I ve tried baking a few times in this quarantine but everytime was a fail and then I saw his vid where he tells the basic things about baking and I realised I was making so many mistakes. Today I finally tried baking again and I made the vanilla cake but I replaced all purpose flour with whole wheat flour cos I wanted to have it a lil on the healthier side and I can’t believe how soft and fluffy the cake turned out. Also I didn’t use oven so I made it in a nonstick pan and yes it was like the softest cake ever. (I didn’t have the vanilla pod so I skipped it and used just the vanilla essence) I m so happy to know that I can bake good after so many failed attempts
Hi Shivesh tried this recipe...but used 1/2 cup wheat flour and 1/2cup jowar flour instead of sugar used organic jaggery and a bit of salt n followed your instructions result was healthy awesome n mesmerizing cake thank you so much for soft moist and fluffy cake

It is very true that we can make many things if we have this base right. I tried many recipes with wheat flour, the cake was tasty but never binding perfectly. I have decided to start with maida first and found this recipe. This is a perfect recipe. Texture was so perfect. I tried chocolate cake, coffee cake and all turned out really well. Except the fact that I am excited about baking but I am not a fan of any of the ingredients maida, sugar, oil. Now I want to replace the ingredients one by one. Thanks for the recipe. Finally, If you have any such recipes, please mention them. I will be more than happy.
It is the best video for baking on youtube channel ...You know why because no one tells you that we need to mix ingredient seprately and mix them all together and bake it..It helped me to make my cake fluffy,soft an light even in microwave without using sugar syrup to soften it.Amazing ...you are amazing...I got a lot of confidence after watching your videos..You made me realize that baking is not something only about measurements and to follow the recipe as it is...it is also about your own prefrences and taste and you can add something more or less depending on your taste and it just made me feel like super easy to bake ..Thanks a ton
@@akshatatn4463 yes offcourse i used homemade curd..yes if possible take the thick part of curd ...remove excess water from it...adjust the quantity of sugar based on sweetness or sourness of your curd but dont add too much sugar just a spoon full of sugar can make difference..just be confident

Tried this today and it came out amazingly well !!! So simple to bake thanks so much Shivesh for making it easy for us ! Also just for reference of any others I baked it in a microwave on the microwave +convection mode- 140 degrees preheat for 3 mins and then put the cake in the same mode for 5-6 minutes at 140 degrees.
I baked this and it came out really soft and yummy!! I found that the quantity of batter was less so it did not fill an 8 inch round cake tin well and therefore was slightly flat. My egg allergic child was super happy with this tasty cake though! This is a keeper. Thanks so much Shivesh 😍
Hi Shivesh, thanks for this eggless recipe. I tried this recipe with the same quantity of ingredients. The cake came out really spongy. But there is a slight soapy taste in the cake. Can you let us know the probable reason? Moreover, in your recipe you say 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, but the text in the video says 1 teaspoon. What should be the actual quantity?
I tried your recipe today. The taste was amazing. It took 60 min at 180 degree on convection mode to bake it properly. After 40 min, I checked and it was not baked completely from the middle. The sides and top baked fine with a good brown colour. I didn't use the vanilla extract, but essence and it turned out pretty great.

I have like many others tried different recipes to get a nice spongy cake. However it never turned out well. This recipe has been wonderful. It was loved by all in my family. Henceforth this is going to be my recipe for the sponge with alteration for different flavours. The curd and baking soda mix has probably done the wonder.
Yeah really! I thought he'll add the orange juice to the cake . If not, he should just hold a cup of coffee (for aesthetics). Atleast take a sip of the juice so we know its for 'personal consumption' :))

@@abhinaya1990 make sure that you use a good quality flour and mix the flour well in your batter or untill you don't see any chunks of flour and do not forget to add vanilla extract to your cake because it dosen't have any other flavouring. If you don't add vanilla extract to your VANILLA CAKE, then it is surely going to taste like raw flour!

Hi Nupur! Since we're already using yogurt in this recipe which contains fat, we need to use only vegetable oil to get the desired consistency of the batter and good texture of the cake!

I tried this in Air fryer … it turned out to be little black from head as i was not aware of that it temperature setting should be low as compared to oven but to my experience it was delicious and fluffy It was little crispy as well from top. But amazing 🤩👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Shivesh.. I find myself too lucky to come across ur vlog..i was very keen of learning to bake cake but everytime i did it was disaster but the time i started to follow ur recipes, all cakes came out perfect , hats off to u☺
This turned out really good. However, I have a couple of notes with this recipe- for my taste, this was too sweet (consider adding less if you’re like me) and my batter turned out to be doughy. If you’re a beginner baker (like me), this might worry you (and I was very close to ditching my batter) but, fret not, add a little milk to bring it to the right consistency (thanks mom). Everything else, please follow to the T. Also, one thing I did that Shivesh does not mention here (but does in his beginner baking post where I got this from) is I sifted every dry ingredient (maida, baking powder, etc) beforehand. I think this really made a difference!

Hi Shivesh, thanks for this eggless recipe. I tried this recipe with the same quantity of ingredients. The cake came out really spongy. But there is a slight soapy taste in the cake. Can you let us know the probable reason?
Moreover, in your recipe you say 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, but the text in the video says 1 teaspoon. What should be the actual quantity?
I tried your recipe today. The taste was amazing. It took 60 min at 180 degree on convection mode to bake it properly. After 40 min, I checked and it was not baked completely from the middle. The sides and top baked fine with a good brown colour. I didn't use the vanilla extract, but essence and it turned out pretty great.

I have like many others tried different recipes to get a nice spongy cake. However it never turned out well. This recipe has been wonderful. It was loved by all in my family. Henceforth this is going to be my recipe for the sponge with alteration for different flavours. The curd and baking soda mix has probably done the wonder.

Yeah really! I thought he'll add the orange juice to the cake . If not, he should just hold a cup of coffee (for aesthetics). Atleast take a sip of the juice so we know its for 'personal consumption' :))

@@abhinaya1990 make sure that you use a good quality flour and mix the flour well in your batter or untill you don't see any chunks of flour and do not forget to add vanilla extract to your cake because it dosen't have any other flavouring. If you don't add vanilla extract to your VANILLA CAKE, then it is surely going to taste like raw flour!

Softened. Mix it with sugar until light and fluffy. It'll give more aeration to your cake.

I tried this recipe out ,the cake had perfect fluff to it but it came out like the color of the mixture pale to white instead of the beautiful golden brown color you had. I made it in microwave, can anyone please help me out where I went wrong?
It depends on oven actually, many ovens don't give that brown crusting, u can try to turn to grill for few minutes to get the browning

I tried this in Air fryer … it turned out to be little black from head as i was not aware of that it temperature setting should be low as compared to oven but to my experience it was delicious and fluffy

Hi Shivesh.. I find myself too lucky to come across ur vlog..i was very keen of learning to bake cake but everytime i did it was disaster but the time i started to follow ur recipes, all cakes came out perfect , hats off to u☺
This turned out really good. However, I have a couple of notes with this recipe- for my taste, this was too sweet (consider adding less if you’re like me) and my batter turned out to be doughy. If you’re a beginner baker (like me), this might worry you (and I was very close to ditching my batter) but, fret not, add a little milk to bring it to the right consistency (thanks mom). Everything else, please follow to the T. Also, one thing I did that Shivesh does not mention here (but does in his beginner baking post where I got this from) is I sifted every dry ingredient (maida, baking powder, etc) beforehand. I think this really made a difference!

I tried this recipe today it was the yummiest n most spongiest( if that makes sense🤪) cake i have ever had...thank u soo much only one thing i wanted to ask u that after baking it i felt it's colour was not that dark brown like u showed in this video.. it was all white was it because of vanilla essence as i used a basic one??
