Safe Fall, especially at 4 and preferably 5, is a must for ESFs. I allows you to run Engineer and get away with a bail 80% of the time if you know you're going down and can just spend the last second optimising speed and height. Ammo printer is useful on ESFs, but the need can be negated for most purposes by throwing some certs into the Ammo pool, so instead use the second slot for Counter-Intelligence (if you have it) or target focus if not.
Catlike implant is extremely useful for Stalker suit users (notably, knifes users). Symbiote is bugged as follows: Damage only ticks if you change loadout while alive. When you redeploy, the damage ticks are disabled. This makes it a free nanoweave, basically. When you change loadout while alive, it ticks way too often and poops all over your health.
As someone who mains combat engineer and has used bionics extensively. While it free's up your utility slot for things like C4, Deployable mines or the extra 50 shields. The 100 health you have upon being revived in point holds is not ideal (50 with a revive grenade). It also means you won't able to jam a medkit into yourself to get out of a shitty situation, so it means you have to play much more cautiously and take things slower. The EMPs are also an obvious threat, but personally I only find myself getting EMP'd in situations where I would have died regardless of the implant. At the moment, my combat engineer loadout is Survivalist and avoidance, cuz I die to mines all the time without it.

Some quick information for people: The spitfire turret will spot enemies with the assassin implant, The athlete speed doesn't stack with adrenaline pump, You can also stack Jockey and Robotics Technician for super tanky engineer turrets. I have a dumb question for anyone, what happens if you stack carapace with bionics? or Symbiote with Regeneration?
biotic and carapace will just cancel eachother out, leaving you with little ( and i mean little ) amount of HP ( tempted to say 1 ). and the regen wouldn't work at all due to the symbiote. regen description dose mean without taking ANY damage for a certain amount of seconds.
@@Onus6688 has anyone considered fortify and mending field? if you remember to use fortify, the build dose wonders! ( add some flak armor for good measure )
Just recently got coldheart it actually works with the engineer repair tool all the time, (I play tr) I use this when I'm in repair duty in a valk. Or when gunning for a harrasser.
I run Bionics & Jockey 5 on a flash with a medic, scout radar and shield regen field, I park up in a combat situation, jump on the back seat and just sit there reviving everyone dying around me whilst getting copious amounts of xp for healing, scout radar, shield regen and reviving, flame thrower on the flash and nano regen, flak jacket.. honestly it's beastly.
oh, this build also heals maxes, and with maxed out vehicle healing on your medic you can heal through walls, or even different floors, sit above the fight in a safe room and you're laughing
I feel like it bears mentioning on athlete that even though there are some better implants, it is one of the few that you can instantly notice when you equip in a big way. makes all the classes movement feel better, more smooth.
I just upgraded my engineer to a really nice load out. I have survivalist, Robotics technician, Demolitions pouch, C4, Bishop, and a mag scatter. It's really fun and effective tbh.
For me I can't imagine not running mending field. Although that's cause I've always used recharging field on my medic. Combine that with Max rank regen and I've rarely had issues with my medic holding a point with my squad. Hell there have been times I was able to push rooms a heavy couldn't cause I'd throw down the RF and keep getting my health and shields healed right up. Combine that with a couple medics and heavies and you can push everything short of a max crash Edit: My friend just shared his medic push loadout which use mending field and assimilate together with regen sticks and it seems to work in tandem with my setup.
They should change the drop rates for types of implants, and remove some of the useless implants (e.g. Cold Heart ir Minor Cloak) and add implants that have a clear benefit to using.
i mean coldheart isn't THAT useless... right? but minor cloak i find okay if you wanna be a stalker infil and have a primary. ( now i wonder, does deep opperitive effect minor cloak? be really nice if it did. )
I use it on my Lock-on Heavy. Especially if you fight air, you get some damage, which you often survive and then have a calm period of 20 to 30 secounds before you get nuked again. In that time, the regeneration comes in quite handy. Especially since you rarely get medics, that support anti air heavies.
actually you can see infil with flashlight. i play light+infra+regen. IMO safefall with std jetpack is not obligatory.with ambush i replace regen with safefall. and almost all the time i use flashlight with main weapon
15:50 As far as I tested this it doesnt feel right. I feel like a heavy assault or Sniper still kills you kinda easily while on the turret. Headshot multi is just too strong to make the extra shield worth it. The bug that hides your hitbox for whatever reason is still the best way to survive when using the mana turret. :D
You need to use it with Robotics Technician to be really tanky with it. I have survived sniper rifles to the head before with it. Plus if you are getting damaged and need to take a breather, you should angle the turret such that it hides your head from the enemies; especially good if you know there is a sniper looking at you. " The bug that hides your hitbox for whatever reason is still the best way to survive when using the mana turret." I wasn't aware of this bug, do you mind explaining it?
I've been staring at my low level implants for ages, i havent touched them since they first came out. I'm never really sure what i should be fully certing into as they cost so dam much. the only one i like is the one that gives me the HP bar of your target someone, i find it near impossible to play without it, especially fighting against vehichles or maxes.
@@CMDRCyrious I could have sworn it is backwards. It says so on the patch notes that Advance shield capacitor's -1 shield cooldown does not stack with survivalist. Listening to the implant overview and I kept thinking of what implants I have on my Eve Online Characters for some reason, then I realized that it was because the music playing in the video was made by RealX.
would minor invisibility basically make a sniper permanently invisible exept for a splitsecond to shoot? shoot -> use cloak to bridge the 8 seconds implant activation time -> uncloak and use invisibility implant -> repeat
Robotics Technician + Jockey both at 4~5 is what I always pack on my AI engineer with the AI turret. I can take bolt actions to the face and find a medic afterward. Amazing for suppression. Does survivalist stack with engineer passive and shield suit? Also is the 80$ bundle worth it for just carapace and bionics?
@@CMDRCyrious I thought only the survivalist reduction doesn't stack with advance shield capacitor's -1 second delay they added. Does it now no longer stack with engineer? Side note: Does the Advance shield capacitor's -1 stack with engineer's pasive?
@@josephburchanowski4636 I may be wrong, I thought survivalist was no longer super for engineers because it did not stack with their class one. But I may be wrong on that.
They changed fortify to give you nanoweave armour when you stand still (at max rank) for 0.1 seconds. Seems alright now but probably only good for Engineer.
Haha! Typical I got Bionics bus wanted to know more about it, as I believed my bar would turn blue like a shield version of Carapace but it doesn't. I still have almost equal, seemingly, bars still! Asked in chat a few times if anyone knows if it could be bugged...I was hoping you'd tell me more!🤘🤣 Great show though as per.. About time you finished this!😜 HeHe cheers dude you'r a boos! P.S: Carapace still illudes me also, as does logistics 😥
Dbg claims they fixed the bug with critical chain lasting forever in a patch notes not too long ago, however I still get the effects until I change my loadout.
I'm sad critical chain is broken. It's soo OP and going after a bolter who abuses it sucks. You need one headshot kill and you're all set, it's gonna stay active for the rest of your playsession. You can go play an other class, go in vehicles, or even remove the implant and you're still gonna have the effect on your bolt rifle next time you use it
I love Electrotech but can only run it out in the open. Cause the second you get near any sort of structure, and your shield drops, you're killing all of your allies. Detonating enemy deployables is disastrous as they're often deployed....right next to your feet. Useful while babysitting armor but nothing else. Just make it not detonate allied deployables, fixed implant. Gunslinger is interesting but basically useless. I've used it quite a lot and it just needs to be reworked. I'd prefer if it gave pistols extra magazine size and ammunition count. Pistols are already pretty speedy to switch to/from. What they really need is better sustain. Swapping out your guns quickly isn't nearly as useful as a speed boost/shield restoration. I've had times where the swap/reload speed has come in handy. But, it's not enough to make something like dual pistols viable. Mobility Mesh is fantastic. I really wanted to like Nanomesh Specialist and I do run it on my Naga loadout. It's kinda okay in this one niche use. Really wish Ransack restored ammo to a single nearby vehicle, not just one you owned. I'd really like to restore ammo to random armor I'm inside of. Response Jacket is really, really great. It's way better than Flak Armor once it's been triggered. Y'know when you're walking out of spawn and are pelted by some really fantastic gentlemen using balanced explosives? No problem, you brought your jacket. That fucking banshee that can kill maxes in one mag and is totally fair and balanced? Sorted. That PPAsshole spamming at the spawn while playing fortnite? No worries. A glorious implant that deserves some love. Sensor Shield is kinda busted. Glad it doesn't do more than it does. Vampire is how dual wielding pistols is at all viable. It's not just for Enzo wannabe's. Cold Heart should be useful for all factions, not just VS. What a stupid, worthless implant to get as NC or TR. I really loathe whoever designed this and made sure it was the first exceptional implant that your character drops. C'mon, you know it's true. It boggles my mind that other faction-specific implants weren't implemented. Angry. You can get a free Infravision by just exploiting the scopes. I don't really see a point for it. A lot of these implants just need little buffs and improvements and they'd be useful. Also, buff the EM-1.
Idk in PC, but in PS4 we can only breakdown duplicates of Implants. About Fortify, I think it would be better that instead of you receiving a buff, it makes the capture point being harder to capture, like it make the progress slightly slower, but I dunno
I just watched the whope video in 360p xD Btw what's up with Revenant? And you can literally use Infravision for free, all you have to do is get a NV scoped weapon and be quick enough to scope in and scope out and your whole screen will be in NV.. If you scope again with the NV scope, you'll lose it. You can switch between classes and keep this effect. I reported this a year ago with /bug don't know if it's still in the game but hey, you can save an extra implant spot!
When I first played planetside I had got bionics and carapace not relizeing the power I had I deleted that character kinda like in destiny were I had Ghorn and dismantled it I have a weird gaming history.
@@CMDRCyrious just a request do you think you could do weapon reviews I liked the watchman review you made and think you could do great with the other TR or faction weapons that don't get alot if spotlight.
I don't see how Assassin is an infiltrator based loadout; as you can clear spots just by cloaking and decloaking. The only benefit you get from it as infilitrator is the tier 5 bonus of spotting enemies you damage. But all in all it is pretty useless on an infiltrator. It probably works best for battlerifle users and other long ranged weapons, as at close range you pretty much are always on the radar unless you are stacking it with sensor shield; plus you'd need to get headshots for it to get effect if you are using it at close range. Its tier 5 effect might also work well if you are doing light splash damage while operating more as a supportive suppressive fire role. such as when using the Lasher or Thumper. Might work well with flash/concussion grenades, as it it shows you who just got splashed. Still is an overly niche ability.
As an engineer with spitfire turret and battle rifle i'm considering. Sneaky buttsecs spies on point would have an harder time. Also spamming the spot button all the time kinda distracts me from lining up my shots.
personally, i don't use "crutch" implants ( such as combat surgeon ) as often, i usually use quality of life implants ( like gunslinger ) because, like you said, dieing dose always happen, in other words; i don't seek to be the best. If you excuse me, i gotta regain my aim, cus aim assist spoiled me REAL badly XD )
Hey Commander, What implants would u suggest for a light assault with skirmisher jet. Just some basic implants. Currently I am running Regen. And catlike.
Symbiote doesn't trigger until 30 seconds of no damage taken/kills at rank 5, then it ticks every 15 seconds. If you unlock bionics, I urge you to try out symbiote and ASC on engineer with a secondary shotgun and AR/LMG primary, spitty and then C4 in your utility for tossing through doors - seriously one of the strongest builds I've played, and your shields, even after EMP, regen back to full in under 5 seconds. I've been trying asc, bionics, and symbiote on HA just to try and curb my medi kit addiction by replacing my utility with aux shield - it's worked pretty decently so far.
Oh also can you pls do a video on practicing headshots. I know you made a vid on it but I'd like to see if there's anything different now and I just want to hear expert advice :)

I have a dumb question for anyone, what happens if you stack carapace with bionics? or Symbiote with Regeneration?
Good tips, and no I haven't tried those combos
biotic and carapace will just cancel eachother out, leaving you with little ( and i mean little ) amount of HP ( tempted to say 1 ). and the regen wouldn't work at all due to the symbiote. regen description dose mean without taking ANY damage for a certain amount of seconds.
@@gleena5540 thank you !!
@@Onus6688 has anyone considered fortify and mending field? if you remember to use fortify, the build dose wonders! ( add some flak armor for good measure )
@@gleena5540 Huh.. now I'll have to try that
Just recently got coldheart it actually works with the engineer repair tool all the time, (I play tr) I use this when I'm in repair duty in a valk. Or when gunning for a harrasser.
I run Bionics & Jockey 5 on a flash with a medic, scout radar and shield regen field, I park up in a combat situation, jump on the back seat and just sit there reviving everyone dying around me whilst getting copious amounts of xp for healing, scout radar, shield regen and reviving, flame thrower on the flash and nano regen, flak jacket.. honestly it's beastly.
oh, this build also heals maxes, and with maxed out vehicle healing on your medic you can heal through walls, or even different floors, sit above the fight in a safe room and you're laughing
this feels like it would lock you out of exp, like any typical medic/engi exp farming would. i approve/promote!!!!
@@bakedmomo5693 it does!!! In big battles you hit the xp cap
Great video. I'm liking the regular uploads. Keep it up.
Thank you will do!
Excellent guide for new and veteran players alike!
Definitely need to grind the iso for assimilate and robotics technician.
I feel like it bears mentioning on athlete that even though there are some better implants, it is one of the few that you can instantly notice when you equip in a big way. makes all the classes movement feel better, more smooth.
I've been watching your videos for a long time, but somehow this is the video that triggered me to update planetside and hop back on
Hey, welcome back!
Thanks for you time and effort
I just upgraded my engineer to a really nice load out. I have survivalist, Robotics technician, Demolitions pouch, C4, Bishop, and a mag scatter. It's really fun and effective tbh.
Nice!
Combine that with a couple medics and heavies and you can push everything short of a max crash
Edit: My friend just shared his medic push loadout which use mending field and assimilate together with regen sticks and it seems to work in tandem with my setup.
Been wondering how some foes have been turning invisible!!! Great guide Commander!!!
They should change the drop rates for types of implants, and remove some of the useless implants (e.g. Cold Heart ir Minor Cloak) and add implants that have a clear benefit to using.
@izuna tanimaki I got Cold Heart on my NC account. I can tell you it's VERY useful.
I cried myself to sleep.
i mean coldheart isn't THAT useless... right? but minor cloak i find okay if you wanna be a stalker infil and have a primary. ( now i wonder, does deep opperitive effect minor cloak? be really nice if it did. )
Regeneration implant is a life saver (literally) on C4 light assaults if you don't hang around medics
That is a really good point if you don't have medkits regeneration is great.
I keep my happy holidays banner up all year as well, spread the cheer!
" The bug that hides your hitbox for whatever reason is still the best way to survive when using the mana turret."
I wasn't aware of this bug, do you mind explaining it?
I've been staring at my low level implants for ages, i havent touched them since they first came out. I'm never really sure what i should be fully certing into as they cost so dam much. the only one i like is the one that gives me the HP bar of your target someone, i find it near impossible to play without it, especially fighting against vehichles or maxes.
Yes that is a super convenient one!
Does survivalist stack with the advanced shield capacitor?
Yes, but not with the engineers innate shield recharge cooldown reduction.
Nope.
@@CMDRCyrious I could have sworn it is backwards. It says so on the patch notes that Advance shield capacitor's -1 shield cooldown does not stack with survivalist.
"Advanced Shield Capacitor now reduces shield recharge delay by 1 second, in addition to its pre-existing benefit. (This benefit does not stack with Survivalist implant.)"
forums.daybreakgames.com/ps2/index.php?threads/july-25-2019-pc-update-midsummer-mentors.252208/
Possibly a bug if it is what you say.
Listening to the implant overview and I kept thinking of what implants I have on my Eve Online Characters for some reason, then I realized that it was because the music playing in the video was made by RealX.
You nailed it.
I used Sweeper Hud on NC Pheonix RL just to shot down enemy aircraft or armor to not waste my shot on a 300m+ target.
Question; is there a visual que that shows when response jacket is triggered like with survivalist?
I don't think so, that would be nice wouldn't it.
would minor invisibility basically make a sniper permanently invisible exept for a splitsecond to shoot?
shoot -> use cloak to bridge the 8 seconds implant activation time -> uncloak and use invisibility implant -> repeat
the lovely EVE online background music :D
Robotics Technician + Jockey both at 4~5 is what I always pack on my AI engineer with the AI turret. I can take bolt actions to the face and find a medic afterward. Amazing for suppression.
Does survivalist stack with engineer passive and shield suit?
Also is the 80$ bundle worth it for just carapace and bionics?
It does not stack with engineer passive, anymore. That was nerfed. It does stack with ASC.
that saddens me,3 seconds less delay
well.. i spend bout 130k certs on implants got 5 ultra rares
3:46 WTH are you stalking me XD
:)
I want to run the Bionics+Survivalist combo on an engy, now that's a lot of shield regeneration. (just don't use it for point holds)
Survivalist shield reduction no longer stacks with engineer shield reduction I am pretty sure :(
@@CMDRCyrious I thought only the survivalist reduction doesn't stack with advance shield capacitor's -1 second delay they added.
Thx for the info man great job!

Does the athlete sprint speed boost stack with adrenaline pump?
No it does not.
@@CMDRCyrious actually, does any buff stack with one another?
wow i missed out on halloween 50 certs for a pumpkin is a lot for so little effort
@@jimvonmoon i was one of those pour souls
They changed fortify to give you nanoweave armour when you stand still (at max rank) for 0.1 seconds. Seems alright now but probably only good for Engineer.
Haha!
Typical I got Bionics bus wanted to know more about it, as I believed my bar would turn blue like a shield version of Carapace but it doesn't.
I still have almost equal, seemingly, bars still!
Asked in chat a few times if anyone knows if it could be bugged...I was hoping you'd tell me more!🤘🤣
Great show though as per..
About time you finished this!😜 HeHe cheers dude you'r a boos!
P.S: Carapace still illudes me also, as does logistics 😥
Does athlete stack with adrenaline pump and survivalist ?
It does not!
Coming out with bangers
When you are so early that it is only in 360p! I bet this is gonna be a good video.
You should try infravision implant with infiltrator, using smoke bolts, and sticky grenades (asp), best setup for making chaos :D
Tbh, I just want those implants that makes my character's bottom bigger.
... VS main ya?
Hahaha I know that some armor make the breast look bigger. I think composite armor does
which soundtrack is the background music?
how do you turn on the killing spree notifications?
Dbg claims they fixed the bug with critical chain lasting forever in a patch notes not too long ago, however I still get the effects until I change my loadout.
It doesn't last forever anymore for me, though the particle effect still gets stuck.
I always use safe fall because i have a habit of jumping/falling off high places wither i have it on or not
Hi, is it possible to drop special implant at the end of an alert?
I think so, extremely extremely rare, but I am pretty sure I have received 1 exceptional implant as an alert reward.
I have two or three I don't know where they come from °°
@@CMDRCyrious thx mate
I'm sad critical chain is broken. It's soo OP and going after a bolter who abuses it sucks. You need one headshot kill and you're all set, it's gonna stay active for the rest of your playsession. You can go play an other class, go in vehicles, or even remove the implant and you're still gonna have the effect on your bolt rifle next time you use it
I always wondered how those pro snipers could always shoot so fast. Definitively game breaking.
I’ve gotten exceptionals to drop 4 times but out of those 2 of them were duplicates. Damn you firewall and experimental stims.
I've been waiting to spend my 15k iso!
I just watched the whope video in 360p xD
Btw what's up with Revenant?
And you can literally use Infravision for free, all you have to do is get a NV scoped weapon and be quick enough to scope in and scope out and your whole screen will be in NV.. If you scope again with the NV scope, you'll lose it. You can switch between classes and keep this effect. I reported this a year ago with /bug don't know if it's still in the game but hey, you can save an extra implant spot!
Revenant should be fixed as of the last patch
@@CMDRCyrious Oh right it's broken xD
Can you lose ISO if you don't use it? I swear I had like 4000 then the next day 1300.
No man, it does not decay.
so what about the rangefinder implant? did that get removed altogether? is there a substitute?
How noticeable is cold heart on the Betelgeuse would anyone happen to know?
When I first played planetside I had got bionics and carapace not relizeing the power I had I deleted that character kinda like in destiny were I had Ghorn and dismantled it I have a weird gaming history.
DOH!
If you excuse me, i gotta regain my aim, cus aim assist spoiled me REAL badly XD )
oh yea, try fortify and mending field. be really good for a siege medic, if you remember to interact ( but noone is that dedicated for 1 implant ).
did you even try combine phylactery + safeguard 5 combo on your max? it really helpful
Never tried it, sounds sweet.
@@CMDRCyrious so basicly when your max down, you get up with 1k5 hp and 20% resistance for few second, really sweet combo imo
It's better to get phylactery + EOD
Hey Commander,
What implants would u suggest for a light assault with skirmisher jet. Just some basic implants. Currently I am running Regen. And catlike.
Those sound good. Check out my Advanced Light Assault guide, for my loadout implant choices.
Counter intelligence,assimilate,ammo printer, survivalist
About nightmare 5. It's bugged. You can be spotted and spitfires are still shooting at you and the cloak is more visible than infils
I think that's intentional it's not supposed to be a full-on cloak
@@CMDRCyrious yep its intentional. It would be quite OP if it acted like a regular cloak.
Wow this'll be a good one
Big thank you for video, it was very-very helpful:)
You're welcome!
Cold Heart works passive on the rep tool. you dont have to kill anybody
Toni is correct, but that is a change that was made to the implant after this video was released. It is now a good implant.
Honestly. One of my best loadouts is LA with minor cloak and the Gladius. Nobody expects the cloaker to be in the rafters.
Oh also can you pls do a video on practicing headshots. I know you made a vid on it but I'd like to see if there's anything different now and I just want to hear expert advice :)
I only got 50 certs a pumpkin twice or something.
Maybe it's only for duplicate items?
Correct, it only happened after you got all the cosmetic things.
man I wish there was a SA server in PS2, not sure how the pop would change for NA servers, but if I could play it with less ping I would return in a second.
Not sure if this is normal, but i managed to juggle myself atop a friends galaxy on a flash, I was decked out with logistics specialist & wraith cloaking device.
We got to the techlab on indar an driving off the galaxy, i nearly fell from the roof haha,
