dude , just watching the channel and dropping some comments to keep uncle Algorithm happy. 🤟😎🎸
Mucho apreciado bro!
Great vid, I go back and forth on these as the Boss is cheaper, but the UA sounds so much better and more options
It does often come down to price. But ultimately tone wins.
Going with the Lion. More clearer and you dialed in some great "Marshall" like tones. The BOSS sounded muffled. Cool video.
Thanks for checking it out! I tend to agree with you here.

The trend needs to be get them out to reviewers and have them ready and in stock at dealers.....@@justmehere6094

Man thanks so much.

I'm not sure about that...don't own it anymore.
Were they going through the same IR? I wasn’t a fan of the stock IR’s that came with my Boss IR-2.
Both using stock IR's. Haven't had any luck putting other IR's in the Boss, I'm gonna have to dig deeper and figure it out.

@@piercem26 Glad I could help. I do like the Pod Express it's just so easy to dial in.
The Lion 🐯 chomped on that IR-2 like it was a 3 legged gazelle 🦌 Was it a huge mess to clean up the blood?
I can always count on you for the best comments! Love it.

Thanks brother! Yeah I think the UAFX missed the boat on alot of things but it does sound great.
@@badbrad Absolutely brother. ♥️🤘

You really can’t go wrong with any of these units, it just comes down to what works best for you.
Love that guitar!
The Gretsch!
Yes it is a real looker and has it's own sound. @@alancovert5088
I like the UA sounds more here. Anyway I've a Boss IR-2 and I'll keep it.
You can't go wrong either way.
The lion sounds much more like a real Marshall
I have to agree with you here. Thanks for watching!
@@badbrad I am very impressed with that LION. To me it is the best MIAB i have heard yet,🔥🤘
I am to. It captures all the glory and some of the shall we say even less favorable characteristics, it truly is a marvel. @@Murphy_R9

@@badbrad Thanks man. It was pretty easy on this one. ♥️🤘
@@hoosierdaddy2308 I think with some experimentation with the IR's, I think the Boss unit can sound really good.
@@badbrad Agree. Maybe some Ownhammer IRs. They are killer. 🤘♥️
The boss ir-2 modded is only one that sounded good. All the Lion’s were good.
