    I don't think the bike is that small. Pretty average really. I bet it does just as well as any other bike. I hear bikes that are too big can hurt and smaller bikes can be way better. As long as you're good at riding the bike it doesn't matter how small it is.

They're designed for tiny ledges / footholds, making them ideal for tiny pedals. Also, could you not have gone with multiple belts instead of a chain?

    Sorry, but if any of y'all aren't subscribed to this channel... this guy acquires some of the most incredible machinery and tool manufacturing equipment that exists - with the full intent of using it. I'm not sure if the 5-axis cnc was an aquisition or a rental but jeez, this channel is great.

Sometimes I re-do parts so many times that I think I may not be cut out out for this. And then I remember that even the smartest of people go through iterative changes when they are working on designs. Thank you for inspiring me and helping me see my project through!

    If you're not concerned about the height of the bike, why not have a much longer front stem so you don't have to be doubled over to reach the handlebars?

    • @TheRealBlueBeanie
      @TheRealBlueBeanie 2 місяці тому +6

      I suppose so that the bike qualifies as the “smallest” without handlebar or seat disputes as “part of the bike”.
      Not sure though, good question.

    • @PandaMane
      @PandaMane 2 місяці тому +14

      Just above your feet is the best place for the handlebars, and the only place that actually allows you to ride the bike. If you extend the handlebars up, they either interfere with the movement of your legs or if you move them too far up, you would be basically standing and your center of mass would be shifted back making it incredibly hard to balance.
      You could possibly give the handlebars a forwards rake, but then that brings into question whether or not it's actually a bike anymore, since the handlebars would protrude ahead of the front wheel, and, if it is, would the "length" of the bike still just be the wheelbase, or would it be from the rear wheel to the front edge of the handlebars? Since, if you only care about the wheelbase length, you could make a perfectly balanced regular sized frame on top of a very tiny wheelbase and call it the "smallest bike in the world"

    • @0Rookie0
      @0Rookie0 2 місяці тому +1

      @@TheRealBlueBeanie I like to think it's so the handle bars don't move beyond the wheelbase while providing angle for caster. But the pedals reach beyond the wheel base, and the handle bars don't strictly need caster. Maybe it's just a silly record because of the absurdity of it all means you pick and choose. Theoretically, if it didn't matter you could set up a huge rider's triangle and actually have a seat and bars you lean into. I can't imagine trying to balance on that. Nor the one he made haha.
      My other thought it that the human interface can be larger. Anything that wouldn't be changed for rider size is what actually counts.
