Absolutely lovely, phenomenal! I was born in the UK and have lived here my whole life, my dad introduced me to Ustadh Nusrats Qawwalis when I was a child. This is one of my favourite performances. I feel like the more you are listening to him the more you are beginning to really feel and embrace this beautiful genre of musical and more so understand what a genius he was. Imagine he was alive now.. the music we would have! You are right, there will never be a legend like him again, in fact his whole group were a huge gift to the world of music.

So every time a crow caws the singer thinks she's gonna have a special guest (her beloved)come over.
You should watch Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali khan's Performance in New York Central Park, that is one performance where crowd really goes crazy! And one of the best of his performances. Unfortunately recording is from 1993 so the sound quality is not that good! Still he made even those dance who wouldn't even understand a single word of urdu and punjabi.

To learn the difference between the eastern and western style of performance in my view is: in western music the musicians have structured tone and singer follows the musicians where as in eastern music the singer leads and musicians follows the singer, its like a water flowing through a stream that finds its place to travel, if that makes sense? Hope this would help.
