Hi there! I am Joseph.
I have been an immigrant / expat living in central Portugal along with my beautiful girlfriend Mariana for eight years now.
Together Mariana and I, would like to show you a bit of the daily goings on around our Portuguese farm / homestead / smallholding and all of the work we are doing whilst renovating, starting building projects, working with our livestock, DIY and trying to grow our little families own food!
See our journey to self-sufficiency / permaculture / organic farming living in Portugal, trying to produce as much of our own food planting vegetables, growing fruit trees as well as looking after all our animals, such as our chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, quail, rabbits and sheep - Shortly pigs too!

I am ever struck by the sheer amount of work it took to terrace places like this! Incredible. If it wasn't for being right next to the church I'd be very interested in buying this. A house in a reasonable state for a reasonable and realistic price (the number of places for sale in Portugal for UK level prices when the quality of the buildings is so poor is beyond a joke).

@@londonbabe2467 :grins: I grew up under the bells of St. Giles and whilst they are beautiful when rung for the right occasions having them as the soundtrack of your day does wear you down :)
On the other hand, in these times when the heathen tide is rising high in countries like mine then I agree that being adjacent to a church is not a terrible thing.

@@londonbabe2467 Sadly not. I am trapped in England, which will shortly be an Islamic state if things continue as they are. So I am seeking a quiet place, far from most folk, to live out the rest of my days hidden away from the turmoil to come.
@@dallassukerkin6878 I feel exactly the same. The UK and particularly England 🏴 and Ireland 🇮🇪 have been invaded by the third world and it gets worse every year. I want to get well away from here too. Might need to win the lottery
I’m coming to Portugal tomorrow! I’m so thrilled! I love this property, it’s perfect! And the price is amazingly affordable. I will let you know when I can get to Central Portugal as I’ll be in the Azores for a month, so I’ll have to figure out the plane or ferry schedule. I won’t have my car.

I did miss Andre though, his local knowledge of the land and the people always give us a much better idea of each property, and what living there would be like.

lovely property. Are there any amenities in the village or is it only the chapel and residences?
There are shops, a cafe (in every village i guess), a grocery, a garage, a shop that sells electrical equipment for your house.
And a place where they sell building material. Probably more. Another village is close by. With cafe's, barbershop i believe. (and a river beach/swimmingpool nearby).
Is the neighbouring house loved in? Or abandoned?

Great property. Can a basic pressure washer clean the black stains above the front door and the green stains lower down on the steps? (If so--think what one hour's work could do.)
The property Is very nice. The house isn't too bad but a few upgrades would make it very comfy. Not sure about the large eat in bathroom. LOL.

oh boy did u see the horns just on the back of the other house...or church...can u imagine having a relaxing time and that thing going on...or the church bells calling at 7 am...lolol
Hi, I mentioned in the video they don’t sound through the majority of the day and they are quiet, you can hear them in the introduction when I film the church from the front (within first minute of the video), I think they start at 9 and finish at 5 working days
