This Pakistani and British fusion was mind blowing. To see Nusrat singing over a band sound a harmonizing with Peter Gabriel in the end was intense and interesting. Uniting legends from East and West and proofing again that music connects and goes over borders. Most definitely more music from NFAK is coming to the channel.

Nusrat aint even singing any lyrics but his mere presence is making this performance breathtaking
There are two types of singers :

The smile on Peters face at 6:13 says it all. He used that take from Nusrat on the official release of this song 6 years later for his album Up.
This song is actually used in the sound track of a Martin Scorsese movie"Gangs of New York" starring Daniel Day Lewis and Leonardo di Caprio. The sheer intensity of that scene with this song in the background gives you goosebumps.
Peter Gabriel did alot of work with Nusrat and was one of the main person to get the musical fusion started. Not only Nusrat, Peter Gabriel got world musicians from all over the world together.
Peter Gabriel gave the soundtrack for the movie Last Temptation of Christ (another Martin Scorsese movie). The song "Passion" will make you cry!! Also set on a very intense scene when Christ is being dragged in the streets before crucifixion. Goosebumps!!!
Another amazing track is in "Natural Born Killers", again with Peter Gabriel and Nusrat called Taboo. Peter Gabriel understood how and where to use his vocals to extract the inner feelings of the viewers.

Peter Gabriel sung Sledgehammer which was a global hit. He was also lead singer with Genesis before Phil Collins took over I believe.

For the little story, Peter had created this song... and as he likes to go in different directions, he recorded this concert (1995 or 1996), with the voice of Nusrat... which he let improvise. The vocals that Nusrat sings from your 6:00, draw a big smile from PG at 6:12!! (In his head, "yes, that's the right take!!!"). Unfortunately, Nusrat dies 2 years later, after a surgical operation. Peter will keep this single capture of Nusrat's singing on his album "Up" in 2002.
There is also a live version, with Youssou N'Dour in 1997.

Nusrat was indeed the best in Indo-pak region, no doubts on that. He did a few songs with western singers and also a track for a movie "The last temptation of Christ".
