The greatest white soul and blues singer EVER. The man can make you feel something that seldom other people can get you to feel just by a song. He's one of my favs. If you ever get a chance to see him life, you must!
I went to Jacksonville and Gainesville for the first time last week, and made a point to drive to Lochloosa. I found a dirt road off of Hwy 301 on the south side of the lake, which took me to a scene that perfectly resembled this song. I pulled this video up while I sat on the bank, and listened and enjoyed. The wildlife was amazing and a bald eagle even flew over. Thank you JJ!
I am lucky enough to know JJ personally. We grew up on the dirt roads of a small community west of Jacksonville called Maxville. it is an honor as a USMC Vet to call him a dear friend. And I have always supported him. Long live the summer days of fishing on Lake 'Loosie
Holy mother of all that is holy.... this is life changing music. I am hopeful now that real music isn't dead. My Lochloosa is a little creek in Northern AZ where I take my kids and everything becomes right with the world, cares melt away, my soul becomes cleansed and it's the only place where life makes sense. Thank you, thank you so much for this
You can FEEL that everything about this performance is deeply personal to JJ and he makes us feel it too. This is what the greatest performers do that others only dream of.
This is the only song I've seen that can be played and will stop a whole construction site full of guys to sit by and have they're ears glued to the speakers. Long live JJ Grey and Mofro
Ocala fl where I call home and Crystal River for 30 plus years. And Ocala made news again. It use to be a sleepy little town where there were cows everywhere and Mustangs ran free. Now 😢, it's hard to find a native Floridan anymore.
This always brings a couple tears to my eyes because my Lochloosa is going away. It's also the passion and energy that JJ and the band have. Thank you to JJ and boys for keeping me in touch with my inner soul
I've loved this song from the instant I heard the first couple of notes..... it's a tearjerker for sure and I'm not from Florida.... It's the feeling put into singing it that does it for t

If you want an emotive experience that you can trust is not altered nor enhanced by any techno-assist then JJ is your man. I love his natural ability to bring a song to life. This song is about as close to soul expression than one can get. A true artist!
Well put. I’m in tears every time I listen to this song. I don’t know if its tears of joy or pain, but they run like Mississippi. I can’t believe a song can stop the world around you. This man is one of a kind. How did I not hear this song before this year?
i was sitting around a table with some friends at a place in Lake Worth, FLA. The evening jam session after group all day. Rehab. A friend put this on, no one was really paying attention, we were just chillin, and the guitar solo came up and I said "who the fuck is this?" "JJ Grey and Mfro," she replied. Been listening to it ever since, rehab didn't stick, but Lochloosa still jams almost on the daily.
This song right here saved me! I was in a dark place for two years, after loosing my grandma! I never have heard of JJ before! But i clicked on this video, and my life changed! So thank you!!! JJ Gray!!!

Just drove a load thru Lochloosa on 301 today. Can’t say I saw much of the place from the rig, but just seeing that familiar town name brought a smile to my face.

Yup. The real deal. Every time I see em live my mind is reblown, UA-cam can’t do them justice. Thanks for everything JJ! Every country, State, and county has a Lochloosa. Find it go there put some headphones on blaze a fatty and get back to reality.

my brother in law introduced me to this band, and gotta say the vibes of their music just grooved on a soulful level, it's one of those times your just really glad you were at a good place and a good time to hear some really beautiful music.
My Lochloosa is Powell River, British Columbia ... winter snows would come and drop a foot overnight and silence the farmland so you could hear a pin drop. Since I was a kid the Deer, Elk, Bear, Wolves and Mountain Lions have all returned. Summer nights at the beach watching the sun set over Vancouver Island. God I miss back home. Thanks for this.
What a TRUE MUSICIAN.....Theres the meaning and definition of a TRUE MUSICIAN.....WOW!!!! Ive listened to this song 1000 times and it only gets better every time I listen to it......J.J you are very very talented.....Much respect to you....May you be blessed with a wonderful and great career.....You surely do deserve it........Keep making the Great Music.......
I transplanted to Florida 3 years ago and this guy makes me feel like I grew up here. That harp in the beginning and his emotion just reverberates through your soul.
I had not I'm not as talented as anybody else my hands are too broken and all to play musical instruments but I love the message and I just sent it to my soon-to-be son-in-law
And than as if he cant get any better in a song he picks up that guitar and blows me out the friggen door.look at the passion when playing, that's real.
This song is absolutely timeless! I have loved it since the first time I ever heard it, I grew up in South Florida and I completely relate to every word! But it is amazing to see how it brings everyone together the blues, soul, rock and roll, jazz bands, just everything it really is a thing of beauty! Another thing about this recording this video is JJ Gray did not miss a single beat a single fret nothing it was literally perfect! 🙏
Just saw this band about a month ago . . . had no idea who they were, or what to expect . . . The opening band (Dragondeer, I believe they were called) were so damned good, i thought JJ Grey had made a mistake . . . getting such a kick-ass band to open for them . . . I was wrong! MAN this band blew me away! I don't know how to describe it . . . but I can say that I have never felt better heading home from a show, than I felt that night! Seeing them again on January 23rd at the Anaheim HOB . . . can't hardly wait!
Years back I went to a show with 4 bands playing...the main draw for me was to see Galactic, but BB King and Jeff Beck were also on the bill, along with some band with a weird name called Mofro (Grey put his name out front some time late after his grandma asked if he was ashamed to use name.) who I had never of, opened the show. Holy shit were we glad we got there early enough to catch what we did of their set... when they left the stage it was still almost broad daylight, and the place didn't seem to be even 1/4 or maybe 1/3 of the way full yet at most. To say that the people not there yet missed out, is an epic understatement, never saw an opening band command attention and respect the way they did. With that in mind, I'm gonna make a note to have a look into Dragondeer.
I don’t always listen to jj grey, but when I do, so do my neighbors!!

Homesick but it's alright
Lochloosa is on my mind
She's on my mind
I swear it's ten thousand degrees in the shade
Lord have mercy knows - how much I love it
Every mosquito every rattlesnake
Every cane break - everything
Every alligator every black water swamp
Every freshwater spring - everything
All we need is one more damn developer
Tearing her heart out
All we need is one more Mickey Mouse
Another golf course another country club
Another gated community
Lord I need her
Lord I need her
And she's slipping away
If my grandfather could see her now
He'd lay down and die
Cause every minute every second every hour
Every day - Lord she's slipping away
Homesick but it's alright
Lochloosa is on my mind
She's on my mind..

my brother in law introduced me to this band, and gotta say the vibes of their music just grooved on a soulful level, it's one of those times your just really glad you were at a good place and a good time to hear some really beautiful music.
I never get tired of this❤❤
Man I just learned about this dude about. 1 yr ago.i could grab m a beverage of choice. .sit back & sing with this kind of music
He is so talented. I had the honor of seeing him a few months ago in Ashville. Phenomenal live show. Love the horns and harp.
Saw him for the first time last year in Las Vegas, I want more! Fantastic live performance, still same drive and heart!
The greatest artist that no one has ever heard of.

This song means so much to me. Lochloosa isn’t just a lake, to me it’s a state of mind. So happy I have found my Lochloosa
This man is a legend beyond measures! Can never go wrong with some Jj
What a masterpiece! I can not get enough! Bravo, Encore and, "Aye!"
Gosh damn. What a great song and this has to be the best version available. Holy shit.
As an Aussie - I gotta say I just love Southern America. And this song and band just makes me yearn to go back there. God bless you guys.
The South has deep soul and history
I love JJ's voice !! His music is so relaxing and real!! Thank you Mark Gamage for turning me on to his music!! Best thing you ever did!!
A song that brings you back to what's real, what's important. A little water, lots of sky and peace in your heart
Who are the lossers that thumbs down on this amazing vocalist and his band
A Jumpy Jones I wondered the same thing.
I transplanted to Florida 3 years ago and this guy makes me feel like I grew up here. That harp in the beginning and his emotion just reverberates through your soul.
Has anyone noticed the drum set J.J.Grey's drummer is playing? Floor base, snare, and two cymbals? Talent...
Aqqqqaaww
I do now
I had not I'm not as talented as anybody else my hands are too broken and all to play musical instruments but I love the message and I just sent it to my soon-to-be son-in-law
That is known as a rockabilly kit. That's what some musicians call it anyway .. The bass drum looks like an old slingerland.
If you didn’t know Jj grey plays all the instruments writes every song and produces all the studio albums him self
This is the Best God Dam blues song, I’ve heard in 25 yrs.
GOD DAM I LOVE THIS SONG.
I grew up in Polk County Florida and now live in Mount Dora. A friend telling me about this band has been a true joy. Pure talent.
