It’s funny because I remember when people said there’s no way they could top Significant Other, but then they did it lol. Both of those albums are genuinely great though, no matter what anyone says about Limp Bizkit.
Love it...I still find my self saying "rollin, rollin, rollin, rollin..." when I'm driving. For even more fun, "Break Stuff" and "Nookie". Nu Metal was and still is my jam. Nu metal spawned bands like Limp Bizkit, Korn, Alien Ant Farm, Incubus. However it wasn't entirely new idea to combine rap and metal. Anthrax and Public Enemy joined forces in the 1980's on "Bring The Noise" but that drew more from metal on the rhytm than rap or hip hop. This takes the rhytm from hip hop and sound from metal.
@@jworthy4438 Nah, it was also Nu-Metal in the nineties....really hated Limp Bizkit back then though. I was such a snob....haha. Started listening to Bizkit a few years ago...they are really nifty fuckers. I get it now though. After hearing "Blind" by Korn for the first time in the record store (because I was intrigued by the cover of the cd), there was no turning back....
When Limp Bizkit broke into the Nu-Metal genre it was previously dominated by angsty goth kids and bands (i was one of em). They slapped a fresh coat of vibrant paint on it along with a spoiler, some spinner rims, and blacklight underglow. We *hated* them for it, but we also were bobbin our heads to their jams when no one else was looking.
Who knew I needed the Biss energy from this to put a smile on. Break Stuff needs to be next. It's technically the song that sent Woodstock 2 into a full blown riot.
This band was an interesting phenomenon. When they hit the scene they were super popular and everyone was bumping their album. Then Fred Durst started catching a lot of flak and tons of people disowned Limp Bizkit. People who used to love them deny it to this day. Its hysterical.
Well the fact is that the band created controversy even from their debut album, but the songs were good. The first three albums were marred by what Durst did outside of the band especially live, including the Woodstock '99 and the Jessica Michalik issue, not to mention his issues with Borland. Really, Borland and Otto defined the sound of Limp Bizkit, and can be considered the backbone of the band. So yeah, people wouldn't want to call themselves a fan considering they'd be accused of condoning the shit the band was accused of.

Ben Stiller said it best he he said, “Who else could take rap, hip-hop, thrash, punk metal, Take it, throw it in the can, spin it around and come out with something that wasn't fertilizer? And it was the Bizkit, the Limp Bizkit, man.”
This was one of the two songs I blame for getting me started on metal music, so it's always great when I see it getting some love. The whole rap and hip hop infusion with metal was really popular in the late 90s and early 2000s, and actually became a sub-genre of its own called 'nu metal'.
