    Xiaomi AX3000 is a Wi-Fi 6 wireless router that supports building a wireless mesh system. This solves a very common use case - having effective roaming between multiple Wi-Fi networks at home. It's the first time I can actually walk in and out of rooms and be certain that my call won't drop!
    There has been a lot of testing involved, of course - speed tests, roaming between stations, configuration walk-through and also - showing you the awesome AX9000 in action too!

    Hi Michael: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I have watched hundreds of youtube videos on the device review. One thing I must appreciate is the clarity. Your voice, throw, accent, and technical information were all PROFESSIONAL and very well presented. In many videos I have noticed as the guys are making it right after waking up or in the night where they talk like a chicken not to wake up his wife or mother, mumbling, slangs, and what not. I really enjoyed 13 minutes of your video, perhaps one of the BEST from all aspects. Thank you very much for sharing with the world. Keep up the good sharing. You are a bright, brilliant, and lively person who enjoys what he does. Great job Mike.

    Great video. I bought 3 of them, but now I have discovered that you cannot mesh them in daisy-chain topology if you are using wireless backhaul. They will only mesh wirelessly in Star topology. It is quite disappointing if you have a large house. The furthest device will not mesh with an intermediate one, it will only connect back to the primary device, causing poor signal.

      hello Jason, i want to ask about your experience with this Xiaomi mesh wifi, is it good? does the mesh wifi causes high ping? lag? ping spike? disconnecting intermittenly? . I am searching for a alternative from buying Tp link deco M4, that device has many problems so I was wondering if Xiaomi AX3000 Mesh is good and reliable. Thank you!

    Great video as always! I've been using a bunch of AX3000's in my home for a while now for that awesome mesh coverage. One huge performance bump I've recently made was to buy a separate Mi AIOT AX3600 router to serve as the parent/root mesh node, that connects directly to my fiber modem. All the children nodes are still AX3000. With this change, I've seen a significant improvement in overall speed and bandwidth, as well as better MU/MIMO handling of more connected devices.

    • @TechMishka

      Oh, this is great to know! I was wondering whether adding AX3600 or AX9000 would make sense, but since only AX9000 is around - I just decided it's too huge for my taste. Awesome piece of info, much appreciated.

      So if I understand this correctly you can use an ax6000 as your main router and connect several ax3000 as mesh access points? Interesting! Is it possible to assign ip addresses via MAC address via the configuration ui? I really need that function as my isps router doesn’t support it and I’m having several devices that can’t be assigned with a fixed ip…

    Great review. I have bought 3 AX3000 to create a Mesh network for a detached 3 floors house. I am facing a problem with the structure of the network. The main router is in the 1st floor and the other two are in floor 2 and 3. The issue is that the router on the 3rd floor is connecting to the main router in 1st floor and not to the one on the 2nd floor so the signal in 3rd floor is not as good as expected. I would expect that the routher on the 3rd floor would connecto the one in the 2nd floor but the fact is that it isn't and I can't find any way to change the setup of the network. Could you give me some light on this? Thanks!!

    1) No bridge mode therefor cannot extend your current network, the ax3000 will create a another network with you having no access to your current network if connecting to the ax3000. 2) cannot assign a stationary device to a specific node thus if a stationary device lands on a node further away with low signal it will stay on that low signal node, 3) no usb for ax3000 and ax3200 thus cannot put a usb with music or videos on your network for your smart speakers or tv's. The lack of daisy chain communication is concerning but I have not tested that.😐

    First, thanks a lot for the awesome review, it is really a helpful one.
    I have one concern which I wish I can find straight answer for it. Through your review, and all the comments I have managed to go over here, it is mentioned that a mesh network can be established though wired backhaul between the two devices, which is something great. But I need to set up the network in a very large home needing 4 devices to cover the entire space. Am I going to be able to establish a mesh network by connecting them all through wired backhaul? i.e. 1 Main router which is connected to ISP modem through the WAN port, and the 3 other devices connected to the Main router through the 3 available LAN ports?
    In other words, is the wired backhaul connectivity only limited to 2 devices (1 Main and 1 Satellite) to establish mesh? Or can I connect more devices (1 Main and 3 Satellite) to establish Mesh though wired backhaul?

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  2 роки тому

      I have tried with up to 3 devices, so that's what I can confirm for sure. But: Using Wi-Fi for building the mesh is also an option.
      I remember that it was OK to extend the mesh via the second router, meaning that not all the "slaves" have to be connected to the main one.

    As a System and Network administrator at my daily job (well, not so much anymore I guess) I always had an issue trusting such a router cause of many claims that such companies do spy on you, I know Xiaomi is one of the well known brands and I myself do use some of their products and love them, but there's something in my network admin mind that is having an issue routing all my home traffic through such a device, I did want once to get one of those and do some advanced testing and even packet tracing to check it but never got to it. I ended up with a different WiFi6 router from a brand I previously used and loved but it still remains probably the best bank for the buck wifi6 router in my opinion.

      Spent many hours trying to extend the guest network over the satellite nodes but could not make it work at all, it will only provide a guest network from the main device. Contacted Xiaomi about it but have had no response. I was hoping to do away with the router the internet provider supplied and just use the AX3000, but have opted to use the provider's router's wifi as the admin network (only needed within reach of their router), and use the whole meshed Xiaomi network as the guest network over the rest of the building - it's default IP pool is different from the provider's one so that provides the seperation. As an aside, if you do need to change the AX3000 gateway, access the settings via a browser on the default 192.168.31.1 as this can't be done from the app. If someone knows how to extend the guest network, I would love to know.
