Yeah. What's even more eerie - the video was awarded at 2001 VMA's, and then Fred got a thank you letter and a fruit basket from the Port Authority of NYC, for featuring the building in the video - it arrived the day before the attack.

Wes Borland really emphasized the Rock in this genre. He and Brad Delson (Linkin Park), never compromised the Rock element of the "Rap Rock" genre.

It's called Nu-Metal and it has bands like Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Slipknot, Korn, Papa Roach, Powerman 5000, Static X and hundreds more. Slipknot and Linkin Park are the ones who really put this genre on the map while the bands that followed kept it alive.

Brad Delson is the reason why I started to play guitar. Of course there are others that inspired me to learn to play, but Brad from Linkin Park was my niche. My first guitar was a PRS that I still play today. Nice to see other's recognize the lesser thought of guitarist in HUGE bands (especially Nu-Metal) like Wes and Brad!

I miss music like this. It was for sure fun. Yeah, I was a senior in HS when this came out, such an interesting time in music looking back on it. It's funny, because all throughout the 90s the whole thing was pushing back on censorship and LB was a huge middle finger to that group that was saying it was music, movies, and games that were screwing up the kids. You can hear that a lot in Eminem's early music too. Sad to think censorship ultimately won, because music that just didn't give a F is gone.

(It was pretty much the tail end of the "90s" before the "2000s" kicked in.)
The music video was filmed around August ~ September 2000. The towers you see in the video are indeed the World Trade Center, the South Tower in this case.
Limp Bizkit received a letter in the mail from the World Trade Center's building manager on September 10 2001, thanking them for choosing the World Trade Center for the music video and also congratulating them for winning the "Rock Video Of The Year" Award at the MTV Video Music Awards - which took place on September 6 2001…

What's wild is that while we give Nu Metal a hard time.. They kept guitars and real musicians in the pop scene.. Like look at pop over the last 13-15 years, there are barely any if any guitars in the top 10. I'd be more than happy to put metal into these charts again, because its fun music at the end of the day.

You know, you mention who much you like 2000s music and yet haven't seen one of those songs that has all these same elements but that you haven't mentioned yet. That being Kid Rock "Bawitdaba" and "Cowboy." The first is a banger I would put up against any of the day (or since) along with lots of fun and the second slipping right into that fun category you mentioned.
I might also add--as I'm absolutely sure people have mentioned before--you've still got at least two songs that compete right up there with "Rollin." Those being "Nookie" and "Break Stuff." Every time I hear one of these, I say to myself this is the best Bizkit song, until I hear the other one. And as good as "My Generation" is, it's a bit of a step down from the other big three.
BTW: LOVE the fun you have with this genre! And just noticed I kind of said the same thing said in the second paragraph in an earlier comment from over a month ago. Yes, I'm a multi-time listener to the reactionaries ( ;-) ) I watch.

Nice to see an younger perspective. Off on some stuff here but I get why!. Thanks for the vid! Calling it 2000's style is sorta strange as this style was more 90's and died off in the 2000's. (song released in the year 2000). Also you can't call it nostalgic the whole time and then in the end admit you have not listened to anything by them.

Eminem became big in the same time and was a friend of Fred Durst, the lead singer of LB. They featured them both in videos in this days but Eminem start a diss fight because of LB DJ Lethal (an ex-member of House of Pain - a band who was lead by Eminem personal enemy Everlast) and diss also Fred Durst in different tracks. That ends the friendship.
And crop tops and baggy pants are back in the youth trends. I'm now 42 wearing baggy back in this days and celebrate the comeback of this type of pants. I hate this ultra skin type pants from the time period before this trend. 😅

Two more Limp Bizkit songs to react to:
    - Rearranged (from 2nd album)
    - Out of Style (From latest album)
Rearranged isn't really a "typical" Limp Bizkit song. But it's one of my favourites from their earlier work.

It’s crazy that this video was filmed on the top of one of the twin towers and not even a year later 9/11 would happen ☹️

This is the only thing I think about when I see this video. It is very creepy. The band received a letter from the WTC congratulating the band on the VMA the video on Sept 10, 2001

It's hilarious to see all the people shit on Limp Bizkit nowadays trying to say they were always trash and acting like they were some kind of weird fringe music that only weirdos listened to. Then when you go back and watch their videos, everyone who was anyone at the time is making appearances.

Stef and Ben were friends with the Band, if you listen to the entire album there's other parts where they are talking and Ben and the Band are breaking things. this was a great album.
