Hey Thomas, that's a great question! This is how I personally would retouch my headshots if I'm doing it myself, but it's certainly not the fastest way. In the case of high volume headshots I'd be outsourcing to a dedicated retouching company that can turn over photos much faster, and at a very reasonable cost. I personally use RE Photo Solution. If you have a big job like what you mentioned, I'd go with them. Hope this helps!
Sam, do you give your RAW’s any treatment before bringing them into photoshop? They seem well contrasted and corrected before your retouch. Thanks for the great video.
Hey Josh! Thanks for your comment. Yep, I open them in ACR and make as many of the adjustments as I can there. There are a lot of enhancements I can make from there, and the AI masking features are so quick and are sufficient for like 75% of anything I'd have to otherwise do manually in Photoshop. I have a video on the masking features if you feel checking that out too >> ua-cam.com/video/s46bVebTX-Y/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SamInterrante Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Have a great day!
@@saminterrante I do have another question for you. I’ve just binged most of your stuff and checked out your Instagram. Your work is so impressive, and I’m totally jealous of your friendship with Peter Hurley - that’s rad. I have a ton of questions I’d like to ask, but the one I’m most curious about is why do you opt for strobes as opposed to constants (like Peter’s kit)? I’m about to redo my kit and I can’t decide if I want to upgrade my strobes or move to something like an Amaran constant light setup. Thoughts? And also, why haven’t you made the move to mirrorless?
Sam, Do you ever have any problems with Godox misfires? I recently started using several battery powered Godox flashes , 200’s and 400’s, with my Nikon camera, and I’m missing shots due to the controller or flash units sleeping. Really painful. Ever have this problem? And what is the solution?
Yeah that happens to me all the time with my 200w units. Often times the first shot misfires and every one following is fine. I don't have a workaround, I've just gotten used to it I guess hahaha. The color and exposure also isn't 100% consistent from shot to shot, but ultimately it's all close enough for me that I don't really mind. I know some technical purists might be losing their shit that I'm even saying that, but I mean they're $300 lights and it's to be expected. Sorry I don't have a more helpful answer!
@@saminterrante Thx for the info Sam. One misfire to start I can deal with, but I was getting a lot. I’m changing some things to see if I can cut it way down.
If it’s happening a lot maybe the lights aren’t recycling fast enough for the speed at which you’re shooting. If they’re at or near full power, for example, you can’t shoot super fast without getting some misfires. Could that be it?
@@saminterrante No, it happens after pausing for a couple of minutes, my first shot is often a misfire. I heard it could be the channel, a standby setting, or maybe use non rechargeable batteries in the controller. After I shoot once, it wakes all the units up and fires properly, I stop for a couple of minutes, shoot again and the first shot they don’t fire then they start firing. Out of 60 shots I might have 8 misfires or so.
@@markelovett Okay yeah, I have that exact same thing happening too. And I'm pretty sure I have rechargeable batteries in my trigger. I am curious now if it's just a sort of defect of the unit, or maybe one of the things you mentioned. I'll have to give them a try. Have you had any luck troubleshooting?
Thanks for sharing this Sam! Super work as always.
Thanks so much!
Hi, Thanks for sharing your knowledges. Would you have the same workflow if you have let's say 150 headshots in the same company? Thanks

@@saminterranteThanks for you answer. I normally do it myself... I and normally go crazy after 50 😂👍
@@ThomasRuhlandPhotography Hahaha man I can't even imagine. I'd lose my mind after 5 or 10 I think 😅
