      Mason Lilly I was pissed I watched this I jumped up and was like WHAT!? I was in shock when he was thrown out and Caleb knew it was just a bad pitch

    I would have pulled the entire team off the field, and forced MLB to either reverse the call (and remove the ump) or explain to the fans that there will be no game tonight. Horrific call. Umpire trying to be the star.

    this is a ridiculous call by the umpire! Kevin gausman wouldn't try to hit somebody if he was 2 scoreless innings in. besides you don't hit someone with a 77 mph pitch when sale was throwing at 98mph

      Your team was annoying in that series just cuz manny accidentally hit Dustin he slid and his foot bounced up and manny was getting thrown at from that moment on

      @@galactic_clashx4056 That he slid in hard wasn't an accident. That the foot went up and spiked pedroia was an accident, and a costly one at that. It was intended to be a hard slide, not intended to be a dirty slide because it wasn't, even pedroia himself said that it wasn't dirty and playing hard is part of the game.

    I’ve seen this umpire make so many bad calls and poor judgement. He was behind home plate in G6 of the ‘19 World Series too. He’s giving Angel a run for his money for the worst umpire in the league

    Manager can be ejected as well as pitcher even if warnings have not been issued.

      If announcers being biased is suddenly an issue, Baltimore’s shouldn't get a free pass. They're definitely not among the more passive ones out there.

      I'll disagree. There's bean ball history with these 2 teams and the ump said NOPE YOU'RE GONE. Gausman knew if he hit a batter he was gone, he put up a nice act but he knew.

    Let me say this, there has been some bad history between the Orioles and Red Sox. Too many times, I've seen these 2 teams go at it, and every time, a pitcher nails a batter, and either benches are warned, or the pitcher is gets tossed.

    Other announcers usually get heat for being biased and getting too emotional, but Baltimore's are definitely guilty of it too.

    Guzman tried to cover it up by tossing a duece but ump wasn't buying it. Nice try. Threw right at Bogey. With the friction between both teams, ump made the only call he could despite what these two goofball announcers say. I love the catchers reaction though.

      Nonsense. The point of hitting someone is that it’s supposed to hurt. It defeats the purpose to hit a guy with your slowest pitch. If your teammate gets thrown at with a 98 mph fastball like Machado did, you’re not going retaliate by hitting someone in the hip at 77 mph. Not to mention it’s also the least accurate pitch making it the most difficult to intentionally hit someone with and the easiest to unintentionally hit someone with.

      Sam is an excellent umpire. It’s why he was assigned the plate in game 6 of the World Series in which Tre Turner was called out for interference, and he ejected manager Dave Martinez.

      He wasn't excellent on this night. He overreacted to the obvious. Big time. Ray Charles could see that wasn't a fastball or even a change up. Cold night and it got away from him. This is baseball. Let them play the game. @@rayray4192
