I hope you loaded up on the free cheese samples. You should also check out the Evergreen Air Museum in McMinnvile. It's only an hour and 20 minutes from Tillamook and it houses the Spruce Goose as well as numerous other aircraft. There's a separate building for rocketry and a third building which is an indoor waterpark. Very cool for the family.
I live in Hillsboro, Oregon and really enjoy spending time on the Oregon Coast. I need to go back to the air museum. It looks like they have added a bunch of new exhibits.
Yes, These buildings are VERY large, but if you get a chance, run down to Mountain View, California and Moffet Field (former Naval Air Station). They have two of these hangers, additionally have Hanger One, a former dirigible hanger. While the blimp (Type B Limp) hangers are big, the dirigible hanger is substantially larger! I have been inside both the museum building at Tillamook AND Hanger One and the difference is astounding. Hanger One is so large it actually can create unique weather INSIDE the building. That being said. if anyone has a chance to get out to the Tillamook Air Museum, by all means, go for it. You won't be dissapointed!
LP use to have a sawmill inside one of the hangers back in the 70's. Yes, there used to be 2 hangers but one burned down due to a hay fire. I have turned my chip truck around inside the hanger and didn't have to back up to do it, .
Thanks for the inspiration for my next road trip! I'm in Albany, this will make a great outing. Have owned a Setpower portable cooler since 2020. and it's still running strong! I chose Setpower because their compressors are used in many of other leading brands. Best of the Holiday Season to you!
Born and raised in Tillamook. My summer job was in the building next to Hangar B. I was in town the night Hangar A burned to the ground. That was the most awe inspiring fire you can imagine. Pieces of wood that were on fire were landing on the roof of the building I worked in that was a quarter mile from Hangar A. My boss spent several hours on the roof with a hose to keep the fire from spreading. We used to sneak in and have parties in there when it was empty. They stored old train cars inside while renovating them which were kind of spooky, but a comfortable place to drink beer. We had a couple baseball practices in there, too. Because of how much it rained in Tillamook, there was even some talk about the logistics of building an indoor baseball field. It's one of those places you just take for granted when you grow up seeing it all the time. Now, the only time I see it is when I'm back in town for a funeral at the cemetery next to the hangar. The largest building in the world claim is close. It's actually the largest wooden structure if I remember correctly. Cool place to check out if you're driving the Oregon coast since it's only about a mile off Hwy 101.
When both were still there my dad hauled lumber out of one he said the truck easily fit inside . We are 50 or so miles away been to the air museum thanks for showing it
There was one of these big blimp hangers in the old Tustin marine base. It was an historical building. The Irvine company had it burned down to make room for a housing development.
Thank you for visiting the tillamook area. Did you notice the basketball hoop way above the hanger door at the air museum? Im sure no one has ever made a basket. Save hanger B. I worked at tillamook creamery for 34 years.
Adjacent to the museum is the headquarters of Near Space Corporation (NSC). Concepts which capitalize on the potential of lighter-than-air platforms have been explored there for decades. Some of those concepts have been profitably operationalized.
I loved this video, I like to know the history. This little fridge is fantastic, thanks for showing it. I loved the cheese factory part, I really like seeing how things are made. Gran abrazo desde Miami FL ❤️🇩🇴❤️
I live in Portland and my mom was born and raised in Tillamook. If you want another unique experience. Go to Tillamook county Fair for the pig and Ford races during fair time.
I was wandering about where the Hangar A was. Then i noticed on the map that there was een hangar a road so it was obvious where that hangar used to be. Thanks for the tour. We have a ‘hangar’ too in NL Rotterdam only it is a markthal. It is not realy a hangar, it is more. In length a little smaller. Google De Markthal Rotterdam and hit pictures.
Ah, such memories. It is not the largest building in the world, it is probably the largest building in Oregon. I've made a number of trips there and it is always awe-inspiring to view. One word of criticism, some of the view were difficult to watch because you were sweeping too fast from one area to the next. I suspect that in some cases you had speeding up the replay in order to save time and I understand that. But the tiny miniature sets were just a blur.
Good morning 🌅, what amazing views of the coast, what amazing structure ashamed that is going to decay, hopefully they can raise funds to restore it, I’m available if required, 😂, . The museum looked amazing , I’m from the UK , and there is a hanger over there nowhere as big as what you have just been in but they have air balloons that sometimes are shown out in the region , The shop looked a bit cheesy., wouldn’t mind having a look round there, i’m sorry but I cannot contain 😂 myself to mention about your property. You are doing a splendid job., I wish you both all the success for the future , 💔 living in France,
Dairy enterprises provide a pound-for-pound, dollar-for-dollar nutritional bonanza. Please note that the Tillamook Smokehouse is located a few miles away from the flagship venue. Just as local produce is enhanced by the by-products, modern consumers prefer to avoid the realities food production.
What a awesome place. All the planes and the history of the hanger , There is a Aviation museum on Vancouver Island Near Victoria BC that is worth a visit .
Great video. We have been to Tillamook a few times to visit the air museum and the cheese factory but had to eat all that we buy as we cant take it home. Just wish we could buy the cheese back here in the UK. We love the Oregon coast and cant wait to go back there.
Hey, i can watch the video in portuguese now. But i prefer listen in the original sound and practice my "listening". But i loved it. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
We have been to that museum. It certainly is incredible Not sure its the worlds largest building however. Maybe the largest open space inside a building I remember that it sometimes has its own weather inside
If you ever make it to Ohio you need to check out the Airforce museum in Dayton you'll love it has alot of planes take most of the day to go through and it's Free .
I've been in that hanger and the one at Lakehurst, NY. The one in Lakehurst is still a Navy base. Are you guys going to visit the McMinnville, OR? Take care guys... Happy Holidays & God Bless. 😄
Sucks you’re being trolled. Like driving our Mustang convertible to the coast. Local Mustang group goes to the museum every year. Haven’t been on that one yet but did go to the creamery. Fun time. PDX here.
A little mistake. It is not the biggest. In Germany is the Cargolifter airship hall. It is 351 ft high, 689 ft wide and 351 ft high. There is now a amusement park (Tropical Island Germany) in.
You have Russian misinformation. The Boeing Everett Factory in Washington, United States, is the largest building in the world when measured by volume and usable space.
Never knew this existed there. I have been through Hangar 1, 2 and 3 at Moffett Field in CA. I think before the restoration Hangar 1 was the largest freestanding volume building. Not sure how it's restoration has affected things now though as I think the inner volume was going to be reconfigured now that airships are no longer a thing really (not sure if the Goodyear blimp still comes around).
Hi.
At 65 I get in trouble every time I look at your guys adventures,my girl knows I'm starring at your butt, today she finally sat with me and agreed you do have a nice butt.
Wer hat das so falsch übersetzt z.B. wurde gesagt das Gebäude ist 690m hoch !? Im leben nicht zum Glück stand da was von 192 Ft das dürften rund 59 m Höhe sein , war bestimmt die dumme KI
it’s wild how no one talks about Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki even though it completely shifts how you see things, but I guess not everyone is ready

Hangar.
Unfortunately, Hangar One has been dismantled.
Interesting to learn that Google has signed 99 year lease on the Moffett hangers.
hangArs@@douglassauvageau7262
Oops, my bad it’s the other two nearby hangars that have been torn down
Actually the largest building in the world is just north of this, the Boeing assembly plant in Everett WA.
LP use to have a sawmill inside one of the hangers back in the 70's. Yes, there used to be 2 hangers but one burned down due to a hay fire. I have turned my chip truck around inside the hanger and didn't have to back up to do it, .

Oh, The Tillamook Blimp hanger .
There was one of these big blimp hangers in the old Tustin marine base. It was an historical building. The Irvine company had it burned down to make room for a housing development.

Dad told me they would play Baseball in one of the blimp hangars late 40s early 50s.
I love that thumbnail shot 😋
West coast scenery is some of the most beautiful in the world. You’re very Blessed .
There were 2 also built in Tustin California. Yes was huge a Goodyear blimp wasn't even half as tall as the hangaf.
Adjacent to the museum is the headquarters of Near Space Corporation (NSC). Concepts which capitalize on the potential of lighter-than-air platforms have been explored there for decades. Some of those concepts have been profitably operationalized.
i remember reading that the roofing contracts were bid by the acre
One of my best friends is from Tillamook!
That fridge is perfect for festivals!
There's also still one in New Jersey, slightly larger but not all wood, where the Hindenburg burned while landing in 1937.
Lakehurst, NJ, Mountain View, CA, and Akron, OH are home to 21st Century laboratories which continue to research Lighter-Than-Air concepts.
the bum shots are insane ....wee wee misuer' lol
It only about an hour drive from there to the Evergreen Museum where you can see the Spruce Goose! Well worth checking it out!
The Tillamook hangers and the Spruce Goose demonstrated the utility of wood construction. Is there a Mosquito at Evergreen?

What an awesome building! Thank you for sharing your experience 😊
We went to Lincoln City this summer, and on the way back home, drove by the Air Museum. A massive complex...
WoW! I wanted to stop and visit when I visited you guys!!! So cool you share it with us 😋 incredible structure! Wow!!
Thanks for sharing this cool adventure!
That was cool! THANKS!
2nd generation born and raised Newport, OR. I have been to that museum a number of times.

Great video! I’ve spent summers in Rockaway for the last 60 years. Both the blimp hangers and the creamery were a part of my youth:)
Those pants 😍
Danke für den schönen Ausflug.
I so look forward to your videos. You guys make great content. Keep up the great work and good luck on that build

Guys enjoy your life, because in no time at all you’ll be 55. Trust me.
You don't even have to get old an autoimmune disease could get you. Enjoy life when you can!

I always believed the largest wooden hanger to be at Lakehurst NAS, NJ
👍👍👍
Did you get a picture in the Tillamook VW van 😂
I think is the largest wooden building in the world!
Yep, it is the largest wooden building....not even close to the worlds largest building.
It's not the largest building in the world. That would be the Boeing Everett Factory based on volume.
It's the largest clear-span wooden structure
@@brianlovie5185 ok, but the title does not say that.
imagine trusting this kind of content but never exploring books like Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, no wonder people stay in the same cycles

It's called the black box in spite of the color... red yellow Orange... when you say black box they know what you're talking about.

most people stay stuck because they avoid books like Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, which actually show you how to break through
crazy how much people rely on surface-level ideas when Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki exists, but I guess not everyone is ready for deeper truths
Neat - but not the largest building in the world. Your title is lacking.
I think so 2. Berlin zeppelin hanger, now a great swimmingpool is largest building………
why are you running
if this resonates with you, you owe it to yourself to read Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, but maybe it’s not for everyone
it’s wild how no one talks about Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki even though it completely shifts how you see things, but I guess not everyone is ready

can’t believe this is what people focus on instead of reading something like Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, maybe that’s why so little ever changes
not saying this isn’t interesting, but books like Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki make this look like child’s play
👍👍👍
