Between Gerald's review today and yours, we consumers now have all the information we need to make an informed decision. The thing is bright. Gerald loves the look of it, but your all-black copy is handsomer, I'd say.
From what I can tell, the bi-color version is black, the RGB version is silver.

Wouldn't shrunk down diffusion just be a beauty dish or an led panel? How soft a light is is determined by it's diameter so there's only so much you can do physically to make it small.

oh man you are definitely not the only one that hates Bowens Mount.
Diffusion is a constraint of physics and the larger surface area that is needed to negate specular light.
Just like physics dictates how we will never have holograms in the air.
It's impossible to have a holographic projection without a substate.
Put a neon glowy array thing in the backdrop with the X60 and, epic light blogging will occur.
Two diffusers in hand look more comedic.

what if you have the diffusor "bending" light rays so you could have a compact light but get the same effect of a diffusor. like a lense that bends reality and diffuses the light on to the whole room/ scene .
I think the Bowens adapter is too narrow, making the light directional instead of diffused. Still, with some tinkering, it probably works as a key light.
It looks like the Bowens adapter gives more focused light with that reflector inside, that even lantern looks more like softbox (
Personally, I don’t like to flood the background in light so the Zhiyun looks better. It achieves 3D pop.

I got my s24 ultra in the mail this morning with my spring foam mattress and four extra 5x16850 DIY solar cobs. Using the new cable to transfer from the old s22 ultra right now, 59.1% (building record history database...66%) Dremel with my 2 in one, can't come to terms with hyper tough amazing 12v line, got the bottom 2/3 lens floundering, the buttons are different too, might get a new case, the ring is horse shit, don't get the ring. lol

Non ionizing radiation is still harmful, it's definitely not agreed upon that it's safe. Plenty of data showing all electronic devices are harmful in some way.

Zhiyun was better. Your background should be darker than your subject.
Also soft light has a lot to do with the size of the diffusion. Larger diffusion, softer the light. So that won't ever shrink. However, perhaps an innovation in how they're packaged/unfolded to emphasize portability.

The Zhiyun is better. The Smallrig light looks comparatively warm. You get what you pay for sometimes.

Err.. you're being a caveman to control the light is probably your problem unable to operate the zhiyun app. Chinese lighting product nowadays controllable using smartphone via Bluetooth. Even my godox trigger can be controlled using phone
