Hey guys, doing a raffle on this video for 1000 DBC. If you leave a comment on it, you will be in. CANNOT be a reply, must be a top level comment. Thanks!
i love you videos and i still thank you for letting me be on you stream.
@@captainpicard2684 Thanks for coming out man, good doing battle with you!
@@CMDRCyrious it was an honor sir
Love the vids, you help me keep intrest in the game
Круто, ждём следующие видео, очень интересно и познавательно.
BR 1: Wait, it's all climbable?!
Cyrious: Always has been.
/and then preceed to team kill
19:09 Remember soldiers, when maneuvering the battlefield, keep a rifle in your hand, not your medic tool!
Right on man!
Would help if medic tool can selfheal.
Still guilty sometimes, but I have reduced this habit down to it maybe happening 10% of the time rather than 90%.
Same for Engineers, trying to shoot someone with the repair tool is ineffective and embarrassing.
EcchiRevenge Medic already has self-heal ability
Definitely the devs should implement more in game tutorials for new players
you mean teaching beginner players that they have to abuse Advanced Netcode exploits to compete? ... uh huh... what an _inclusive_ game... Might as well be introducing Newbs to FightingGames by attempting to explain Frame Traps
Maybe not the building climbing, but there are many mechanics in this game that are not explained thoroughly, yet used constantly by the massive majority of the player base that aren't explained to beginners.
step 1 pay to unlock items and perks critical to gameplay, or spend around 1000 hours trying to unlock it in game.
step 2 abuse vehicles explosion radius for easy kills on foot soldiers in buildings
step 3 profit
@@testermonkey2304 you could continent hop for alerts for some extra credits.
Honestly, as a player with ~4000 hours clocked in the game, I never knew about that biolab -wall- tree jump at 23:21. Thanks for sharing that :)
15:36 This one was kind of a footnote but is a HUGE tip. If you see an enemy that is far enough away outside of your effective engagement range (e.g. you have an SMG or other cqc weapon) and they don't see you, Q spot them (be careful that you're not too close that they can hear your character's callout) and now you essentially have wallhacks on them and can hunt them much easier until youre in an engagement range that you can win. Understanding the effective range and damage drop-off of the weapon you're using is huge too. I see far too many new players trying to kill targets at like 100m with a CQC damage model weapon like an SMG. All you're going to accomplish at that range is alerting enemies to your position, wasting an entire mag, and then getting sniped in this face by an infil.
Great video commander. All this stuff I've learned instinctively from so many hours in the game, but I imagine it must be difficult to put yourself in a new player's shoes and try to explain the concepts that seem obvious to us veterans.
Amazing video man! I had no idea about the tree jump at crossroads XD.
Yup, hopefully I will remember this at a appropriate moment.
I really love the Glados announcer you've got, especially when you get a massive amount of kills and she just says "Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit"
I also really appreciate this vid, cause it is the exact issue I've been having with this game every single time I try and get into it.
This man is the only reason why I’m good at the game.I want to see more advanced training guides
21:55
Laughs in maxed out catlike*
Enemies: He’s in the the trees man he’s in the trees
Cyrious: pop goes my rifle
"Hopefully you're starting to see, all these principles of maneuvering start weaving themselves together into a big protective blanket of not dying in PlanetSide" 😂
Personally you should address the "Ostrich effect" (An ostrich sticks its head into the dirt, so now he believes he is invisible) where new players will hold a peek that they think is cheeky but in reality they become an easy target. I have seen too many BR 1-15s hold angles that are just down right dumb to hold, and they think that since they cant see me, it must work both ways. Teach things like right angle peeks( you know, the peek where you can safely hide your head behind cover while shooting from an angle).
Could you explain further? I feel like I do this now that you say it
Great video. There is also one more usefull thing lot of people still dont use:
- when you use a lift your fall damage is removed for few seconds (doesn't mater if it is the yellow for going up or the blue one for going down)
* you can use this to get down towers quickly or to get from a fight or when ever you need to get down somewhere fast. Just touch the lift (dont have to ride it the all the way) run to where you want to jump and jump (you have only few seconds before the fall damage is back but once you are in the air you should land safely)
It makes me happy everytime I see a Terran Republic youtuber😬 and remember, this is called Tactical Superiority!
That crossroads watchtower tree path has been very useful ever since I saw you do it on stream. Being able to get a heavy assault on a flank normally only accessible to light assaults or infils is very powerful in a large fight.
As always, thanks for the awesome video Commander!
More Gunplay Principles please :D When to ADS or not, taking on amour, avoiding run-overs etc.
visibility - sensitivity - video settings. Cant wait. Awesome videos btw
Man, I've got over 1,000 hours into this game and never knew about some of those areas where you can wall jump/climb.
I've seen people climb other crazy areas, but have been unable to mimic it without the maxed catlike implant.
I highly recommend other players to play around with catlike 5 when they get it. You might find some new unexpected angles to flank from.
Cyrious, you're the only Karen Republic guy I respect
Finding the proper angle is definitley essential to maximizing for survivability and dakka.
Watching this and getting tips is so helpful. I realize how many habits I need to break. Thanks for this video
That dodging before shooting looks like Martial Arts :D
And I will be sure to climb those bio lab buildings from now on hehe
How do you not have more subs a real crime.
One recommendation during a fight in a cqc, especially in the Capture Point (CP), try to put as much thing between you and the enemy. The CP itself gives some cover, but if you find a tall console/terminal in the middle of a room, use it to outflank the enemy, think outside of the box. You planned to come out from the left? Frick it, go for the right.
Also, Indar trees, especially the top of Palms are stupidly good to hide in
I really like the principals of gunplay vids. not only are they helpful to keep me mindfully of the basics, they're also excellent as something to point newer players to so they're less frustrated with the brutal learning curve of Planetside.
As someone who has always been playing only MMORPG and got into PS2 recently, i would appreciate more in-depths guides into 1st person shooters.
This is one way to level the battlefield for sure!
One of my favorite paths to flank is at NC Arsenal.
Take the teleporter and go to the left. You can jump up the rocks and walk through a small crack between 2 peaks. You can hop from this space to B(?) Point roof directly
This is great, it puts into words many things I struggle to explain concisely to some of my friends I've been mentoring in PS2. Thank you for making this video, I hope to see more soon.
This was super helpful! I hope you decide to make more stuff like this in the future :)
About the base specific sneaky paths : there is one at Snake Ravine Lookout on Indar ; next to the spawn, there is one of these « towers » with a phalanx turret, you can easily jump from it to get into the tree and reach the point or just take a look at the fight outside of the facility’s walls (and get some nasty sniper kills if there is a big fight going on). It’s incredibly useful when defending it.
I've found this usefull while palying with elevators: If you go up or down an elevator, you will have a few seconds of fall damage immunity, meaning you wont take damage from falling from a great height. But something I found is that if you land, and then jump every few seconds, this keeps the fall damage immunity going. This is usefull when defending at a tower base. For example, you can take the elevator up and start running towards one of the air pads, if you jump every few seconds, you can fall off the air pad and not take any damage, allowing you to sometimes get the drop on some people.
Hey Cyrious, Wiggy here. Just joined your army and the only time I've ever payed for anything on YT. Thanks for keeping PS2 going and we'll see you on the battlefield and on PS3 when it comes out in the long distance future :)
Wiggy, Thanks a bunch for Enlisting in the Cyrious Army! Your support means the world. Together we rise! And you are right on, we will keep on crashing across Auraxis, hopefully in PS3 some day!
Thanks! Defs needed this. I kept getting beat 1v1 but couldn't identify the issue. Certainly partly because I lacked doing any evasion. I spent all my time focusing on improving aim, but wasn't seeing any improvement. Would like to see more principles of gunplay guides like this.
Thanks for this series. I hope this will prove to be a great resource to assist me in mentoring new players.
Your videos is why it's a honor to be one of your sponsors/Combat Generals. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the real, practical advice! I'm really excited to see the rest of this series! Glad to hear you'll be making videos more often, I miss them
Thanks Commander, this is what I’m looking for as a new player it’s where I struggle the most.
Man this was really really helpful and entertaining ! Thanks you a lot for uploading this vid
I'm sad I didn't notice this video uploaded sooner. Good work, Cyrious. Got to be one of the most in-depth guides I've ever seen.
The brass says we need more of these instructional videos for the soldiers of the Republic! Keep up the great work Commander!
o7
That was a comprehensive video. My head is spinning a bit.
To add to this I managed to apply this knowledge succesfully maybe 30% of the time in my alert today.
Climbing buildings feels like some arcane knowledge.
This is a fantastic video. I look forward to the rest of the series.
Keep making these educational videos, it’s what will get people to play this game.
This is the kind of PlanetSide videos that I like to see. More stuff that helps out new (sometimes even veteran) players. Great job Cyrious! More Principles of Gunplay!!!!!
Thanks for another great vid commander, a lot of useful information I will have to rewatch it a few time for it all to sink in I think
You never want to expose yourself to a friendlies behind. I laughed like hell
As usual great content, A+ helping people learn this glorious game.
That texture climbing is an amazing tip, also explains how I've gotten bamboozled to many times by "sus jump jet" HA
Awesome video and really useful. Yes, more of those please!
Commander Cyrious your videos have helped me so much in my planetside battles. I can't thank you enough for putting out detailed, focused, and easy to understand, beginner oriented cideos alongside your more advanced trainings. I'll keep sending as many new players as i can over to you while I'm on Auraxis, keep doing great Commander!
What a great video for new players and veterans alike. Highly recommend players in any fps watch it. Well done Commander
Awesome video. the series is very needed! a scored range at sanctuary, competitive shooting matches cross faction, moving targets would be amazing in training, ive heard it mentioned a bunch. maybe helmets that reduce the headshot modifier but raise the body modifier equally. your videos all rock! Again, setting the standard!
Nice~ i was amazed by the wall climbing skills in today's livestream and now @Commander Cyrious literally put out a video for it~ appreciate it a bunch!
I wonder if this wall climbing trick works on HOSSIN's trees?
time to hunt those snipers as a Heavy Assault and NOT exposing myself with Icarus Jump Jets! (facepalm XD)
Implementing in-game tutorials is a must, the devs really need to look into it. Heck, an easier route is just link Cyrious’s videos.
Cyrious you always make good stuff, glad to sub keep it up man, you make everyone in the game better.
Learned some amazing tricks, great job on the video Commander!
great guide as usual! excited for the next one!
Welp, I finally made it into a Cyrious video. I can now scratch that off my bucket list. Now to get you to talk about the issues of high skill players/skillfits like the Goblins and sometimes even Recursion or Merc who go out of their way to ruin every single fight for the rest of us.
Anger aside, it's nice to see you making videos again, feels like you and Cami are the only two people in the community who actually make proper, detailed educational videos that isn't obnoxious or lacks tact.
Omg definitely principles of gunplay, advanced training is great but I think it will be more useful to get these tricks and principles first. Optimal loadout only goes so far if I don't EVADE
This series is excellent, coming from Counter Strike I have to say this video is one of the top 3 of all time on tactics in FPS games, really well done with the info in the second half on that.
Wow Cyrious! This is fantastic! Thank you so much for this :)
I love your videos. Allways learning new stuff.
Always love to see a new Cyrious video
Seeing all those buildings climbed *still* feels like witchcraft despite knowing its possible for ages
Did you know algorithm doesnt care about subs or likes, it cares about user activity. Dislikes, likes, comments, subs, clicks, any interaction with the video itself will proc the youtube algorithm, and the algorithm will always find well recieved videos(such as old meme videos) or high activity videos that are recieving a lot of attention
A friend of mine told me that last year. I still don’t know who figured that shit out, but good work spreading it so more people know.
Another excellent video. Never knew about the jump momentum loss mechanic in PS2
that moment when a play makes a better player movement tutorial then the actual tutorial great vod cuzo
Great video. I could feel the tar but never knew exactly where it came from. Thanks commander. O7
If there ever is a Nobel price for gaming I would nominate you in a heartbeat! Thanks for all the awesome content Cyrious.
Great video, thank you very much!
Coming back to listen again. 587 likes no dislikes goddamn Cyrious I think you made a lot of people happy with this one!
Shas good to be running with you man. Yes the Principles of Gunplay is an important series I can tell.
very very helpful, i would love to see more of these
Yes more guides!! This is great i didn't know 90percent of these tips because I'm a vehicle player haha.
Great video - as always and hopefully there will be more like this soon.
WOW! as always outstanding and helpfull contetnt..so much things i can improve on even after all this years ;) Thanks Commander o7!
Thank you for this video. It will help me as a good player to become great!
Coming back to ps2 I feel like I need to rewatch all these vids.
Okay, if I saw you do that stuff with the wall running in game before watching this video, I would've thought you were hacking. That just doesn't seem possible!
Very well done video, I never knew about half of these tricks and I'll definitely apply them to my usual gameplay
18:45
Little late here, but I would love to see more Principles of Gunplay, they're very informative and not tied to a specific class or vehicle.
Yes, definitely will get more going.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for making me a better player!!!
Thank you for all the great content!!!!!
Pls show more secret ways like the tree jump at crossroads
That at the end was a nice lil streak
Thanks for the tips. Love your streams and guides
Helpful. BR 77 here and didn't know about the wall climb...could have allow me to get into better tactical angles.
I don't care this was nine months ago, this this this and more this! Keep me alive
This guide is amazing, I'd like to see other gunplay guides since infantry combat is what most new players like myself are limited to, because I still have no certed vehicles or aircraft.
Visibility - Sensitivity - Setting
*Perseverance
Maneuvering - Recoil Control - Situational Awareness - Aiming
I'd add Perseverance after settings, being a new player you will die, a lot, you should know this AND expect this to be the norm, and you must take every death and learn from it instead of getting upset. After every death you need to look back, analyze and learn, then get back up and do it all over again. 10-100 matches will NEVER be enough to 'git-gud'.
Epic video Cyrius. Thank you.
You couldn't have dropped this at a better time. We're putting a tutorial together for a new player outfit and already have a number of your videos included - even though the outfit is on Genudine PS4 most if not all of this tutorial translates across :)
Hooray for 1000 DBC!
Hey after this vid I’ve been feeling a lot more comfortable when I’m playing, feels good not to die every second
Commenting since he said to comment. Praise the algorithm. Great vid, PS2 is a great and quirky game, and knowing these quirks makes it more fun.
Hey Cyrious, informative video as always. One thing I think that can make your videos better would be timestamps. Your videos run on the longer side and while that's good for influx of information it can be hard to navigate. Great info here!
Climbing those walls is possibly one heck of an exploit, puts me in mind of skiing back in tribes.
It's not an exploit, just a not fully furnished feature.
Very good tips, thanks!
THANK YOU SO MUCH
This video definitely drew me in
Take my sub, this is an amazing breakdown
Thanks Kelmir welcome!
