  • This week George shows you how to set up lights on your model train that is equipped with a wireless Blunami sound decoder. He changes the headlight effect and adjusts the brightness of the number boards in this video. The Blunami app makes adjusting your model train's lights easier than ever with simple drop-down menus and slider bars. He also shows you how to modify your FX output names on the Blunami app to match the lights that they control. Watch now to learn more.

    This is cool for new modelers just starting out. I'm not thrilled with the various proprietary interfaces out there for programming like LokProgrammer for ESU and now this for Blunami, but it appears that if someone moves up to regular DCC, all the CVs set should be able to be ingested into DecoderPro in the initial read-in and managed through DecoderPro from then on. I like this full DCC support approach a lot more than what RailPro does, which has limited DCC support. Also, the L-Gauge battery application is super cool, I've always loved L-Gauge trains, I still have my 9V ones from when I was a kid.

      Yes when you use the app it is setting CVs for you that will remain set up when you switch to DCC. The decoder set up is stored in the decoder not the app. You can also read all CVs in seconds.
      We are very excited to move away from reliance on DCC and track power. This will give a much wider-range of modelers access to our fun and realistic features.

      @@SoundtraxxDCC Are there any plans for Blunami-equipped locomotives or train sets? It seems this would be perfect for making things easy and affordable for people new to the hobby, as opposed to those already in the hobby who have already invested in DCC.

      @@woodalexander We would love to do this, but it is ultimately up to the locomotive manufactures so bug them! :)

    Very very cool. However, for those of us who have already invested a great deal of money in your Tsunami decoders, it would be great to have a tiny add on product that could add the Bluetooth functionality to an existing installation.

      I agree. I have 40 plus Tsunami 2s and that is not small investment that I want to keep

      We understand this and appreciate your support, but we cannot make every past product upgradable to the 'new' version. We also cannot stop innovating. That being said Blunami does not make your current Tsunami2 decoders irrelevant. They will still work together on DCC and if you are using Tsunami2 you already have invested in a command station. You don't need to rip out all of your Tsunami2 and switch them to Blunami as you already have a DCC set up. You can switch to Blunami moving forward if you want to have access to the app control and use DCC when using with Tsunami2. For those new to the hobby Blunami is a major game-changer as they do not have to invest in DCC as well.

      @@BNGreen970 We completely understand this and appreciate your loyalty. But Blunami does not make Tsunami2 irrelevant. You may want to switch to Blunami moving forward, but they still work with Tsunami2 and DCC. You already have your command station so you don't need all of your models to be Bluetooth compatible immediately.

      @@SoundtraxxDCC If you can make the Blunami software talk to your old decoders you would have a winner!! Some sort of programming interface.

      @@shadowfaxx5 YES! Soundtrack sells an interface that lets your PC or laptop talk to the DCC system, why not an interface that receives the Bluetooth signal?

    Is there anyway to change the lights from on/off to momentary?

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  6 місяців тому

      When you pull out the menu to rename functions, then uncheck the green dot and it will then be momentary.

      That is fine. Tsunami2 is not discontinued or irrelevant because of this change. It is just another way to run your trains!

    Could not be easier to use.Those reluctant to make adjustments until now,should take the plunge.
