Ignition switch is fine. the wire to the starter is your culprit. It comes loose.

Austin SC300 and NA Supra is basically the same car; I mean the Supra is built on the SC300/Soarer chassis. The only thing I can think of that's major that the SC300 didn't get from the NA in the states is optional LSD.

Just a note though, I just sold a fully restored 1993 NA 5 speed with fewer miles for about 3k less than you paid, so I think your title might be a little bit of a stretch, but that's ok, as long as you got one! 😎
Btw your headlights are 93-96 lights that have been painted, as they still have the small running light inside, which was eliminated in the 97+ versions.

Do the "Turbo-Supra" have the same manual gearbox as the "N/A-Supra"?
Audigiant, no, the NA cars have a 5 speed and the turbo cars got a 6 speed.
Early turbo cars had a 5-speed as well. '97 and '98 Turbo cars got the 6-speed.

Would have loved to see it on your channel, as I never actually made any videos about it on my channel; I only ever documented the build on my '94 Turbo car. Good luck with whatever you're doing to it! If you need any help or advice, let me know! And if you need any OEM parts that you can't seem to find, I do have some friends at Toyota that help out finding the rare stuff for good prices, so just shoot me a message.

5 years ago a friend of mine bought -94 JDM NA Supra auto for less than 2000 USD, 1600 euros. I bought my -93 JDM TT auto for about 6000 USD.

This Supra is a 95 model year SE (Special Edition) model. The SE package was only available for the 1995 and it was the base package that was only available in hardtop form. Only available in three colors (Red, Black, and Pearl White). Standard equipment was cloth seats, hardtop/fixed roof, and the base radio. I don't think Toyota offered the option of the premium stereo for the SE package. Beautiful car.

For that kind of money, you could have bought a 300zx Twin Turbo in nice shape with half the miles. Which is in my opinion a much better looking car with WAY better performance than this normally aspirated Supra.
I have to agree Ty, I think that was way too much for an NA Supra, but then I live in the UK and you can get a twin turbo Supra for that money OR two manual 300ZX twin turbos........

Marc Fuller I am not sure if it’s scamming but it has to do with just making poor choices. He wanted to do UA-cam vlogs over his probably more stable job at Jalopnik. I think the cars that he owns currently don’t have many issues, so he ends up making fewer vlogs. Because of that, he has to buy additional cars like that $23K Supra to produce more vlogs and that comes with revenues due to the number of views as well as the big expenses like that Supra. Or traveling (that’s a chunky expense) to Europe to buy his manual transmission for his SL 55 AMG. So, I do wonder if he’s making a profit out of them. Like I said, he just made impulsive choices.
I hope people realize that the GE are what some heavy moders use for doing top end runs with same power output as the GTE variant because they lacked oil squirter's in the GE they were better able to retain higher oil pressure levels compared to GTE's tapering off. GE motor can be built to the same power levels as the GTE, the GTE allows right off the bat power gains while the GE could also will be limited to around 500 do to lack of forged internals, cams injectors etc.
i dig the red at the bottom and on the spoiler. leave it that way. it gives it the stylish flair that makes up for it not having the more desirable turbo engine

These prices are insane. NA surpras are everywhere here in Australia. They go for roughly $5000-$9000 USD. Every fresh 18 year old is driving one with a stupid loud straight pipe.
my dad bought new a 1998 hard top, Supra turbo, twin turbo, 6 speed in black, made about 750 hp, and he sold it right before fast and furious was a thing, if he would have held on to it a little longer, or had it today with the low miles, it would be worth a crazy amount.

I had to check how much that car would cost here in Finland. Found one that is a left hand drive. Hard top has done 140 TKM and has aclean body and has valid registration. 9500 €.
Fully built 3.0 turbo that makes 750Whp 36 000€. Now thats cheap.

Gonna let you know that there's a guy in Nashville who buys and sells Supra's, Skyline's, and NSX's, he sells them with 120k miles, clean title, for 23k or less, but I will say to find one that is that clean on the outside for 23k is actually not that bad

Bought my Supra SZ 1993 manuel in Australia just before the release of the new BMW Supra for 16,500, now the only mk4 Supra for sale on the no1 car sales website is listed at 100k for the aero top, and there are turbo modles now 65k at the lowest. the supra is gaining value quicker than people think.
Darn, you bought the N/A..... In '97 I was looking for a ttSupra but couldn't find anything for what I wanted to pay. I ended up buying a '92300ZXTT. A great car but it had its gremlins! After putting on 30k fun miles, I sold it for what I paid 2 years later. The Supra TT is still on my list of dream cars!

doing a mk4 supra "on a budget" is a HUGE disservice to any example of a mk4. the last thing a limited car like this needs is a tape and zip-tie, self-tapping drill and cut ghetto spraypaint 240sx level modification done with sloppy hands and a teenager "im lazy and poor and idgaf" attitude. Give it some real professional love, done the right way with real quality parts.
I owned that exact same SE model in the Diamond Pearl White in 93, bought it brand new. I loved the seating position and its driveability. Such an awesome car, I wish I still had it.

Στην Ελλάδα πεινάνε και ξεπουλάνε σήμερα έχεις να πάρεις φεραρι και αύριο δεν έχεις να πάρεις ψωμί... Ψάξε στης αγγελίες όπου και αν μπεις θα βρεις μπόλικα τσέκαρε καθημερινά και όλο και κάτι θα βρεθεί εγώ έμπαινα μια φορά την μέρα κάποια στιγμή το βρήκα να σου πάρει 1 μήνα να βρεις; 2 το πολύ παραπάνω δεν θα σου πάρει αλλά να ξέρεις ότι στα 7 με 8 χιλιάρικα έχει παααρα πολλά που και 8 χιλιάρικα να δώσεις είναι πάλι τσάμπα.

We can get N/A Supra's here in Canada for about $7k, but they're all RHD models from Japan with no history or real reading on the mileage... and most of them are automatic.

MKIV NA supras start at 6000 euros in Finland, and they have under 200 thousand kilometers (120k miles)
When I bought the limited edition , I did NOT want the targa or the whale tail. (it was gaudy at the time when all sport cars had pop-up light ) BUT You don't have an original USA Supra. You have the Canadian version. No spoiler no targa. TRack the VIN and see what the port of entry was.
