  • In this video we take a look at 5 affordable AEG upgrades. These upgrades should give a quantifiable improvement to your airsoft replicas performance while not being difficult to do. All of these upgrades can be fitted without going into the mech box.
I see a lot of posts asking about first upgrades on new replicas and I normally advise not to upgrade anything till you need to. If your replica performs well enough to provide a good game experience then upgrades may not be necessary.
As with any upgrade there is inherent risk to your replica. If you make any machine work harder than it was designed to do then you will wear out parts more rapidly. These upgrades should be fine on any replica, just be aware that there is always a chance something may fail prematurely.
I hope you enjoy this video. If you would like more content from me then check out Rock Bottom Airsoft on Facebook and Instagram.
    Thanks for watching.

I'm glad you liked it. I agree it's always a little worrying that something could break. That's why I normally say to try a replica first and if it's working for your playstyle then leave upgrades till something breaks. These upgrades in this video shouldn't break anything but as with all upgrades, the potential is there.

Good video. I wpuld just say maybe link the videos that are "further explanations and instructions" into the description. Ie like the installing a new hop rubber....pop a link to that video above. Will help people find them easier. But as always mate, good video. Keep it up man and get well soon!

Thanks a lot, I am really glad you enjoyed the video. I completely agree with your points and regret not putting links to those videos in the description. I will ensure that's the case moving forward. Again I really appreciate it and thanks, hopefully I will be back in game soon.

I’m thinking of installing a the 19k motor from the lancer gen 3 AEGS into a cybergun scar l (oem Cyma) would that be an upgrade

A decent upgrade would be an aftermarket motor. An affordable option would be rocket or shs. Otherwise there are a number of decent motors available. Any torque motor would be a decent upgrade.

Hi. I'm a big fan of the rocket or shs torque motors if your looking for an affordable option. I would normally get those from Bullseye Country sport.
These motors have never let me down and they are a good price.
      Hope this helps.

Great video very helpful like me as a newbie,
Question i have a E&C EC 854 is it possible for me if i change to an M135 spring even if it runs on all stock internals in the gearbox? Thank you…🙏

Thanks, I'm glad you found the video helpful.
I haven't worked on that specific replica before but generally I would say that an m135 is quite a heavy spring for an aeg. Of course this depends what fps your looking to achieve and indeed what your sites limits are. I generally wouldn't go that high in my builds as my site limit is about 350 fps for full auto. For dmr then maybe. If your looking for higher power and consistency then airseal is usually the best upgrade path.
As to whether a standard rifle will take it, it's a mixed answer. Just remember that the stronger the spring then the more strain is placed on the motor and thus the electrical system if its not up to the load being applied. It will put more strain on the gearbox shell and gears. So overall, yes, you could do it but it could result in more rapid failure than a weaker spring or it may need supporting upgrades to be effective.
      I hope this helps.

No problem. I hope it's performing well for you. If it is then it might be best to wait till you have to open it up for repairs before making upgrades.
