I think doug is losing it. Way too many videos in a very short amount of time. I think he finally blew a head gasket from quirks and features overload.
My older brother, in 2000-2001, purchased a 1998 for 40-something thousand. Had 7,000 miles on it. It was Super Red, and those 5 spoke wheels were chrome clad. I was a teenager at the time and I kept it detailed for him in exchange for cruises in it around town. It was an extremely cool car and attracted a lot of attention. I enjoyed the intricate/detailed look at this one in the video. I caressed every surface, every nook and cranny of that car, and this video really takes me back!
I bought the 1997 25th anniversary edition new, with that same color scheme. LOVED that car, drove it for seven years but was forced to sell it when times were tough. Some fun observations: - The wing is completely invisible to the driver in the rear-view! One reason it's so goddamned big, so you can see thru the center. - The wing is completely functional, developing something like 80 pounds of downforce at speed. - The back seat easily accommodates a baby seat! I drove my infant daughter around in my Supra constantly. As she got older she rode in a conventional child seat and called the car The Batmobile. - The twin turbochargers work together to reduce lag. One (smaller) is always boosting a little, while the big one starts cranking at ~4000 RPM. One thing I'll never forget is the INSTANT torque you get punching it at 60 MPH on the freeway. Truly astonishing experience. - The carpet was a unique hollow-fiber design to save weight. The aluminum pedals were drilled out for the same reason. - Despite being RWD with a lot of torque, the Supra is extremely well behaved in bad weather. Even in snow, without snow tires! - My Supra racked up 80,000 miles and all I ever did was change the oil and put fuel in it. No warranty repairs, only recommended service. It is one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned and I drove it like I hated it, every day.

To bad Doug didn't explain what those 2 blank buttons are for, left and right of the Traction on/off switch @ 14:11 They're for the optional heated seats and active front spoiler/lip. On the right side are the heated seats, the button is divided in 2 for Left on/off and Right on/off. The left switch is for the active front spoiler/lip which was a option in Japan, Australia and Europe only. The button ''also divided in 2'' says: ''auto off'' and ''down'' If it's in ''auto'' mode it will extend once you've exceeded 90kph (55mph) for at least 5 seconds and will retract when speed drops below 70kph (43mph). If you turn it off it will stay in retract position. With the ''down'' button you can manual extend and retract the spoiler/lip. But manual control requires ignition ON but engine OFF. You can then depoly manually. However, as soon as you start the engine the spoiler will retract. US didn't got this option because of their (lame) ''safety standards'' and ''car regulations''. If you want to get one in your supra good luck they are rare. You need a (spoiler/lip of course) the motor, active spoiler undertray (it's different then a basic undertray) And of course the active spoiler ECU, so it knows at which speed to extend/retract. PS. And if you got a FMIC (front mount intercooler) it isn't going to fit. There are also supra's with 2 traction buttons instead of only one large ''trac off'' button. One is ''normal'' traction on/off, the other one is called ''snow'', snow mode just limits the power a little bit for those extra slippy sections. ps: Just type in: ''Toyota supra active front spoiler'' on youtube if you wanna see how it works. Picture of the buttons just type in toyota supra active spoiler button @ google. Have a nice day.
Yeah, I'm surprised Doug didn't point those out....He usually makes a big deal about blank buttons...in fact this is the first time I recall him not saying anything about them. Maybe he did & edited it out?

'90's Toyota Black, my '92 Celica GTS still original paint, very tough. A repainted fender has the rust. This is in North East winters and never garaged. Amazing car.
I have a Black 1995 Honda Accord LX Coupe, which I know is no where near as special as a Supra, but it still has original paint and I've been told by more than a few people it's maybe the best Gen 5 Accord that's still around today that they've seen. Apparently like 9/10 of them were riced out and made awful. Mines pretty close to stock, though I did put a slightly more modern radio in it and different wheels and tires on it (but still have the stock wheels in my garage). I'm proud of how well I've taken care of it and how nice it was when I bought it 9 years ago when I was 18. Shockingly enough at car shows people actually look at it, even among a bunch of supercars and wayyyyy nicer stuff. Apparently they're getting pretty rare now, but I know it'll never be worth a ton like a Supra is. I've been offered more than 3x what I originally paid for it, but it was the first car that I bought with my own money, as opposed to one that my parents just let me use but was really theirs, so I have a big attachment to that thing... Plus the tires that are on it right now are worth about 1/3 what I paid for it originally ;D
Back before I had a wife and children I had the privilege of owning one of these amazing cars. It was an original renaissance red turbo manual, converted to a single turbo. Got it from 2jzMotorSports out of salt lake city.. all I can say is I've owned a lot of sports cars and it wasn't until I purchased this car I knew I "found the one". A true sports/touring car. I took countless road trips in it and loved every minute of the experience. Unfortunately I sold it for a down payment on a home for my growing family. Shed a tear that day no joke! But some day I'll own another.. cheers supra fans!
I was 12 or 13 years old when this version of Supra hit the showrooms and I remember seeing a red turbo, black leather seats, 6 spd. and removable roof!! I kept the brochures for it and the Celica for years!! My parents owned an 81 Celica, 88 Camry and we went in to the dealership to look at the new Camry. That red showroom Supra was sticker priced around $40-$41 thousand dollars. Ah, memories.
Fuel injected cars use inertia to move your pistons instead of gas going down hills... it's not saving anything to turn it off. Shifting to neutral is even worse because then you are using fuel to idle instead of the wheels turning the engine.

Kenneth Lewis right, I can’t wait for the future of cars. My mustang ecoboost has only a few mods and a tune and it should be 350-400hp and even more torque. Imagine in 10-20 more years how even base model camrys and civics may come from the factory with over 300-350hp

That's almost impossible because a car that gets a 50 in weekend can't possibly get a 10 in practicality because of gas mileage. I think it would have to be an EV.

I believe he's mentioned before that he doesn't want to show the speedo when he goes for test drives because he speeds sometimes and doesn't want to be showing proof of a crime lol.
Easy fix, just do what Top Gear did when they were being limited on speed; freeze frame the speedometer and isolate it, and leave everything else alone. 5th gear @ 6500? 35 mph.
That's the ironic thing with cars. Cars are meant to be driven, but it's more desirable if it's driven less. Kinda like women. I guess that's why people refer to cars as 'she'.

One is ''normal'' traction on/off, the other one is called ''snow'', snow mode just limits the power a little bit for those extra slippy sections.
ps:
Just type in: ''Toyota supra active front spoiler'' on youtube if you wanna see how it works.
Picture of the buttons just type in toyota supra active spoiler button @ google.
Have a nice day.

It would have been best if he showed the full oem extra eu spec, because this spec get lots of jspec extra stuff. And only this spec get seat heater and cool hood scoop. The usa spec dont get too much oem extra option. Or a jspec rz with oem recaro seats etc.

Kenneth Lewis right, I can’t wait for the future of cars. My mustang ecoboost has only a few mods and a tune and it should be 350-400hp and even more torque. Imagine in 10-20 more years how even base model camrys and civics may come from the factory with over 300-350hp
