The reason you have to machine the shocks is because they weren’t designed for that tractor. I think they came off the 1000 series tractors. I put the kit on my tractor without removing the fuel tanks but it wasn’t fun. Didn’t take nearly as long but I didn’t have to modify my lower mounts like you did but had to use shorter bolts than supplied in the kit and then flex the fuel tank to get them in. I capped the lines but didn’t put the rest of the kit on the tractor yet. Still staring at the red light on the cab suspension button. Really like the ride tho
That would make sense then. Sounds like it made it a little harder leaving the tank but if it worked for you that’s good. Pulling the two tanks didn’t take too long and it did make it a little easier. To get in there. I pulled it all off because I was already doing it figured I’d make sure everything is off right away. Thanks for commenting!
I don’t have the part number of the kit but if you call You’re local agco deal and tell them you want the mechanical cab kit for the 8600 series they know what you are talking about. Or just call MM Weavers in Pa and they can always help. They are really good.
Hello I am wondering how did the conversion work out 2 years later?trouble free I presume? I have one on air bags which gives lots and of trouble and need converting back!
Only thing I did wrong was put the front shocks in and back and the back in the front. It was bottoming out the cab in the back when I hit a big bump. So that was the only problem. But that was my fault. 🤣
I have spoken to many Massey ferguson dealers and mf specialists here in Ireland and they don't have any knowledge about your mechanical spring and damper retrofit kit. Do you have any part number or would your MF dealer pass on the two part numbers for the spring n damper set? Please and thanks.
I don’t have the part number but just call your local Agco dealer or if anything the Dealer MM Weaver in Pa will know exactly what you are talking about.
Just ask your agco dealer for the mechanical spring kit for the 8600 series. It’s recommended to put the stiffer springs on the back half otherwise the cab bounces around too much. Thanks for watching hopefully this helps you a little. 👍🏻. You won’t regret putting it on. No more headache with the cab suspension
Yah our 7495 still Has the air bags on it. But that tractor has a engine air compressor so we Plumbed it into the cab suspension so it doesn’t used the old cab compressor anymore.
Interesting that it rides better than the hydraulic system. Was the hyd. mostly for leveling out the cab and not shock absorption? Safe to assume the seat is air ride? Sounds like AGCO messed up allowing it to over-travel into the windshield, can/will the Fendt/Challenger do the same (or am I all messed up on what all AGCO owns)? If so, I wonder if the NTSB would be interested in knowing that (NOT that I'm a fan of big government). Not a big deal, I'm just being lazy in asking you instead of looking into it myself. Btw, GOOD job on organizing the job and explaining it.
The shocks just seem to bouncer better from what I’ve noticed. It definitely shouldn’t blow out the window but I don’t care to make complicated. Put the mechanical kit in and it’s done.
Andreas this is a much simpler cab system. Thanks for the video.
Yes it sure is. It also a smooth ride than the hydraulics
Hello. where do you buy the part ,that have in your hand , video 15 min.
That part came with the spring conversion kit for the cab.
thank . I will contact the mf dealer. when I bought the tractor, the rebuild had already been done. that whole pump system is left.

Do you have a part number of the shock that you used ? Or what tractor did you get them off of ? Thanks

Ok so what is the kit you purchased. About to pull the trigger on it after seeing this. Nice job.

I did the soft kit and really like it.
It’s just what I heard is recommended but if that works good for you that’s great.
Has your 7400 tractor got air suspension have you had any trouble with it? I’m thinking of swapping mine to manual springs
Yah our 7495 still

How big is that fuel tank??
Pretty sure the two tanks hold 155 gallons
So stiffer on back what about the front.
The softer springs on the front. That is what we did.
Yall plaese leave those tire on the new tractor. Those bigger singles look like shit
Lol. Yes this tractor is keeping its duels. It does look good 👍🏻
Kiss! Keep it simple, I won't say the last word to that as you guys get it done and more.
Thanks for watching!
