I do like the familiarity and uniformity of Irish towns. The all have a cosy pub, and old church and graveyard, a GAA pitch, and often an old family run shop that you can get anything. There is always someone who will warmly greet you.
Good man . I walked from Tralee to ballybunion . 32,000 steps on my smart watch 😃
Watched the films of your latest trek, back to back. Beats Netflix , hands down. The country back roads and small towns and villages remind me of Ireland as I remember it in the 70s. Such happy memories. Thank You .👍
Thanks Derek 😊👍🏻❤️
On my mother’s side, I have roots in Kilflynn. Stacks too.
My dad went to school with JB Kean and was in the same class. My grandfathers one was the postman and the other a shop keeper both lived on Bridge road.
Have a good weekend, Derek!
Thanks for these vids. When the names of the sponsors come up I think 'oh no that's the end of the video'. Then always a nice surprise when I realise its only half way through!!
hope to see you in here tralee town centre 🍺💪💪
We look forward daily to each of your videos. Great job, Derek.
Always stopped with my Dad on the way home from the bog in Kilflynn, happy memories of playing pool with bottles of Coke and Tayto crisps. Hope you are enjoying all that Kerry has to offer.
You went round houses to get to tralee from listowel well dune
Welcome to Tralee. You have probably left by now because it definetly isn't that nice today but I don't mind walking in the drizzle either. Keep posting love watching your adventures, just finished walking the Camino Frances, I'm in trouble it's in my blood now.
Kilflynn is my childhood village, did you get to have a chat with Michael Parker? Michael is a cool guy, a must go to source for anything GAA or for local history. If not you should definitely call to Kilflynn again. Thanks for this upload, I live in Donegal now, if your up in Donegal in the future reach out to me, I'd love to grab a coffee with you and have a chat. Thanks again for this upload 👍 Just found your channel recently, new subscriber
The travellers are so friendly and happy. Pretty good buddy.
Loving your walk at the minute. Hope the weathet stays good for you👍
Great videos Derek!! I look forward to them daily! Love all the history and sharing what you eat & drink! You motivate me daily to walk & enjoy the simple sounds & scenery this wonderful life gives us. I’ve only been to Ireland twice but it’s in my soul constantly….now I’ve found your videos! Thank you❤️
Another great video man!
I'd say that was hard going in the heat but you were keeping positive about it. Nice to see you had some laughs and good company along the way.
Love it . Great videos. Enjoy 👍
It looks like Ireland will be getting a good few days of really good weather. Hope your enjoying the good weather we are getting. Hopefully you have the sun cream so you don't get burnt. Just wondering Derek, do many of the camp sites you stay at have laundry facilities, I know there's a good few laundry facilities at various petrol stations round the country, just wondering if the camp sites would have them too.
There's a couple of the self service washing places in Tralee. One on the Mounthawk roundabout next to the garage near to the roads leading to Fenit and Ballyheighue. The other one is on the John Joe Sheehy road heading towards Killarney, next to the garage in front of the small Dunnes hope this helps.
Have to visit kilflynn now.😁
Good song. Keep dancing. Have we long to go. Keep praying.
Look forward to your updates every day. Bet you thoroughly enjoyed that coke
I'm craving a tin of coke right now 😂
