Was on Oxy's for 9yrs,.. took a heroic dose of shrooms,. and the universe told me to get my life together, or i would be in a dark despair that i felt to my soul. I went cold turkey on the pills, got dopesick for 4days using vodka as a crutch. Then i quit drinking,. then I quit sugar, processed foods, and now eat only protein, fruits and low carbs. I meditate, float, workout with kettlebells and do yoga and breathing exercises. I still take psychedelics and use weed products,... but my life is 100x better than it was,.. The problem is that opiates and mushrooms are an extremely fun combination, so for some like myself this might not work especially if you add nitrous and weed because why not. In these cases Salvia (chewed NOT SMOKED) is actually incredibly useful and I've been clean off opiates for 2 years because of it.
This is an example of why Joe has got to the top of the mountain,he lets guests speak and time to time guides them along with subtle questions or references,very enjoyable episode

I did Aya 2019....I had the two serpents wrap around my body until their heads were level with mine, then beautiful flowers poured out of their heads and all of a sudden i shot up into the universe surrounded by infinite stars where i was one with all and all with one...I was filled up with love and was laughing/crying with joy. I saw Thoth, ancient gods, cats, flowers, the matrix grid, light, myy dna codes and symbols...until the 3rd cup, i left my bod thought i was dead and had a panic attack but even that was teaching me . I went to work 2 days later(hadn't told anyone) like flys to a light bulb everyone was drawn to me telling me how good I look, asking me if I had boxot! I felt my self glowing , i was so light I didn;'t touch the ground, i had more energy and was over weight at the time and slowly naturally lost weight as I wasn't over eating. So much healing took place...
Rogan is such a great interviewer, just for the fact that he never interrupts his guests and lets THEM tell their stories. A very underrated but important trait to have. Need more people like Joseph Rogan in the world!

He’s a great guy and a great comic. Too bad he plans to retire. I met him just after my leukemia went into remission the first time and I was backstage at the comedy store and was introduced to him and he was told about my cancer and that it had gone into remission and he just came up and gave me a huge hug. Great story and well told. I have drank Ayahuasca on two occassions. The first time as a recovering alcoholic and that entity I purged then shook for four hours feeling turned inside out. By morning I felt the greatest peace ever in my life.

Ayahuasca is definitely life changing, I did it in Peru 3 years ago, my mental and physical health was suffering and just one time drinking it completely changed my perspective it’s kinda like being reborn again and not recognising who you were before.

@G B its weird how that can change you. i wonder if its something about having something to associate the trauma to other than the actual traumatic experience. you go have this intense trip. that is completely overwhelming. then when your mind goes back to that trauma it leads you back to the experience of the trip instead. its really interesting. i def feel ive had moment of clarity in a completely whacked out state. moments where i feel like everything is connected. its super strange. i guess i will never understand it

I feel the same way too. I put too much on my plate and it definitely affects my stress and anxiety level.. I am also glad to be a part of this community.
The Trips I've been having have really helped me a lot,I finally feel in control of my emotions and my future and things that used to be mundane to me now seem incredible and full of nuance on top of that I'm way less driven by my ego and I have alot more empathy as well
that was easily one of the best joe rogan clips ive ever watched in my life. ive been in a similar situation (just at rehab no iowaska) but the people i met there and the conversations we had felt like i was meant to be there like he said. It felt like a big sigh of relief after one of the longest and darkest periods of my life. I'm sure coming off hard drugs had a lot to do with it, but being around people who are focused on your needs and don't judge you is so helpful in every way. i wish we had more access to places like these without having to get to such a bad place to begin with. i wish more places were like that in general. Just beautiful spoken by this man i heard joe say this conversation was great but i had little to no knowledge of who ron white was and im very glad i got here from the theo von iowaska clip im definitely going to listen to this episode now. the way he described it brought me right back to smoking cigs late at night out by the fire all going through a similar journey that we could to relate to eachother with while being on completely different ends of every walk of life. it was beautiful and really helpful to teleport back there for a moment the day after my childhood pet passed away and that blackness is having another go at me as we speak. very much appreciated i think i will return to this video periodically and if you read this whole comment i appreciate you thank you for being interested enough to read what i have to say. you can do hard things. we all can. together.

stay strong, I was clean for 3 years then relapsed. I doubt I will again but there is no denying that drugs feel good and get their hooks into you. You have to try to only remember the bad, and forget any good feelings they gave you. in perspective over time, the bad always outweighs the good.
Happy to hear Ron stopped drinking I'm sure the family he has wants him to live a complete life. I stopped drugs almost 13 years ago and am grateful everyday. I'm on board for any treatment that can help someone.
I've been on and off drinking, recently taking another break because every time I stop it's because I've drank myself into an atrocious darkness. I'm grateful that I've been able to succeed on my own, but I think a big part of my success has been that I took relatively small amounts of LSD for a week straight, and the consistant buzzed feeling helped with the withdrawls and cravings for alcohol. I've got some undiagnosed and untreated mental health issues, too, and psychadelics have really helped taking the cutting edge off of them. I probably still need standard treatments but it's nice to be able to sort of cope on my own.
So glad for you both. We all have things we self-medicate, but accepting ourselves as flawed human beings, and working with the good bits is a huge step Keep on, both of you. Be around people who love and celebrate you in all your flawed glory. God bless you and keep you. 💕

Joe is the best listener I've ever seen. Most people would try to pipe in their own thoughts or questions but Joe just keeps listening. It's hard to do with people who talk slow. We listen, at least, 2X faster than people talk. Our minds then wander and we quit listening. Joe seems to have found a way to just listen.
I ate capansias and mescaline for 11 months in a cave at 11390 feet up pikes peak in Colorado springs to get over my PTSD and literally lived as a cave shaman with a sparce supplies and bow and a Bowie knife and my training it was the game changer for getting my head heart and life back...
I did the same thing in the maroon bells wilderness. Conundrum hot springs behind aspen. You should go there someday if your in Colorado and nearby. That whole hike to and back from the springs is the closest thing to a church I’ve ever ever experienced.

Not gonna front: I like Joe, even if at times he is, as he himself will point out, an idiot. But Joe willl interrupt the _fuck_ out of a guest. What makes Joe a good interviewer is that he has an instinct for letting the guest be interesting.
One of the things I like most about Joe's podcasts is his ability to let the guests talk and be the focus. He's also a great audience for other comedians.
I have an old friend who is a shaman...he practiced in Peru, his name is gringo shaman ron. He lived in Arkansas before he moved to Peru for his practice. I done it about 5 times in the foothills of Arkansas, I'll never forget it! Such a strong experience!!
Good for you Ron. Alcoholism and or addiction are extremely hard to overcome. Although there is no cure quality of life improves more and more as time passes. I know I've been clean myself since April of 2013.

Smoking hurts your voice over time, but most people don't realize that alcohol does too. Drinking Liquor (undiluted) and vomiting are especially hard on your vocal cords.
So stoked for Mr. White. Last I heard from him (specifically on Rogan) he was finished with stand up. Presumably at a time while drinking heavily. Glad to hear he's on the come up and that he'll do more comedy. Hopefully he'll put out another special!
Joe at the end asked "when are you going again" kind of like he wanted to join him there. I can't imagine Ron being a non-drinker, but I'm glad he was able to pull it off, and wish him good luck with it going forward.

I met him just after my leukemia went into remission the first time and I was backstage at the comedy store and was introduced to him and he was told about my cancer and that it had gone into remission and he just came up and gave me a huge hug. Wonderful empathy and kindness. Thank you Ron 🙏 ✌️❤️

Great story and well told. I have drank Ayahuasca on two occassions. The first time as a recovering alcoholic and that entity I purged then shook for four hours feeling turned inside out. By morning I felt the greatest peace ever in my life.
I need help, I wish I could do this. I am tired.

Ayahuasca is definitely life changing, I did it in Peru 3 years ago, my mental and physical health was suffering and just one time drinking it completely changed my perspective it’s kinda like being reborn again and not recognising who you were before.

@G B its weird how that can change you. i wonder if its something about having something to associate the trauma to other than the actual traumatic experience. you go have this intense trip. that is completely overwhelming. then when your mind goes back to that trauma it leads you back to the experience of the trip instead. its really interesting. i def feel ive had moment of clarity in a completely whacked out state. moments where i feel like everything is connected. its super strange. i guess i will never understand it

I feel the same way too. I put too much on my plate and it definitely affects my stress and anxiety level.. I am also glad to be a part of this community.
The Trips I've been having have really helped me a lot,I finally feel in control of my emotions and my future and things that used to be mundane to me now seem incredible and full of nuance on top of that I'm way less driven by my ego and I have alot more empathy as well

that was easily one of the best joe rogan clips ive ever watched in my life. ive been in a similar situation (just at rehab no iowaska) but the people i met there and the conversations we had felt like i was meant to be there like he said. It felt like a big sigh of relief after one of the longest and darkest periods of my life. I'm sure coming off hard drugs had a lot to do with it, but being around people who are focused on your needs and don't judge you is so helpful in every way. i wish we had more access to places like these without having to get to such a bad place to begin with. i wish more places were like that in general. Just beautiful spoken by this man i heard joe say this conversation was great but i had little to no knowledge of who ron white was and im very glad i got here from the theo von iowaska clip im definitely going to listen to this episode now. the way he described it brought me right back to smoking cigs late at night out by the fire all going through a similar journey that we could to relate to eachother with while being on completely different ends of every walk of life. it was beautiful and really helpful to teleport back there for a moment the day after my childhood pet passed away and that blackness is having another go at me as we speak. very much appreciated i think i will return to this video periodically and if you read this whole comment i appreciate you thank you for being interested enough to read what i have to say. you can do hard things. we all can. together.

stay strong, I was clean for 3 years then relapsed. I doubt I will again but there is no denying that drugs feel good and get their hooks into you. You have to try to only remember the bad, and forget any good feelings they gave you. in perspective over time, the bad always outweighs the good.
Happy to hear Ron stopped drinking I'm sure the family he has wants him to live a complete life. I stopped drugs almost 13 years ago and am grateful everyday. I'm on board for any treatment that can help someone.
I've been on and off drinking, recently taking another break because every time I stop it's because I've drank myself into an atrocious darkness. I'm grateful that I've been able to succeed on my own, but I think a big part of my success has been that I took relatively small amounts of LSD for a week straight, and the consistant buzzed feeling helped with the withdrawls and cravings for alcohol. I've got some undiagnosed and untreated mental health issues, too, and psychadelics have really helped taking the cutting edge off of them. I probably still need standard treatments but it's nice to be able to sort of cope on my own.
So glad for you both. We all have things we self-medicate, but accepting ourselves as flawed human beings, and working with the good bits is a huge step Keep on, both of you. Be around people who love and celebrate you in all your flawed glory. God bless you and keep you. 💕

Joe is the best listener I've ever seen. Most people would try to pipe in their own thoughts or questions but Joe just keeps listening. It's hard to do with people who talk slow. We listen, at least, 2X faster than people talk. Our minds then wander and we quit listening. Joe seems to have found a way to just listen.

I ate capansias and mescaline for 11 months in a cave at 11390 feet up pikes peak in Colorado springs to get over my PTSD and literally lived as a cave shaman with a sparce supplies and bow and a Bowie knife and my training it was the game changer for getting my head heart and life back...

Good for you Ron. Alcoholism and or addiction are extremely hard to overcome. Although there is no cure quality of life improves more and more as time passes. I know I've been clean myself since April of 2013.

So stoked for Mr. White. Last I heard from him (specifically on Rogan) he was finished with stand up. Presumably at a time while drinking heavily. Glad to hear he's on the come up and that he'll do more comedy. Hopefully he'll put out another special!

Joe at the end asked "when are you going again" kind of like he wanted to join him there. I can't imagine Ron being a non-drinker, but I'm glad he was able to pull it off, and wish him good luck with it going forward.

Good to hear Ron`s story. Easy to hear from somebody we all love to hear from. He holds out hope for folks who just cannot get a handle on their addictions.

Totally. I've heard many Aya trip reports, but most them are from people within the psychedelic/spiritual community, so it's always awesome to hear from people like Ron and even Mike Tyson

Ron got sober? That's wonderful news, I'm so happy for him. Doesn't he look "clearer?" I'm in a process of sober maintenance myself and it really is inspiring to see guys like Ron , Steve-O and Russel Brand not only get it together but to thrive as well. Anyway, glad to see it
