Derek Trucks saves lives.
The slow crescendo of intensity. The whisper of the slide guitar throughout. The horns layered in midway. I didn't realize when I first heard this song that Derek Trucks was the author of the phenomenal slide. Then, when going through each live performance and recognizing the difference with his absence, it dawned on me... JJ went off the board for the production version of the song to a true specialist. Man the final solo grabs a person's heart.
I was in a place so dark that not even music could penetrate it, then this song came through and saved me. I followed it all the way back to the light. It will always be something of immeasurable value to me.

The radio edit of this song that I've been hearing on my local station omits Trucks' entire solo to keep it down to 4 minutes. Seems downright criminal to me. Surely the next song in rotation can wait until the GOAT has spoken.
I just can't get enough of this song ...I start my mornings off jammin with this song it's very powerful and healing for me ... Thanks for sharing

Been a fan since day 1 but I'm not gonna lie...not digging the new album too much. Seems they steered away from that funk that sucked me in. I hope this album turns out to be like the rest....the more you listen the more you fall in love. Just not happening for me so far though.
