You can watch a hundred of these videos,,narrow streets, double parking, bad drivers, bad pedestrians, the patience these firefighters have responding to an emergency is staggering.
The conversation in a taxi somewhere in the line, around 0:52 Passenger: "C'mon man. Move it up! I'm late already!" Taxi driver: "Well so is everyone else in New York." Passenger: "Man... This is important!" Fire truck behind them lays on the horn for 10 seconds straight Taxi driver: "Yeah, what he said. Now shut up!"
@@tomh3652 seagrave won a tender in '23 to deliver 9 x tandem axle heavy duty rescue apparatus to FDNY. Thoughts are that the 5 Rescues and HazMat rig were getting replaced. They tender every 7 yrs for new rigs They recently went back to Seagrave for Engines, Ladders and Tillers
laurens sijbesma nearly 3 mins to turn on 11th Ave and then travel 29 blocks south before heading 7 blocks crosstown which was probably 10mins-ish I believe the Person was DOA
It seems to me that the fire stations are situated very poorly with big trucks having to do a huge turnaround just to get out of the house and parked vehicles a nightmare 😮
AJ Deere T680 We had been in the house in the kitchen chatting. They heard reports over the Manhattan Freq, geared up and got on the rig. As they we gearing up the run came in
Seems a bit excessive with the horns and sirens. Where did they expect the traffic to go? It was funneled to one lane with the construction and cars parked. Cars can't just disappear. Not trying to be critical, just realistic.
Writing as a former Volunteer Firefighter-EMT Basic there are drivers who will refuse to yield to emergency vehicles. I once watched as a volunteer firefighter from a neighboring town cut off an engine 🚒 as we responded to a fire call. Some people are so self-important they will not only refuse to yield to emergency vehicles they will even hit emergency vehicles operating at calls or hit first responders operating at calls.

Not to mention the construction zone they had to deal with
Patients is a virgin!
Awesome video. I love it when the Q siren comes on as they finally break free.
Epic use of Sirens & Air Horn, sounds awesome.
Painful. Just f*ckin' painful, and with a man trapped under a train.
The first unit of the scene won't take care of that.
I wonder what was blocking rescue 1 from moving up there. :/
Just the sheer amount of traffic. Nobody could move anywhere. And as you can see the even had a "blocker" but didnt help them at all
Lincoln Tunnel traffic leaving out of Manhattan going to New Jersey
Outstanding!
Love it and miss it
You think thats load you should hear Rescue 2's Train Horn

I hope they have a separate air tank just for the horn, with a heavy duty compressor, just to keep up!!! That’s crazy!!!!
Unbelievable just how a pedestrian can get to the scene first. Takes 20 minutes to get somewhere that should only take 3 minutes
The sirens& airhorns help is on the way.
If I was controlling siren and the horns. I have the siren to the max and horn blasting through
unfortunately due to the traffic in Manhattan this particular day it wouldn't have done much. There was just nowhere to go on most streets
do Rescue 1 have more siren ?
Yup Eq2b And Regular Q2b And Yelp
No the air horn works just fine
Nice video !👍👍👍
Will they ever go to Seagrave for the Rescues ?

Right on my birthday
That's rite!!!.....use that "Q".
I like the part with the firetruck in it! You digargoonski?

50 + years ago, when they were built, trucks weren't that big, and traffic wasn't as bad.
They are going to kill that horn.
Should have walked up close to it to see because it was stuck forever!

All the time they were in traffic u coulda wlaked closer lol sorry for late response
hope they never let go of the "outstanding" logo. Never Forget box 8087
They've moved when they hear the Q siren
better getting new york car drivers all arrested for their driving !
The horn is for the first car way up there not moving
Thats the sounds of nyc that i love not the rumbler
Have to agree with you
blocking the road for construction across the firestation doesn't help.
That's a lot of air horn
+Duramaximized07 The siren looks like the siren of Chicago firerescues

Bob Barr more often in the hope that if you get PD or a Chief heading down 11th Ave they hear the Rescue and clear traffic off 43rd

You wouldn't think it excessive if you were waiting for them to come help you!
Other traffic likes to block that same intersection
Frick that fire station is literally a hole in the wall
Many Manhattan houses are like that
Word!
