  • In this video we take a look at my used CZ Shadow 2. As some of you may know this replica had a broken slide which has been replaced. Since then it has developed feeding issues.
    Here we will remove the slide and strip it down in order to replace the feeding nozzle. I will go into detail over the process so that if you need to strip your ASG CZ Shadow 2 for cleaning or repairs you should be able to follow along.
    The ASG Shadow 2 is a fine pistol and I really like it. I bought this one as a tired example so considering the use its had its in great condition.
    If you want an ASG CZ Shadow 2 get one here:
    www.patrolbase.co.uk/asg-cz-s...
    If you want a replacement nozzle get one here:
    www.bullseyecountrysport.co.u...
    Replacement springs are here:
    www.bullseyecountrysport.co.u...
    You can get a new slide here:
    www.bullseyecountrysport.co.u...
    The hex key should be available at all hardware stores and tool stores.
    I hope you enjoy this video. If you would like more content from me then check out Rock Bottom Airsoft on Facebook and Instagram.
    Thanks for watching.

    I know I'm a bit late to the game here 🙄 but you can take out the spring and guide rod without completely stripping it down. If you pull the spring all the way to the end of the guide rod (compressing the spring) it allows enough space to pull out the guide rod, once it's compressed enough to clear the housing there's just enough room to get it past the hop unit, same in the way back in but in reverse.

      Hi, sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the advice. I've always found this replica fiddly for getting the guide rod and recoil spring out.

    yo! How do you take the inner barrel out of the outer barrel? Suspecting I gotta pull the brass pin, but wanted to see if you had a technique for it

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, This was something that concerned me when stripping mine down. I'm afraid there is no particular technique, your absolutely right though the pin does need to come out. I was surprised at how tight that pin is in there as well. All I did was support the hop and outer assembly and tap the pin through. It will seem like it won't go but once you get it started it should drive out and then you can remove the inner barrel.
      Hope this helps.

      @@rockbottomairsoft Perhaps I'd just be better off building a new barrel set so I could easily swap back and forth. Any recommendations on the parts that I'd need to get to build one out?

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  2 роки тому

      That's a great idea. Giving you the option to change out relatively easily. I will be honest I've not made any upgrades to my Shadow 2. I repaired this one with standard parts and only removed the inner in order to swap to a threaded outer barrel. So I haven't experimented with what works well with this particular pistol. I know that maple leaf always seem to do well in gas blowback builds but I have no experience with their parts in this pistol. I'm sorry I can't be more help than that. I hope it goes well, let me know how you get on especially if you find a decent upgrade. If I do upgrade this pistol at some point I will be sure to do a follow up video.

      Further to my comment there. If your just using standard parts you should just need a hop assembly, inner and hop rubber of your choice. Of course for speed you would need an outer as well.

    Hi, i bought this pistol couple days ago and i have issue with the double action trigger, i dont know if i broke it or whatever happened but the double action trigger just doesnt work anymore, when im pulling the trigger the hammer doesnt even cocks halfway and already gets released and it doesnt shoot.
    Do you know any solutions?

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  4 місяці тому

      Hi. Sorry for the late reply. It sounds like it could be a trigger sear problem. However there are a few moving parts involved with the trigger so either way you would be looking at a strip down. If it's a new purchase I would maybe have a chat with the retailer and see what they can do for you. Otherwise I would look to strip the replica down and hopefully that will present a breakage or worn component. Sorry I cant be more help.

      @@rockbottomairsoft I did sent it back to the store and they sent me new one as refund, unofortunately it's even worse than the broken one, BBs keep rolling out of the barrel, tried adjusting hop up, doesnt work.
      The rubber piece on the recoil spring, a quarter of the rubber piece was snapped off right when i took it out of the box, but thats not all, the safety switch doesnt work at all ever since i got it.
      I almost forgot the mention, BBs sometimes get stuck behind the gas nozzle, i have no idea what to do with it i just gotta remove them using screwdriver.

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  4 місяці тому

      That's terrible. I'm sorry to hear of all the problems your having. It does seem like your having terrible luck with your supplier. BB's rolling out would usually indicate a lack of Hop up as the most common cause, but you've tried adjusting that to no avail. The safety not working and damage on arrival is also not good. If that was what I received I would again be looking at a replacement from the supplier. I know it's a pain, but it sounds like that's the best course of action. It is possible you could have a nozzle issue for the loading problems but again, you shouldn't have to do work to a new replica. I hope they get it sorted for you.

      Not good. So the slide won't move at all? Has the replica been dropped or physically knocked? Does it cycle and then jam?

      That would get annoying. I've had a similar problem with mine. In my case though it fell out of the holster while I was in game. Discovered it was clogging up with dirt that had become trapped in the grease. I had to strip it down, degrease and re lubricate it. They do seem very reliant on lubrication. I suspect there might be more to it in this case though. I would recommend checking for wear indications, scratches worn paint and bare metal showing. If there is any signs of this then something is definitely catching and physically jamming the replica. If that is the case then check nothing has become dislodged or excessively worn. One thing that can wear down and cause these issues is the slide release pin. I would start by checking that. Also make sure this pin is well lubricated as this can also cause issues. Next ensure the outer barrel and hop chamber assembly has not become dislodged or the pins have become warped/damaged.
      Hope this helps.

      I found out what the problem was. It turns out my outer barrel isn't straight and defective. I put the outer barrel from my friends shadow 2 and it shot perfectly fine and he used mine and same issue I have with it. I'll be purchasing a cl project outer barrel

    • @rockbottomairsoft

      I'm glad you got to the bottom of it. Seems a shame that there was a defective component causing the problem. We come across this all to often in airsoft. At least you have the option to upgrade though. Hope it works out for you.

    Why are you not stripping it all down befor taking the nozzle out

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  Рік тому

      That's a good question. In this particular instance I knew I was changing the nozzle. With this particular pistol it is sometimes much simpler to remove the nozzle assembly first before the spring guide and recoil spring. It is quite simple to remove the nozzle before or after but in most cases I wouldn't remove the nozzle at all so it would stay in place. So to answer your question in this case it was just a simpler way to do it for this particular job.
      Hope this helps.
