Music has left me alone working on my own music , toxic relationships with other musicians , then a drinking problem . I get obsessed and lose track of everything else . Thinking I finally pull the plug and move the fuck on and enjoy my life .
It makes me very nostalgic to remember a beautiful time when I created music and when my music generated a lot of happiness. I would like to stay in that time for my whole life but, for some personal reason I can't :(. Who would care about this comment, I think I'm just a comment like everyone else after all. ( Whoever has read have a beautiful life ahead :') )
I love your positive thinking! I also get stucked @ mixing so many times and need to set clear goals first. If all work out as planned i am ok after few years, but maybe not ready at this present time yet. But i wont give up! We all can help each other giving energy to proceed like you give to many of us! Thanks Streaky!

Never give up because you can just do it for your own pleasure and leisure eventually.
The best time to give up is when you know you have zero talent and all autotuned. If you haven't made it by 25 at the latest then it is OVER. Simple as that. You never will make it. Fact of life.

I have been doing recording/live audio for about 8 years. I eventually got a full-time production job which involved mixing live and doing some studio stuff. I got married and moved and now I'm looking to change my career path and do digital marketing. Do you think I should sell all of my recording gear and plugins or keep them in case opportunities pop-up? I still have a passion for it but I feel like if If I keep it, it will distract me from fully committing to my digital marketing goals.
Josue Torres Sounds like you’ve started a new mission and family congrats and also sounds like you know the answer.
I’m a big believer in going all in on one thing at a time, keep the distractions to a minimum especially with a young family to play with. This was a hard lesson I learnt through having too many side projects over the years, these videos are made selfishly as reminders. Good Luck 🙏✌🏻

I’m of the opinion that if you feel like quitting then you absolutely should. There’s no medal in doing something you don’t enjoy and if making the best music you can isn’t enough and you want greater attention, recognition, money whatever then try something else and honestly music listeners won’t miss you. I love the music I make and I know it’s weird shit and if anyone else seems to like it then great but it’s really just about having a creative and emotional outlet and music does that better than anything else for me. If making it is your issue then don’t do the rest of us any favors by adding more banal pop music that only exists as a marketing tool.

Haha feeling the same way this week. So much time, energy and money invested for what. So much great music the competition is intense. Been thinking long-term for 30+ years so when is enough enough or do you just never give up until your last dying breath? Started out for fun so should just go back to that then every else is just a bonus.
Exactly.. do it for yourself first then if anyone else likes it .. bonus. That's taking it back to the beginning why we all started out in music.
