David Lucas was born in Macon, GA. He started acting an early age, performing in numerous stage plays at the Macon Little Theatre. He relocated to Hollywood where he was a contestant on, “MTV Yo Momma”. He has since written for several television shows and continues to perform stand up all over the country (for such comedians as Louis CK, Erik Griffin, Joe Rogan, Brendan Schaub, Tony Hinchcliffe, Bert Kreisher, DL Hughley and many more) He is a regular on Kill Tony. bro rogan has been giving back for the past 20 years, just nobody talks about it. He constantly gives money to his friends and buys them all shit all the time. And now that he has all this spotify money he is just pumping it all into the comedy scene, he's a good dude.
@Zachary Hayes Yeah, but honestly if you look back on his early appearances on JRE, I think maybe that was more about Joe trying to convince a friend to switch careers before he started to succumb to CTE stuff, and less that Joe really believed Shaub was truly cut out for comedy

Yea exactly. Any Joe Rogan haters at this point are just dense. Joe is such a gift to the comedy community. Joe just wants to grow comedy and give back. It’s so cool to watch all of these comics compliment what shoes built in Austin
Honestly, just seeing David and Ron sitting and fishing together discussing the ins and outs of their shared one true love is magical. It’s rare that a real life changing of the guard is caught on film, and even more rare to see the changing of the guard in any capacity be so fruitful, civil, and understanding. It makes me happy to know not all of the old school greats let it go to their heads.

@@Ottophil Shane actually did make onto SNL but the woke powers that be, fired him based on prior jokes he had made before.
The jokes were how Asian accents replace words with "L' in it with "R", and a joke about a pyramid of funny, with white chicks at the bottom just below gay dudes. That was apparently too harsh for the SNL audience to handle and after many tears were shed he was fired.

“Joe is the new Mitzy” is so true. Him and Tony have done so much for comedy, and they don’t even care about being recognized for it. Anyone who does so much for hard workers, without asking for credit, they’re truly saints. In the literal sense of the word, they are saints.

It’s so surreal being born and raised here in Austin to see how much it’s grown in popularity.
Growing up, I remember how cool it was to hear a TV show, movie, or a celebrity mention Austin. Now it’s became so normal.
The only thing us Austinites ask is to please keep it the way it always has been. Which is weird and opportunistic. There is a reason you moved here, because it’s better than a lot of other places in our country. Please don’t ruin it. ❤

I loving this premise. This spot here; my gohd, is my favorite. Couple of lawn chairs, under some shade, the whole vibe of relax. You two, just unspooling the love for the Mothership "the Comedy Mecca". Getting the scoop on the Historic Texas comedy scene from THE guy that lived it and is happy to tell the tales. You could do a hundred episodes with Ron, and Roseanne never running out of material. 🤗🤗😊
This approach had been taken in the old series “Fishing with John”, where actor/musician/artist John Lurie took cats out on a boat in like ‘91 or so. I want more. The best!

This is a tremendous show. Love the format, love the guests, love the nature sounds in the background. A real world version of Good Will Hunting.. jk. One thing I would say, made a difference for my microphone use outside - throw a deadcat, or windmuff on the lavs, just helps dampen some of the breeze on the mics. Sounds good, but I think that $10 investment would really help!

Dave Chappelle and Louis CK are 2 of the best. I’ve seen them both live and all their specials. But I saw Dave Attell live , he kept me laughing the entire time with no exaggeration.

Let’s not forget that comedy is a business and you need variety in your club. Appeal to all people and all senses of humor, styles and not all cultures laugh at the same style of comedy. Everyone has made someone laugh at one time or another. You can’t make everyone happy but you can have a variety of people and make it entertaining and fun with the chance of being someplace at the right time and a super funny and famous comedian walk in and give you a time to remember. Even if you don’t get a comedians sense of humor doesn’t mean they have nothing to offer anyone else. There’s levels to comedy. Best part is getting to have a place to laugh and hang with other people who know how to laugh at life.
